Somehow the door was unlocked despite having not budged earlier, and the cat helped itself to whatever was inside. Before she could call out to it to tell it to stop, the long-haired feline was busy rummaging through the contents of the storage closet they had discovered. Nazcali found his staff and a couple other weapons that weren't his stowed away here, and apparently the cat recognized something among the pile too. The cat pulled a bow and quiver towards them, as if implying they should take these along, before dashing away. "Somehow I feel the cat knows more than we do." The Mamlak man mused. "Perhaps… They do say beasts have a keen sense of smell and can predict disasters. The cat hasn't led us down a wrong turn so far." And no sooner did the words leave her mouth when she saw where the cat was headed–towards another locked door at the end of the hall. The minstrel watched as the cat leaped in the air, then pushed against the door causing it to open without any resistance. They all expected another well-furnished room like the one they had found Nazcali in, but nothing they knew could have prepared them for this.

The fragrance of the flowers was almost suffocating, even worse than anywhere else. There were no windows, and the light source was the soft sunlight that filtered in through a stained glass skylight. There was a great deal of humidity that became muggy thanks to the lack of ventilation. There were many decorative containers full of lotus plants growing in water, and there was an unconscious man propped up on a chaise couch in a mess of cushions and sheets. The amount of plants in the room was immense to where they were spilling out onto the ground. It was hard to navigate with so much ornate yet cumbersome clutter on the ground. The cat would leap over things, tiptoeing around objects until it reached the sleeping stranger. Immediately the cat climbed onto him and began to furiously rub itself against his neck and face. Mewing pitifully, it kept gently headbutting in a desperate attempt to wake him up.

When that failed, it began to bite at the pillows and sheets around him, tossing them onto the ground. Most of them were removed without difficulty, however the last layer proved to be unusually stubborn. Upon closer inspection, the cause was clear–the sheets had been twisted to keep the man restrained by his hands and feet. The cat attempted to tear the cloth with its teeth and claws, but the slippery texture made it hard to get a hold of. Taking a dagger, Naija knew they needed to help. "Nazcali, you take the hands, I'll take the feet. We don't know how much time we have before someone finds out we're in here so we must work quickly!" The man understood, and together they freed the cat's owner. He was still unconscious, and nothing they did seem to wake him. Pinching, shaking, slapping his face, even application of a nevermelting icicle did not rouse him from his stupor. At last, the cat began to groom his face, running its rough tongue all over his beard and hair. After a few minutes, the man's mouth made a grimace and he began to stir.

Bringing a hand to his face, it found itself buried into the cat's thick fur coat. Slowly he opened his eyes, and saw the cat purring–sitting on him. The cat began to rub itself against him again now that he was no longer asleep.

Fly me to the moon, let me play among the stars–let me see what spring is like on Jupiter and Mars…
