Ha Neul

Character Info
Name: Ha Neul
Age: Ceased
Alignment: TN
Race: Reanimation
Gender: Female
Class: Soldier
Silver: 2521
As the armored soldier continued to tear through the massive assault of rotted and dehydrated carcasses, the screams of the endangered life of an elf greatly distressed her. She worrisomely glanced back at the elf's dire misfortune from time to time, whenever she could, in the midst of her lonesome defense. However, the soldier had her own wellbeing to focus on, and therefore could not do much else but hope that Larka would make it there in time. Eventually, the massive accumulation of approaching undead carcasses had completely obstructing her view, rending her unable to further observe the situation of the elf. When the screams finally stopped, Ha Neul hopped that it was due to an undead threat being eliminated, and not because an unfortunate elf had been slain.

"How are you making out?!" Later came the familiar voice of the mercenary, as she cut through the hordes, and rejoined the battle. Upon examining the mercenary's demeanor, she did not seem to appear deeply sorrowful as if she'd just lost a wife, and therefore Ha Neul had assumed the recuse was a success, bringing a feeling of great relief upon herself. "Getting bored!" The armored soldier shouted back playfully, with a smirk, as she dismembered another incoming mummy. The expression was short lived, however, upon witnessing the unhealing wound upon the mercenaries back. Ha Neul had been far too engaged and focused in battle, to notice it earlier. "Will you be ok?" She spoke, in her usual nonchalant tone, while her eyes communicated her concern.

As the battle raged on, however, something suddenly dawned upon the soldier's mind. Despite the great massacre from the three, and the massive piling of rotten corpses, rather than diminishing, their undead adversaries seemed to be increasing. In fact, it seemed as if the whole entire undead city itself were solely focusing all it's efforts upon the extermination of the three. This brought a question to the soldiers mind; Where was everyone else from the group?
Slicing through another large group of undead bodies, her eyes began to scan around the surrounding city, revealing a rather startling reality. All about the battlefield, could be seen the scattered bodies of their slain comrades. "What the hell..?" She mumbled upon witnessing the disaster, with slightly widened eyes.

Turning back to her still two breathing comrades, "Were alone here!" She exclaimed through the sounds of battle. By now, the massive accumulation of sweat upon the battle hardened face of the soldier, and her deep and heavy breaths, was revealing that even she was beginning to feel the effects of fatigue and heat, to the point where it was now effecting her performance. Strongly shaking her head a few times, as one does when they are trying to keep themselves awake, and from passing out, she continued, "Any further attempts to clear this city, with just us, is futile. If we want to accomplish what we were sent here for, i'd suggest making a run for the pyramid. Unless you want to end up like 'them'." She continued, pointing to the bodies of a few slain comrades in the distance. "But we need a way to block the undead from following us into the pyramid, unless we hope to become completely overwhelmed by them, without an escape route."
CelesteJN

Character Info
Name: Celeste Nash
Age: 36
Alignment: CN
Race: Elvish
Gender: Female
Class: Water seeress
Silver: 387
Celeste had originally lost her balance, but managed to remain on her feet when Larka kicked the mummy. The elf was still drowning in the fear of being unable to escape that creature. It was such a harrowing experience that she was an emotional puddle which her wife was desperately trying to scoop up with a single hand. Larka gave her an ultimatum. Either stay near Larka and fight, or go back to camp. Would stay here if Celeste were to return? Refusing to leave her wife in the midst of danger, Celeste stooped to retrieve her weapons.

Her sword was still buried deep within the corpse before them. Unable to pull it out still, Celeste began to stomp on its chest several times, slamming her foot against it has hard as she could each time. The brittle bones crumbled to dust with her efforts, revealing her sword. Weapons in hand, the elf hurried to catch up to the humans. With Ha Neul giving her observations, Celeste's eyes scanned the surrounding area, spirits dropping even further. What chance did the three of them have if everyone else had already perished? "Leave that to me." It was noted that of the three of them, she was the only one capable of magically ensuring their safety.

Pulling on what moisture she could from the water she had dropped earlier, Celeste had managed to pull half of the previous quantity. It gathered in two separate oblong shapes. Flattening out, the two shapes began to spin faster and faster as a top, yet flattened further out. Freezing into circles with saw-like teeth, they turned into weapons that swooped in, mowing through the zombies surrounding them. Sweeping back and forth before her, Celeste led the way, running deeper into the city. The sounds of the mummies began to die down behind them as they began to put distance between the creatures and themselves. Her saws began to rotate around them as the planets dance around the sun, orbiting and providing protection from any they happened upon in their retreat.

After the three of them entered the pyramid, her frozen weapons jammed into the ceiling right before the entrance. Celeste had them split into shooting icicles, burrowing deeper into the chiseled stone. She turned, concentration completely upon her work, hands raised, poised exactly as she wanted her ice to act. Stone groaned as the elf visibly strained, until finally, her hands pulled on the invisible thing before her, the arch entrance crashing down to fill the pathway with a thunderous roar. Dust and debris finally settled to reveal that Celeste had collapsed to her hands and knees, breathing hard and drenched in sweat.

