Scarlett looked up at Xunatar as he expected an answer from her about where she had gotten the locket as he picked it up. "It's mine," she said hesitantly. It wasn't a lie, by all accounts it was hers. How she came by it, however, was far less easy to explain, and far less easy for her to even remember.  "I can't open it," she admitted to him softly. "For as long as I've had it, I haven't been able to open it," she told him. Almost in defiance, the locket clicked open and inside was revealed a lock of white hair. She reached out and took the locket and clicked it shut again.

"It is mine, and it isn't at the same time," she sighed as she stuffed it into the satchel again. "I've had it since the opening of the rifts all over Revaliir," she told him. "It belonged to the girl… to the ME, I guess that came from that other world," she told him before she sat down on the edge of the bed again. "I guess when we became one I came out stronger than she did… if what I remember is really memory, it is all hazy… like a dream," she told him. "I've always just tried to ignore it, really, but there are times when I just can't," she told him. "Like when I saw you before I passed out when you brought me here."

He was taken back still the sight of a relic once believed to be lost with Scarlett. Now it seemed that it wasn’t the case, at least with one of the situations. It looked just as it had when he had first gave it to her. The woman before him had stated it was hers, and though he was a master of manipulation, he could tell with easy that she was sincere with it. She wasn’t lying, the locket had been hers. How his heart sank further into the abyss but still he kept himself together. Perhaps by fate itself or just by a streak of luck, her pendant opened and revealed it exactly what he had spoken of. “I suppose that our questions have been answered, only for more to come to mind, no?”

Xunatar listened intensely as this Scarlett explained who she was. Not one, but two of them had existed though this one, this woman had been the more dominate and absorbed the one he knew. “It makes sense, the rifts had brought me here as well, though I proven much more stronger than the other me. But it was the opposite for you, I suppose.” But could there still be remnants of her within? The god leaned against the wall and thought deeply about this situation they found themselves in. There were…memories still intact. Or at the very least, scenes that had played in her mind even if they were just fragments. “So you do remember me, or at least I feel familiar?”

He sighed and rubbed at his temples before looking to her. “I had met you…her at a waterfall. I have been in the form of a wolf and we talked extensively throughout the night. Can you recall any sort of memory about that?” He wanted to reach for her, to touch her once more to remind himself of what had been had and lost. But she was much different, how much was yet to be left in debate. “Share with me what you can recall.”

"You were one of the most vivid dreams I would have," Scarlett admitted. She sat back down on the edge of the bed, and closed her eyes, calling on the dream-like memories that lay on the fringes of her mind. "It started with a fight… or something that could have been a fight," Scarlett answered. "You as a wolf, and I was defending. I thought I was doing well, but found out you were just… toying with me…" Scarlett said, straining to remember. "I believe… you took a lock of my hair to prove it…" she said as she looked up at him. "Then we sat and talked for a time… before we…" she trailed off, an uncomfortable blush coming to her cheeks.

"Those instances were the hardest to forget," she told him. "I would wake up from those dreams unsure if they hadn't truly transpired because they were so vivid and felt so real," she told him.

She felt incredibly vulnerable telling him all of this, and it wasn't a feeling she enjoyed. All in all, she had viewed her alternate as a rather naive, almost timid sort, far too trusting. Being born a Genasi in Railoch had hardened her hard against the world, for she was one of the few of her kind, and because she was so different, she was off-putting to many people and generally avoided. In Baltil she was welcomed because she had proven her worth through hard work and apprenticeship. Honestly, if it had been her tiefling self that had been up against the scorpions, Scarlett wasn't sure that the outcome would have been as favorable.

