Jadira ran over to two soldiers who were having difficulty with a couple of drone ants. There were two drone ants along with one ant being a warrior ant. Jadira saw one soldier who wasn’t doing much in the battle. First things were first, she got the two warriors behind a boulder where they had a barrier of a sorts.

“Are one of you an archer?” She asked.

A woman with brown hair in leather armor nodded. The archer got out her bow and arrow and started shooting at the ants to keep them at bay for a little while longer. Jadira motioned the other soldier to come over and help them. He came over.

“I’ll distract them. I want you two to come at them from the sides while I attack from the front. Archer, I want you to keep shooting arrows. If one of them comes too close then change to your sword.” Jadira quickly spilled out her plan, “Got that?”

All of them nodded. Then Jadira leaped onto the boulder and lept off of it, towards the ants. They were surprised that she was doing such an attack, to just be leaping at them. Her Agility Spell allowed her to jump higher and to control the angle she was at. Jadira landed and moved to the side to dodge their attacks. She barely made the dodge and felt the wind of the claws as it almost hit her. Jadira used her sword to slice at one of them. It had missed. She moved in a sort of zig zag motion in order to avoid the hits and to keep the ants confused. It was a move taught to her by her trainer. With her enhanced agility this was easier to keep up. She made a few more slashes. At this point the ants had focused entirely on her since she was harder to attack. Just as she made a good attack on one of the drones, which left him without a leg, she was slammed up against a tree by a well placed kick from the warrior. Her sword had been knocked from her hand. Before she could move to grab it, the drone ant left had pinned her against the tree. Jadira was ready for what would happen next. But it didn't. Just as they were about to slice her, the two soldiers from earlier swung their swords while the ants were turned away from them. Her plan had worked, even if she had tripped up. They landed good enough hits that the ants let go of Jadira. She took up her sword again and plunged it into the chest of the soldier ant. Killing it. An arrow hit the drone in a good place. Enough to kill it.

Jadira smiled to her three other soldiers. They had done well. Now they had to fight the rest of the enemy. However she heard Lokir order them to retreat. She couldn’t understand why, since they were seemingly winning. But she respected his experience. Besides there might have been something he knew that she didn’t. The soldiers began to retreat.

“Archers, once you get at a safe distance, use your arrows to cover us!” She shouted to the archers.

Some of the people with bows nodded to her and continued running. Her plan was that once they got further back, they could cover the rest of the soldiers who were running away with their arrows which were better at long distance. Then they could continue running. She hoped it would work. Jadira then began to help the other soldiers retreat. First she attacked another one of the drones who was trying to stop a soldier from retreating. She had just enough speed and surprise to be able to cut off it’s arms. Then she sliced at it’s head, successfully decapitating it. This type of battle continued as she covered some of the other soldiers to allow them to retreat. Jadira then noticed a soldier ant approaching a woman with white hair and skin, Shyrus, from behind. Jadira was close enough and fast enough to prevent this. She quickly jumped high and manage to slam her foot into its head from the slide. Then she sliced her sword at it then sliced at it again. It was dead. Jadira was lucky to have caught it off guard. She suspected that the ants were having a more difficult time now since many of the drones and other ants were either dead or they had to deal with their own enemies and didn't have time to look out for each other as well.

Jadira didn’t have time to see if Shyrus was alright. She had been inching away with the others but still maintained in the fight if only to cover the others who were not yet retreating. She was slowly retreating with the others. Eventually she would begin sprinting along with the others but only when the other soldiers were able to get away first. During this entire battle Jadira felt less like a soldier and more like a calculating tactician. Every one of her moves had a purpose. Although they all didn’t hit, she ensured that each strike and each attack would at least count for something. And when she didn’t hit she made sure she had a way to survive the counter attacks. She had gotten hit a couple of times but luckily it was only a few scratches and bruises. Nothing that would take her out of commission.

