Rhenakos didn’t really have a good excuse other than it was for Vela, but Lewis and Simone had agreed to help, regardless of it. They did owe him for a few different jobs. Lewis had been ready for a different type of job, and had been wearing a rather interesting set of garments. A sleeveless, tight fitting black shirt and pants to match, and one of the rare times he had needed a corset in order to help fit into tight spaces. His gloves came up high on his forearms for protection against a bowstring, and a hood to keep his identity sealed. The look wasn’t important to Lewis, but it definitely gave off a difficult to read vibe.
Perfect for an assassin.
“Let’s just get this over with,” Lewis said/ He silently agreed with Simone. A cloak for her would have been nice, but this was something so very last minute.
“Look, I just need some backup in case things go a little wrong,” Rhenakos replied. “Not to mention you’re the best tracker I know. You figured out where he was in no time.” They stopped in front of a rather seedy brothel, one that held quite a few different options, and was famous for ‘anything goes.’ There were a few people out front doing ‘business’, but Rhenakos ignored them and walked straight in.
“For the love of Raith,” Lewis snapped as he walked in behind the hunter, hoping Simone would stay outside. Knowing her though, she wouldn’t.
Rhenakos was already talking to the Madame of the house, already in a heated debate.
“If you’re here, you’re paying for a girl or leaving,” she said, fanning herself with an ornate, gold inlay fan. Her ruby studded dress shimmered in the light, and showed off just how much wealth her beauty and her girls brought her.
“Anything goes, right?” Rhenakos asked. “Well…I’m here looking for someone, and I’m willing to fight every bouncer you have to find him…”
The woman laughed, “Oh please. As if a scrawny little John like you can handle it. I have girls that could break you…for a price, of course. Are you sure you’d not rather that?”
As the argument continued, Lewis sighed, and crossed his arms impatiently. They were already getting stares, and several new customers had already walked in and were waiting on Rhenakos to finish.