Another life, another time, he recalled his younger years of the other world. He had been crass and witty, still coming to terms with his mind fractured a bit from the trials and then later on from the drow imprisoning him in their dirty little hole of a home. He remembered very vividly of what Scarlett was saying to him as he listened. He rose his hand to her when he started to see that she was struggling with the memories. “Yes, I was playing with you. That was my intention, to test what you were capable of.” He let her continue undisturbed before his eyes fell onto the bag that now housed her locket. In his hand came forth a locket that mirrored it in appearance and his fingers easily snapped it open. Towards the end of her tale, he only gave her a small, smug smile. She didn’t need to describe what happened between them, no words were needed to speak of their actions after they talked beneath the moonlight. He lowered his hand towards her to see that his locket held the very lock of hair she mentioned. “Never had I given it up. I never had the heart to. Not sure why. Perhaps I had held some bit of hope of seeing you again”

Xunatar allowed her a few more moments to gaze at it before withdrawing it and snapping it back shut. “I suppose she is still there, buried beneath your more dominant self. It is only a theory though.” He stared at her in a moment of thought, wondering if that side of her had wondered what had happened to him after they parted. Too much time had passed and they both were changed in some fashion. The god knew that a lot had changed with him; he could understand how the merger of two counterparts could have dramatic results. He was a blend of both versions, and though his older self was the dominate one, many of his Revaliir traits were often seen.

“Tell me…about yourself. Not of the one that lurks within, but that of the Artificer Alchemist.” He pondered about how different she truly was- already from the way she fought and her demeanor was surely leagues away from the one he knew, but if anything, he wanted to at least know more about it for the sake of it.

Seeing the lock of still curling red hair carefully kept inside the locket that matched her own made her heart hiccup in a way that was strange for the fiery Scarlett, but the girly side of her that had been buried seemed all to familiar with it. So he had kept it, after all this time.
"Yes, she is. The feelings we-you shared are coming through quite strong now," she told him. "I'm not one to be romantic, or even very feminine in general, but ever since she became part of me, that has changed."

"I was born in Railoch, where all elementals come to Revaliir. My father was a djinn, my mother a human researcher there. She left me in Iria when I was born, since it became clear that I wasn't exactly human. Children of djinni have always had to find their own way. We are even more outcast than those with demon blood. Or at least I have been. I can't vouch for others like me, because I have never met another Genasi, Fire or of any other element," she told him. "I wandered around on my own, learning and scraping by a living anyway I could. When I was a teenager I found my way to Baltil, and was taken in as an apprentice. They found me useful because I had a knack with explosives, and that was helpful when it came to mining. I've lived and worked there ever since. I did a little bit of studying in Karith, and can read and speak in Dwarvish, Primordial, Ignan, Draconic and Goblin."
She ran a hand through her short cropped red hair. She had no curls here, but her hair was still the vibrant shade of red it had been in the other world.
"I use Alchemy to help in mining in Baltil, and Artificing to create magical items. Theodore Thuxra is someone I study quite closely."

It hadn't been often that he would bring the pendant out from its secure hiding spot but when he would, he would simply look upon the hair, gazing at it for there was a part of him that was left untainted by madness or malicious. That part had always been for her since they swore to one another. Ever since, it had been buried greatly beneath the darkness and now some of it had been coming back up to the light. Neither that or the locket were meant to be seen by another other than Scarlett, but given this turn of events, it seemed to make sense that she was allowed to see them from the lord. He seemed pleased a bit to hear that somewhere inside her, the one he knew still existed and harbored feelings for the demon still. "I see. How do you feel about all this though?" He took notice that despite his blessing, she hadn't taken to the portal out of here yet. Was it because Scarlett's former self kept her there or was her current self too curious to walk away from the only man that could possible help her answer the questions that had plagued her for so long?

It was hard to say.

When Xunatar asked her about herself, he had no other motive in mind other than to learn about her. Her story differed greatly from the other's. But they shared similar traits, the obvious was their stubbornness, he noted. "A tragic start, but you not only thrived, but you prevailed. Many lack such a strength to go on the way you have."

"Not sure on how much you can recall me from before, but I haven't been as I am now, not always. When we had met, I was more of a trickster with an unique sense of humor. I think I acquired it from the day I completed my training and the trials I was put through to find my ranking. The torture seemed endless and my body looked as though it went through a gruesome war before I was elected prince. Before we had met, I had been a prisoner of the drow for so long, it felt like decades. Though they weren't as bad as the demons, they did a bang up job time and time again"{ He frowned in remember his hatred of the darker elves and what they had done to him, but with a wave, he got over it. "In any case, I am far older than either side of you and have extensive knowledge of this world around us.I recall…that your parents had once warned you about me, but you hadn't cared. Perhaps that was what led for you to…" He was hesitate on finishing his sentence but he cleared his throat and watched her carefully.  Xunatar didn't want to scare her away, not after all that he had learned today. But they kept running into the same problem no matter what road they went down.