Jadira knew that she was better with the sword and battle than almost anything else. She was terrible at dancing, social interaction, theft, playing music, singing, or sewing. However here she was finally good at something. Finally with every year she had trained everything she had learned, it was finally making more sense. There was still more to learn. Jadira needed to learn how to be a better leader and how to take down a large enemy on her own. But for now, she was doing alright. One day she would be strong enough to not need to worry about every single strike and to be able to protect everybody. To let none of the soldiers she was with to get hurt like the one with the giant ants did. But for now this is what she could and would do. She would improve eventually.

Hiro Kouen

Character Info
Name: Hiro Kouen
Age: 18
Alignment: TG
Race: Humanoid Elemental
Gender: Male
Class: Elemental Knight

Hiro stood strong, even though his body ached from being slammed against a tree, and having to parry his enemies' powerful blows.  The two soldier ants were weakened, but were still fighting.  As if getting impatient, the one that took the least amount of damage charged toward Hiro, thrusting it's spears at him.  Moving quickly, Hiro jumped over the attack, and twisted his body around, swinging his blade at the ant's giant eyes, blinding it in a flash of flame and steel.  The creature screamed in it's strange screeching, alien language, collapsing on the ground.  Hiro landed on its back, and motioned for the next soldier ant to come at him.  The soldier ant seemed to be sizing up his enemy, deciding its next course of action, when the soldier ant Hiro was standing on suddenly flung Hiro off his back.  Hiro was sent flying toward the other soldier ant, who launched a barrage of thrusts with both spears.

Hiro cursed, and swung his blade, trying to parry the thrusts in midair.  Hiro felt a sharp piercing pain against his cheek, and a couple of strikes against his armored sides.  The other soldier ant spun around, swinging one of its spears in a wide sweep, striking the Phoenix Knight with the haft of the spear, sending him flying across the battlefield, striking another tree, and smashing right through it.  Hiro coughed up blood as he hit the ground.  He slowly struggled to get back onto his feet, his whole body in terrible pain.  Maybe it was a bad idea to tackle the strongest two ants around.  He heard something about a call for a retreat.

Hiro gathered his strength as the two soldier ants gathered over him.  One was heavily bleeding from the remains of its eyes, which somehow did not entirely impeded its movement.  Maybe it shared senses with the other ants in the area.  He blinded two eyes out of many, and the second ant was entirely focused on Hiro.  Hiro had dropped his blade at some point, he was bare handed.  It was time for a desperation move.  This was something he had practiced before, but it was still difficult for him to pull off.  It was draining, especially when Hiro was already pretty drained and injured.  Hiro calmed his mind, and focused his senses.  He blocked out everything else around him besides his two enemies and what he was about to do.

He channeled his mana through his hands, crossing his arms.  His magical power started to increase as he focused more and more of his magic around him.  Then he split his attention, and focused on two different things.

Force of Flame.  Sharpness of Lightning.

Fire and electricity unite.

Flames start surrounding his hands, followed by lightning.  They both started merging together, forming an incredibly powerful combination.  It was super heated flame, further energized by electrical energy.

Plasma.

Hiro swung his arms outward with a primal scream, pointing them both at the soldier ants, and unleashing an incredible twin spell.  Jets of purplish, super-heated energy, ripped forth from the Phoenix Knight's armored hands, piercing through both soldier ants' bodies with a powerful crack, sending bits of burning debris from their exoskeletons flying.  The plasma carved right through their bodies, incinerating any bits of matter, be it exoskeleton, or bodily fluids, in a straight path through them.  The plasma died down around Hiro's hands, and two soldier ants collapsed, dead on the ground.  The young man's hands felt like they were burning, from the inside out..  It was some kind of backlash against unleashing that kind of power that he just started tapping into recently.

". . . Told you I had something worse planned.  Crushed you under my bloody boot!  Stupid, friggin' ants," Hiro quipped, as he spat on one of the ants he had just killed.

Hiro started limping toward the tree that he'd cracked in half, found his sword, and placed it back in its sheath, with great effort, since his hands were in such pain.  He started to follow everyone else who was retreating.  He'd consumed most of his strength taking out those two ants, and it took a great deal of effort to keep moving.  He felt his legs starting to give out from under him, when something or somehow managed to catch his upper body before he hit the ground.  He didn't know if it was a common soldier, or if it was a fellow warrior/volunteer who had seen what he had just did.  They started to help him keep up with everyone else who was retreating.

