Drysl rolled over in his sleep and mumbled something indistinguishable "m..rh..ms..j..l", the animals in the dark continued to growl and yelp as they fought each other over the carcasses that they were tearing into. The Farmers wife threw up at the thought that the sounds of flesh being torn in the dark was the bodies of her family and friends. suddenly all the noises in the dark go silent all at once…

Tea took a stance as things went quiet, much similar to the fight he had with Quan. Heat could be seen from each hand, his green eyes are darting everywhere looking for these mysterious beast.

Pick chuckled, "you just haven't been to the right places."

He glanced at Drysl, "you better be worth it old man" he thought. He chided himself for his selfish thoughts. "If you hadn't stopped to help you'd be wondering around lost and more than like killed by a six legged wolf." the rustling in the distance snapped him back into the moment.

"Stay back!" He shouted, "we've had a long day, just leave us be."

A large pair of glistening eyes peer at the campsite from the darkness, a long split tongue flickers into the light as it tastes the air. It moves along clockwise around the campsite, slithering along the ground it large body knocking over trees. It stops after a bit and examines the fires looking for a weak point a way into the ring. It resumes its circling of the campsite its long scaly body completely surrounding the campsite it stops once more, then slithers off into the darkness knocking over trees in the distance as it goes. The cacophony of noises of animals feasting and tearing at carcasses returns after several minutes.

Claribel Blue

Character Info
Name: Claribel Blue
Age: 18
Alignment: TG
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Class: Scholar, Mage hopeful
Silver: 1515
Claribel had been busying herself with cleaning the old man's head of all that blood as she found herself with a growing pile of mushrooms and dried vegetables by her side. When she saw the journal drop out of Drysl's pocket, she reached to pick it up–but she was too late! Pick had taken it and disappeared, and she gave a soft sigh and continued cleaning. By the time she was done and tucking away the dirty rag to wash later, Pick had returned with even more mushrooms. She accepted the (hopefully edible) food with a nod and a soft, "Thank you," before helping herself to the safer ones; much better than wasting the last of her energy on a food-creation spell, she was sure. As she ate, she sat herself down next to the farmer's woozy wife and gently rubbed comforting circles into her back.

"Ah!" She held up her free hand to block the sight of the journal when it was shown to her, and she quickly shook her head. "Journals are private things, and I shall mind that privacy just as well for others!" That did not mean she wasn't listening, however; her nose wrinkled slightly in response when her eyes rested upon the darkening sky and all the sounds of hungry beasts and slithering things found her ears. "We should wait until dawn, I say; we won't be very bothered in the daylight."

Seeing as how her work was all down now and she no longer had to focus on trolls or bloody bits, her attentions finally settled on Tea in full. "My name is Claribel," she said softly, partially fearing that any higher of a volume would attract whatever was being kept outside the ring of campfires. "What is yours? And yours?" With the second question, her gaze flickered towards Pick and the apparently long-silent Cedric. Or perhaps she had simply not focused on him enough to notice anything he might have done? No matter; she would get her answers in time, she told herself.

The answer to every unasked question is always no.

Tea was practically motionless from the large beast that circled the camp, hr waited for the monster to leave before he would answer Claribel's question.

"My name is Tea." He exhaled, holding his breathe the hole time. "S-so what brings you to the forest?" Tea ask studdering, still nervous being around Claire. Though he was truly curious, this wasn't an idle question.

Pick, assured that they were safe in the ring of fire, plopped down next to the rest of them. and for the first time since he left his tribe he had nothing to say. He instead listened and focused his attention on the people he had been fighting with. This moment of silence on Pick's part was, of course, only temporary and very quickly broken as he started talking about his favorite subject. Himself.

"My name is Pick, good to meet you Clair, can I call you Clair?" He asked completely unaware he was being untactfuly very forward. He rarely picked up on social cues as this was the most he's talked to people outside his family ever.

You'll have to catch me first.