Scarlett shrugged slightly, briefly looking at the portal, but clearly not in a hurry to leave. When Xunatar asked her how she felt about everything that was transpiring, she didn't answer right at first. She thought hard, her mouth screwing up slightly in a half-puckered way as she ran her thumb and index finger over her chin and upper lip.
"That's hard to say. I'm intrigued, honestly," she admitted. "If you had been any other person, I would have taken that portal without a second thought… but its you, and we have a history that I wouldn't mind revisiting. I'd like to make sense of all these memories I have. Maybe then I'll stop feeling like 2 separate beings and just start being myself," she said simply with a slight shrug.
"I don't know about having strength that others don't. I just did what was necessary for my survival," she said dismissively with a slight wave of her hand. "But thank you."

She watched and listened to him, and his story. Much of it was familiar, but different in the same way, or at least more detailed. She gave him a slight smile and laugh when he brought up the parents warning her about him. That's right, her otherself had come from the Underdark where he had spent time as a prisoner.

"The forbidden fruit. I do remember that," she chuckled softly. "That much, I know, hasn't changed. I'm plenty smart, and can come up with solutions to problems on the spot, but I have no claim on Wisdom. I'm also known to be a bit rash and ever so slightly impulsive," she told him. "Does that at all sound like the girl you knew?" she asked him curiously.

"I don't know if things will be the same like they were then, but I am not afraid to try a hand at… this… whatever we care to define it as. I'm well aware that it is my best interests to make sure to align myself with you, it is just sound logic. I can only hope that I can be as useful to you."

Despite their rocky start, he hadn’t wished for her departure just yet. Not that he would be willing to admit it, but ever since he learned that she was not only a resemblance to his lost lover, but she was essentially her and not her at the same time. The rifts had been both kind to some and cruel to others. Those that cross over the boundaries had either integrated with their Revaliir selves or became either the dominant or submissive side. In Scarlett’s case, it appeared that the former was chosen for her. As painful as it was, it seemed that there were still remnants of her in this variation of her.

She didn’t seem eager to end this session either and the god inched closer to her, allowing for the rose tinted glasses to fade from his sight. Like the other one, Scarlett was very pleasant on the eyes, perhaps a bit more curvaceous now. He didn’t bother to hide his glances though it was known that he wasn’t just one that sought for flesh. He craved intelligence from others, it made playing with them far more appealing. She was smart and caught onto things rather quickly. When it came to her response, he couldn’t help but to let loose a small smile from the corner of his lips. Just it was just like her to find such a creature capable of harm to be fascinating. It was what lured her in in the first place. And it was her persistence that made him see her as a capable lover and partner. “You may be different, but I can see as plain as rain that you still share some of her attributes. And then there are some that she lacked that you have personally.” He came closer to her, yearning to touch her skin, to feel her lips against his own once more but he refrained. “I have…missed you since coming here. It had been too long since I saw those eyes but I was sure it was all just an illusion out there.” Perhaps she was the only light he would allow in his darkened kingdom and should fate try to take her again, there would be hell to pay.

The portal didn’t seem to be needed anymore, so he dismissed it with a wave of hand towards it. “Many lack that instinct you have. I am aware you use your mind and figure out what you need to do to thrive. Others are too caught up in morals and laws to see differently from you or I”, he expressed softly, offering his hand toward her. “We do have much to catch up on, my dearest.” Xunatar chuckled deeply as he let the memories roll by. Soon they manifested before them, replacing their surroundings with that of the tavern where they could see a younger version of him with short white locks planning something at his table. Not too long after that, the other world’s Scarlett came out and they played around to see who would come to who first. He decided to make her jealous after a while with the barkeep and ultimately she kept her cool and they talked and talked. Despite his attempts to dissuade her, she was strong willed and she knew what she wanted- him. She wanted the devil all to herself and whether he wanted to admit it or not, he believed her and he obliged. They practically seduced one another until they came into the room. Xunatar would stop the visions they oversaw whenever Scarlett had enough of them. If not, then he would let them play out in front of them.

