Getting new clothes had been something on his list for quite some time, however with everything that had been consistently happening, it had been relegated to the bottom of his ever expanding list of things to do. To have someone, more or less, force him into doing it was probably better for him overall.
When Aspect had mentioned getting magically altered clothes, Drake paused, looking at her. “You know, it’s never something that I had considered. It does make sense though. We can get them here, and maybe I can have Raile or one of the twins look at it. Or maybe they know someone in the Rose family who can.” It didn’t really dawn on Drake that he hadn’t explained a lot of the names he was dropping, but when Aspect asked what he did for work, it gave him a bit of an opportunity to explain.
“Ah, yes…I do work here in Jayou,” Drake said with an excited smile. “It’s a bit of a long story, but Danwe…er, the woman from my dreams, and a thief boy named Xeik, well, we were chased out of Zets’ki by a guild of assassins. We ended up here, mostly broke, but as it turned out, Raile was opening a shop up here. Raile is…well, he’s a really smrat merchant who ended up business partners with twin Rosenites. One of them is this amazing smith, and the other one is a brilliant alchemist. Between the two of them, and all of Raile’s contracts, he decided to settle here. And, well, when we arrived, we needed work.”
“These look good,” Drake said as he looked over a few of the items Aspect had already chosen. “Technically, my job it as a bodyguard, but mostly I just help out around the shop as needed, and take care of errands as needed. He took the clothing offered by Aspect, and went to try them on. It wasn’t long before he popped out into the shop, sporting the nice, long sleeved shirts, matched with the sturdier work pants.
“I like them. They breath really well, and I can move easily enough in them. You have a good eye,” he said as he stretched out, testing the fabric. “Are you sure you want to pay for these? I’m certain I have enough for the clothing here.”
