While Mirannda watched the animals flee from this unknown danger, she was filled with a strange sense of dread. Not this many creatures flee from just anything, and they probably should too. She drew her sword and held it at the ready, waiting for whatever it was to emerge. Suddenly, there it was, an imposing creature looming almost four feet taller than she. If her knees would buckle, they probably would.

Her dread turned into outright fear mixed with bewilderment. How in the world was she supposed to take care of this thing without her magic? 'Remember, you asked for danger to kick-start your abilities.' But she wasn't anticipating a ten foot tall lizard! On the bright side, at least she'll be eaten by something with pretty colors. Mirannda directed her magic to her muscles, boosting her natural strength. If she can't manipulate the elements, at least she can still do something with her magic.

She ran forward with a mighty battle cry, attempting to attract the full attention of the beast. Jumping, Mirannda misjudged her distance and its speed. Instead of being able to slash at its face, she landed upon is back. To prevent herself from falling off, the phoenix stabbed straight down into the muscles. It roared in pain and anger, and Mirannd held on, trying to use her strength and pulled on the sword, attempting to steer the beast away from her spell casters while they worked up something else to further kill the thing. With any luck, perhaps they could have roast lizard for supper.