“From what you are seeing, does this not seem like you? Your will, determination and your ability to seek what you want and claim it?” As far as her allegiance to him, he had some ideas he would run past her, but the business portion could wait for a bit.

She felt as well as saw how his gaze swept over her, and she actually gave him a raised eyebrow look that said "Really?" with out her actually having to say anything. She was half tempted to stand up and do a little twirl around so that he could just see whatever it was that he was trying to gauge. She didn't shy away when he stepped closer to her like she might have done a few minutes ago.

"I'm sure that there are going to be things about you that are a little different than I remember, even IF you came through the more dominant side than I did," she said. She did something surprising, even to her at that moment and actually raised her hand to him, offering to let him touch her, a gentle response to his words about missing her. It was simply the means to prove to him that she was not an illusion, and never was. Her hand met the hand that he had offered. "You are right, we do," she replied. Her hands might not have been as soft as he remembered, for working in mines and with chemicals had left her hands quite calloused, quite different from the girl who had been the daughter of a tailor in the other world. His hands were soft though, but strong, and she knew in the blink of an eye they could become dangerous weapons. But it had always struck her how delicate and gentle those hands could have been. He barely needed to stimulate the memories, for they were going through her own mind as well. Now they played out before her, and she couldn't help but let out a girlish giggle at how borderline ridiculous the pair of them were, trying to seduce and get under each others' skin through jealousy. She didn't need him to show her what had happened once they reached the bedroom, since she had dreams of the things that had transpired when their bodies had joined. It had caused her torment in those sleepless nights because until now, she had never been able to pin down if they had been real or dreams.

She chuckled softly. "Maybe not me in what I have experienced in this life so far. I have not been so… fortunate to do what we once did. But you aren't wrong. I don't let things like stigma and taboo get in my way," she replied firmly as she looked at him her amethyst eyes glowing again. "And if the Lord of Lies still desires my touch, who I am to say no?"

It wasn’t hard to use one’s imagination when it came down his relationship with Scarlett. He truly had a keen interest in the woman that would forsaken everyone and everything it seemed to be by his side. She had a fire about her that he craved and like a moth to flame, he obliged to her once before. It wouldn’t have been too difficult to convince him again of what they had. Despite his title, he was genuinely captivated and had truly missed the little vixen that pledged to no one else’s. He pondered on whether such a promise had remained in her in their time apart, but it wouldn’t have mattered to him if it hadn’t been kept. He had long thought that she was gone from this world and she seemed to have believed that he was nothing but a dream.

His hand captured hers briefly; her hand was far different than what he was used to and yet there were remnants that had reminded him of her touch before. How he had once known this hands to grace his form in their encounters. If there were any question of whether this was reality or if he really had been duped by some illusion, the self doubts were conquered and he knew her to be real. “There is. I have learned much in my time now and my way of thinking things through hand changed as well. Perhaps the only real thing that changed would be my sense of humor”, he spoke, letting out a soft chuckle just as the their scene changed into one that was played in what felt like eons ago. She appeared amused as well at their game, something that he looked back at times and shook his head. “Yes, I see that in my younger years that I played such silly games when I was afraid of seeking what I wanted. Now?” His eyes turned to her, filled with a carnal hunger. “Not so much. I seek what I want and I do it rather carefully if I must. Otherwise I pursue it.”

The lord was amused by her words and he sat onto the bed beside her and looked on. “Perhaps not, but I believe that you do still carry such traits and applied them to nearly every other aspect  in your life. You were always one that wanted to prove yourself, if not to others, then yourself personally. His hand slowly rose to beneath her chin, allowing for the faintest of touches to grace across her beautiful skin. “Is it because…you can’t say no? Or you won’t say no?”, he said, his own eyes shimmering in the light as he inched closer to her. His hand now stroking against her cheek and side of her neck. “Just as before, I can hardly let you leave my side if we explore what had once been lost. I don’t think I would be able to bear it…”
