Albrecht stood his ground as the other sell-swords filtered away.  He glanced down at the fallen mage.  The old man was not actually dead, though it was easy to make that mistake.  He was, however, concussed and unconscious so the fencer rolled the man sideways so as to avoid him choking on his own vomit.  He would probably wake hours from now, feeling as though he had been kicked in the head…oh, wait.  Albrecht chuckled at his own monologue.

Returning to the tavern, a few of the patrons shied away. Spotting another young serving girl, he began to walk toward her. She trembled as he grabbed her hand as her mind flashed to the fight. But rather than break her arm, Albrecht pressed a couple of silver coins into her palm. "For the mess," he explained. Then came another handful; "For the healer," she said, nodding to the unconcious man. Once more coin slipped into the girl's palm. "For you."

Taking his leave from the girl, the mercenary headed upstairs before climbing to the roof, where he found Izzey waiting with his bag. Slinging his pack up, he said, "All that fortune is through here I take it?" He indicated the odd portal. "So I just step through and you follow,", he said. It was not really a question. Without waiting for an answer he stepped forward…
