Belle smiled and laughed a bit. "That is one way to look at her yes. Those who have met her might find her a bit more chaotic for their wishes. An eye for an eye is her motto. She is not afraid to bring down the law and protect all those who mean a lot to her."

He was quite comfortable to lay her head against. She closed her eyes a bit and laughed. "My mother just lied to us and then wouldn't let us up until we swallowed the medicine. She is a terrible person some times." I wonder how the hell she is considered one of the better goddesses at times. The thought peaked in her mind and she was suddenly giggling about it.

She listened contently to his story about his father and smiled. It sounded like his parents were good people. However listening to how it turned out she shook her head. "As long as you are happy." Her eyes reached his and she blushed softly. "Well my mother is a healer and herbalist so I grew up around the trade. I lived in a temple for Earth for a long with my mother and twin sister Fern." So she was stretching the truth a bit. He was cute what was she to do?

"I decided I liked what my mother was doing and I wanted to pursue exactly what she did. Clerical skills and herbalism are something that seems to run in our family's blood." She chuckled as she order them hot food and drinks. "I heard stories about my mother a lot from others growing up about how she wasn't afraid to go in the middle of a battle to tend to the soldiers. I wanted to be brave like her. This? This is just a part of the job. Even here in the Pirate Haven do people get sick."

She gave her thanks as they received mugs and she took a drink of the ale and thought about it for a while. She decided not to tell him who her mother was. It was better that way. "My next stop might be Edjora."

He shrugs, "Life is chaotic, anyone who says differently is selling something." Certainly that had always been Malleo's impression of life, the only order was what he imposed on his life, without that effort all he saw around him was pure chaos. He smiled to note Belle's head resting against him, probably just tired but he wasn't going to complain. Her mother's actions weren't exactly noble, but still sometimes children didn't want to do what they needed to, and if the medicine was necessary that excused at least some of it. "If the medicine was needed I can understand why she might have forced you take it, sometimes we don't want what we most need at the time and need to have it forced. On the other hand if there's a less imposed method that would be far better." Of course it was probably best that Malleo didn't know exactly who Belle's mother was, it would rather spoil his impression of his goddess.

His story seemed to have aroused some sympathy from her, he shrugged, taking the movement to give Belle a more comfortable spot to rest against. "I'm happy enough, I might not be earning as much as I could have if I'd followed my father's will, but I have a clear conscience, more so than I would have had." To the outside he probably wouldn't have looked much different whichever path he'd taken, both fought day in and day out, lived by the sword and killed without hesitation. But Malleo as a paladin saw his role as preventing death where possible, killing those who couldn't be redeemed so that the innocent might live.

Belle's story brought a smile to his lips, obviously she admired her mother's work, and her mother was obviously highly respected within the priesthood for stories to be told about her by others. "It seems to be that you're certainly managing to live up to her courage." While the city wasn't a battlefield, at least not this week, it was hardly a place to go about alone without having some kind of warrior training. "You do what you must for those here."

The mention of her possibly moving caused a slight tightness in him, a gut instinct he'd learned to listen to. "Maybe I could travel with you, there's only so much one man can do here, and I think I've about reached that limit." If he stayed longer he'd overreach and end up dead, no sense in that, it would mean he couldn't help anyone that way.

Belle giggled a bit and shook her head. "Who knows. All I know is my mother knows how to work the trade and she's been alive long enough to know the ins and outs of everything. If there was a better way to do it she would do it that way. She isn't one to beat around the bush or find pleasure in tormenting something. She just does what she needs to."

She understood where he was coming from in a way saving lives was one thing Belle loved to do. The blonde knew in her heart that there was always going to be a death somewhere but not every illness had to end like that. "Aye, I am trying to. My mother is a wonderful woman. After all she not only managed to do a healer's lifestyle but she raised a brood as well." She chuckled a bit. "I have a twin sister named Fern and there's at least a dozen of us." She didn't want to ruin this.

A blush came to her cheeks as she thought about his offer. "I would like that. I have to go gather herbs in the Laeto Rainforest next. If you would be willing to help me I would graciously pay for your meals and board whenever we go to towns." Eventually she would have to either ditch him, lie to him, or spit out the truth to visit the temple. It would be a hard decision.

"Tonight we should stay here. My mother always taught us to know when the weather was going to get bad. So tonight will be a poor choice to leave town."