The antechamber was dimly lit by candles, as if someone was anticipating their arrival. While there was two exits on either side of them shrouded in shadows, it was the pathway directly opposite of the now destroyed entrance that was lit, beckoning the three weary adventurers further in. Strewn about the room were fresh corpses of adventures who had lost their fight after attempting to seek shelter in the pyramid like the women were. Light, slow steps could be heard coming toward them until finally, they could see half shriveled, partially wrapped mummy before them. The legs were bent oddly, arms held close to the chest, fingers appearing as broken claws. Truly, the whole vision was terrifying.

It stopped right on the inside of the room, empty sockets regarding them soullessly. One arm stretched out with no attempt to control the limp hang of the hand. "Arise" The word was breathed by the raspy voice, almost inaudible. Three of the dead adventures snapped and cracked as they sat up, shifting their broken limbs, willing their muscles to obey as they were commanded. As they stood, there was something obviously happening. They appeared to dry out, their decomposition vastly hastening, appearing more like the mummified creatures they encountered outside. All the while, the one who spoke began to stand straighter, legs no longer bowed, and a little bit of revitalization returning to its cheeks, looking slightly less leathery.

Celeste groaned as she sat up on her ankles, looking back at one of the minions. "Necromantic mummies? Is there no end?"

Larka

Character Info
Name: Larka Nash
Age: Mid 40s
Alignment: CG
Race: Human
Gender: Female
Class: Berserker
Silver: 0
It looked as though Celeste had decided to stay and fight, which Larka was happy for, hoping it was a good sign. Larka went back to help Ha Nuel out and grinned at her reply to Larka's question, however, Ha Nuel turned the questioned around and Larka knew she was more asking about the wound on Larka's back. ”I'll survive.” Was her reply, but Larka knew that, with none of these mummies having blood that she could draw power from she wouldn't be able to heal herself like normal, which meant she wasn't able to use her powers to their fullest. Fighting the undead was always a tougher fight for Reavers because of this limitation, yes they would still grow stronger from being wounded, but without that blood, that key to their arsenal, they couldn't heal the wounds in order to gain more to gain more so strength and so on. Larka was working with a limited power supply, and she knew it, if she pushed herself to the limit by getting too wounded when the power faded, as it would, she'd be weakened. Even so after so recently drinking the concoction, truth be told, Larka was regretting drinking it so soon, she should have saved it for this kind of situation, or one more dire, when that surge of power could have been better served.

Ha Nuel called out again, stating they were alone, the rest of those they had been fighting with were now dead. That left the three of them fighting a growing horde of mummies as they closed in. Larka turned to look at Celeste when she spoke, curious to see what she would do. She watched as Celeste pulled what little moister she could from the area and formed it into the spinning discs of icy death, Larka smiled, always amazed at what Celeste was able to come up with for her ice powers. Larka took off, sword held out as she followed Celeste forward to the pyramid, watching the blades of ice power through the mummies as they ran.

They made it inside and Larka watched as Celeste brought the entrance down behind them, hopefully there was another way out then. When Celeste dropped to the floor, exhausted, Larka went over and squatted down next to her, pulling her close for a moment to kiss her forehead. ”Well done, my love, and here.” Larka had reached into her bag and removed another canteen of water and held it out for Celeste to take. ”I have one more if you need it, or you can take it now, up to you.” Larka informed, and would get the last of the water if needed.

Sweat was pouring off of Larka's face though she was trying to ignore it, stinging her eyes and stinging the wound on her back as well. She had no idea how Ha Nuel was still wearing that armour of hers. Larka stood and went back to Ha Nuel. ”Damn, we aren't the first to make it in here I see.” Larka spoke looked around at the corpses, but then heard the foot steps coming towards them and raised her blade.

The thing that was walked towards them was something out of a nightmare and Larka was ready to lunge at it when it raised its hand spoke. That sent shivers down the veteran warrior's spine and the cracking and popping of the newly undead made her skin crawl, everything about this was wrong! ”Starting to regret drinking that concoction when did.” Larka grumbled stepping closer to Celeste after she spoke and sat up a little.

The new mummies still gripped their weapons, however, and one took a run at Larka. The Reaver parried the attack and kicked out catching the thing in the knee. It stood down and Larka rammed her blade into his chest before quickly removing it and going to take a step back to allow it to fall. But it didn't fall, these weren't normal mummies, they were stronger, and so it stayed upright and swung its blade again, much to Larka's surprise. Larka howled in pain as the mummies blade sliced a gash across her belly, it wasn't deep enough to be fatal but it was painful and it was bleeding. Larka snarled in pain as her eyes went blood red as her powers kicked in.

“Old, blood.” The thing that had raised the mummies spoke from the shadows, seeming to sense the dragon's blood that was now a part of Larka now that she was freshly bleeding again. That probably wasn't a good thing.

Larka swung at the mummy again and their blades clashed but she was now that much stronger and pushed back, forcing it back against a wall. She rammed her blade into its stomach this time and left it there, not exactly pinning it, but it gave her enough time to get her gauntlet back on and smash the things face it against the wall behind it. The gauntlet away quickly Larka got her blade back to her hand and turned to see how her wife and Ha Nuel were making out, ready to step in where needed.
