She thought about it for a bit as the two smiths talked. after he returned she had an answer. "I would like to learn, so i guess i would like to try and create." she said. It would be nice to be able to say she had a hand in the creation of one of her weapons. she followed him as he led. she kind of liked the way that the stuff cluttered the aria it almost reminded her of a hoard. 

"So you use raw ore and other things to make stuff, have you ever recycled old things to make stuff. like rings and necklaces?" she asked quite curious as to if he had and if so if he had used cursed materials.

"You can melt down old metal objects in a crucible and reshape them into new ingots or bars, but you always loose some material when you do," he responded. "It's usually only done with precious metals like gold or silver, especially gold, because they are so valuable and because, for some reason, there is always less dross, what we call unusable material, with gold ." As he was speaking to her he lead her over a small forge. "We have a small bellows here connected to the heating pit and an anvil to do the actual shaping. The bellows works to pump air into the bottom of the fire making it hot enough to partially melt the metal so I can hammer it into shape. Any questions?"

She listened and looked at the stuff as he explained it.  "Not yet but i'll let you know if i get them" She said. Than remembered that she was waiting on something earlier. "I Forgot i got to go but i can come back later if that's ok. or we can meet at the tavern" She knew She was going to need to run to get to the ship if she intended on completing the task before the sip set sell. 

"Oh…. Okay….." Malik couldn't help but look a little crestfallen. He had been looking forward to teaching her a little of his craft. "I'll just get started then." As he finished speaking he grabbed a steel bar from a container next to the forge and prepared to put it in the coals to heat.

she felt bad that she had to run but she knew something was going to happen under the nose of the law and it was not going to happen if she had something to do with it. "I will not be more than an hour." she said before slipping out and quickly walking towards the pears.

she reached the pear just in time to see the ship heading for open water. she had missed her target. she was glad to not see any signs of human trafficking but felt that they still did it. She was a bit slower walking back as she thought about how she would fix the problem later. She went back to the smith place where she had left and walked in. frustration and disappointment showed on her face. "I missed the ship." she said.

Malik had already started work on the blade when she returned. As she walked up to him he hammered the emerging sword one more time and returned the partially shaped bar to the fire. "I'm sorry," he responded to her statement about the ship, "I don't know why it was important to you but it clearly was." He pumped the bellows a few times and, judging the metal to be hot enough, pulled the soon-to-be-sword out of the fire. He motioned to her to come towards him and handed her a hammer. "I'll point to where to hit and you wield the hammer."

she watched him move the 'sword out of the fire and then give her the hammer. she struck the metal where he pointed with a good little bit of force. "It was just i missed a chance on messing with the pirates wich breaks tradition." she again hit where he pointed. "Usually i get a drink have, a fight and free a slave or cause some pirate so truble." she was starting to see the pattern of where to hit but still only hit where he pointed when he pointed. 

"Hmmm," he said by way of acknowledgement that he had head. "I have an idea about how to fix that issue," he said, "but, for now, focus on the work."

For a couple of hours, that is exactly what they did. once the rough shape blade had been pounded out of the steel he showed her how he used rasps and files for the final shaping of the flat and edge of the blade, secured the tang of the blade to a strong handle and pommel, distracted her by asking that she retrieved a specific tool from across the workshop, added a small amount of molten silver to the center of the cross-guard, pressed a small object into the silver as it cooled, and quickly flipped the blade over as she returned. He used a small, pointed instrument to inscribe her symbol in silver on the side she could see and then, after a quick polish so that the whole weapon gleamed, the work was done. He said quietly to her "I hope you don't mind what I have done." He showed her the side of the cross-guard opposite her symbol. A gleaming piece of mother-of-pearl was nestled into the silverwork. "I know you probably wanted your symbol on both sides, but I felt that this added just a touch of beauty to the sword."

Vinsue watched and helped as instructed. getting the tool was a bit of a challenge for she had no clue what she was looking for. after a bit she found what she hoped was the right tool just in time to see him flip the sword over. she watched him trace her symbol into it. once it was finished she looked at it. it was well balanced and she liked the little surprise he had put in it. "Thanks, I like it." she said as she looked at the surprise peace. than turned it over and traced the symbol with her finger than felt the blade. she was quite impressed by the sword.

"Now, as for your desire to cause some serious trouble for some pirates, you don't come to a port town as a smith without making friends with a few ship captains. One of the captains I am acquainted with is a pirate hunter. You interested?"
