The occasional bouts of boredom that Dalanesca experienced while essentially trapping herself in her own realm had grown more and more common. The many remedies she had found to occupy her time were beginning to grow rather dull and tiresome, only adding to her boredom after having become so repetitious. The overwhelming sense of boredom had grown to be too much, and thus, the goddess decided to take the chance and leave her realm.
Adeluna was a familiar city to her, and she assumed that placing herself into familiar surroundings would help her keep her cravings if one could call them that, under control. With the help of a few close allies, Angela’s champion, Serci, in particular, she was much more herself these days. Heading to Adeluna rather than a less familiar place would avoid any strange happenings that might take place.
Well, those were the goddess’s hopes, at least.
Upon emerging from the portal she had created that had transported her not far outside the city’s walls, she made her way through the gates. She had, of course, cast an aura spell over herself. While her appearance remained the same as ever, there was no chance at all that anyone, lest they be a fellow deity with as much power as she, would be able to recognize her for who she really was.
Her boots clicked against the pavement as she walked, taking a shortcut through an alley to head to her favorite destination in town, The Winking Mermaid. Though mortal liquor no longer gave her any sort of inebriation, the taste gave her a hint of nostalgia and she enjoyed imbibing on occasion. So, she had set her sights to that - head to the tavern, have a few pints and a bit of whiskey and then make her way back to her realm (unless anything else interesting came about).
Her plans came to a screeching halt, however, when she saw what was taking place in the alley that she had chosen for her shortcut. Two men stood with their backs in her direction, clearly threatening the female form in front of them. With her ethereal hearing, she was able to discern that they were speaking of the female’s feathers. An angel, she thought to herself. She hadn’t met one of those in a very long time - perhaps that was the entertainment she was looking for on this day.
She made her way silently towards the trio, and when she was near enough to both of them, her hands shot out, finding their targets.
What the being standing before the men would have been able to see, would have been the two men freezing in place, each dropping their weapons to the ground. Their eyes became rather hollow looking, and soon they crumpled to the ground. Standing behind them was a rather petite yet curvaceous woman, clad in a mixture of black and red leather and lace. She looked very, very out of place - as did the two hearts she clutched, one in each hand, each still dripping blood. It was clear that she had ripped them clear out of the men that had once stood there.
With a glance at the unknown angel in front of her, Dalanesca tossed the hearts to the ground, stepping over the corpses of the men she had so easily dispatched. With a swift motion, she raised her left hand to her lips, drawing it between her lips and tasting the blood. She cringed, not enjoying this one’s flavor, and advanced towards the angel. ”You can put that away,” she said, gesturing towards the sword that the angel held. ”I’ve no intentions to hurt you. They were boring,” she said, rather nonchalantly, considering she had just murdered two men in cold blood. ”You, on the other hand, seem rather interesting,” she added.
Noticing that the angel seemed a bit concerned about the fact that there was a murderer standing directly in front of her. ”Well, no point in keeping secrets after that display,” she added, and allowed her aura to drop for the angel in front of her. ”I am Dalanesca, I am the Reaper, the Siren, et cetera, et cetera… whatever title you choose to call me… though I mostly just prefer Dalanesca,” she said, her eyes flashing momentarily to a deep crimson from their typical icy blue. She looked the angel up and down for a moment.
”Can’t say I’ve seen an angel in these parts in recent times,” she said. ”So, what’s your story? What brings you to Adeluna? And, more importantly, I suppose, your name?”
