"Yes, it's quite a beautiful garden, especially considering its location in the desert."  Quis said, returning to the subject at hand.  In her mind she only wished she could help Aelwen out.  Although the power of a god is something amazing to have, being the child of one must not be as wondrous.  After she finished here she planned to research The Void and methods of healing a goddess to better assist her.  But for now, something far more important than a war between gods and a family being torn from the inside due to dying family members and forcing young adults into positions they're not ready for:  Flowers!

"It's appropriate you mentioned your mother was a goddess, Miss Aelwen, one of the reasons I have come all the way here was to research these gardens.  Surely it is not through simply watering and tilling soil such beautiful carnations can flourish in a desert.  Perhaps something more….divine is at play?"  Quis mused as she stayed with Aelwen.

Aelwen looked at the flowers and shrugged. “Arri’s oasis has always been here. Well before the Harena was a desert it was a vast plains. It got cursed by a god. However, the magic in this area from the water especially at the lake is one of the many reasons I think the flowers grow so well here. My grandmother has been here well over a thousand years and it has always been like this. Mind you not as well taken care of but it has always been able to do this.”

She tilted her head. “Arri has high spiritual energy due to a vacuum of spirits in a crevasse called the Casimir. I wouldn’t recommend the trip there. Get too close without protection and wards and your soul becomes consumed. Arri puts people to death using it for the most heinous crimes. However, I do suppose that Arri was actually spared from the desert as it’s not natural.”

Magic water.  Quis had heard crazier ideas.  As Aelwen spoke, Quis made notes in her book.