Lokir

He didn't like the idea of retreating anymore than anyone else, but this ease of fighting that some seemed to be having wouldn't last. Lokir hammered down another drone ant before turning to make his own retreat, as he did he spotted Hiro as his legs gave out. Lokir turned to head towards him, bashing an ant aside as he did and releasing one of his hammers to free a hand. Reaching Hiro Lokir dropped low enough to her a shoulder under one of the younger man's arms. Lokir proved that he wasn't as human as he looked as he easily stood up and hauled Hiro along, with or without the younger man's aid.

As they ran another soldier close to Lokir called out to him. ”My Lord, why are we retreating? We were winning!”

Lokir snarled at him, he'd have cuffed him if he wasn't helping Hiro and carrying a large hammer. ”Are we?! Look around you, boy, in that short time we have lost more than two thirds our fighting forces, and they are still coming at us! We can't sustain that at this rate, we need to get back to our main fort and reinforce it before they overwhelm us out here and cut us from everyone else!” Lokir explained, some of the fighters may have been more experienced and were having an easier time, but that didn't mean all of them were. Showed their level of battle field awareness as well, they were focusing on their own little fights, while Lokir was trying to keep an eye on the bigger picture.

Just as Lokir finished speaking a large feral ant burst from the ground having tunnelled under them, something else Lokir was afraid of happening if they stayed in one place too long. Lokir growled and practically threw Hiro at the other soldier who had questioned the retreat. ”Here, help him. Keep going.” Lokir dropped to all four and without stopping his run shifted into his bear form with a roar.

One ton of grey furred armoured fury barrelled towards the ant and then over it, the clanking of mandibles against Lokir's armour that had shifted with him could be heard. The bear God doubled back on the ant before it fully recovered and reared up enough that he could grab the big insect's head with his paws. There was a sickening crunch as Lokir caved in the ant's head before dropping back to all fours and turning to catch up to the rest. Big or not Lokit wasn't that slow in this form, even armoured, and soon caught up to his allies.

But he was forced to a halt when two massive beetle units dropped the from in front of them, cutting their escape route off. Lokir roared and charged forward, intent on making an opening for his people to get through. He got close enough to get his fangs around part of the beetle's leg but was unable to get through its natural armour. All that ended up happening was the beetle swatted him aside like he wasn't a better than two thousand pound living tank. Lokir flew for a bit before rolling and crashing into a tree with a thump, he didn't move for a moment or two but then snorted and started to rise back up again to all fours. That had hurt a lot, he could feel at least two ribs were broken, damn that thing was strong!
Shyrus

Character Info
Name: Shyrus
Age:
Alignment: CN
Race: Ice Dragon
Gender: Female
Class: Mage
Silver: 22
The leader of this whole ordeal, the elf, was doing a pretty fantastic job of leading her troops, giving them orders and having them do whatever was necessary to take care of the pesky ants whose numbers were dwindling. There wasn't a whole lot left for Shyrus to do here and she took a moment to stand around in her tattered blue robes and just take in all the chaos. There were the bodies of soldiers lying scattered everywhere, with the enemy insects here and there. Seemed like an awful lot of human bodies, when compared to the ants… Maybe the big fella had a point after all, despite the fact that he was attempting to override his commander. Still, there was a feral part of her heart that balked at the idea of running from a fight. The elf was running towards her, then, and did an impressive jump through the air that had her landing on something behind Shyrus. She turned slowly in place and watched as the elf dispatched another of the ant soldiers that had been sneaking up behind her. Damn ants. She looked around suspiciously, eyes darting as she looked for any other sneaky ants that might be trying to get the drop on her. Nothing, for now.

The elf took off again, after that, hurrying to catch up with the other retreating people. Shyrus decided that, if that's where everyone else was going, then maybe that was where she should go. There was a building light from a across the way and there was the mage again, his hands and arms sparkling and crackling with magic. Some kind of fire magic, it looked like. As she increased her pace from a quick walk into a slow jog she watched the mage unleash his magic on the ants in front of him. It cut through them easily, and through the tree. It was pretty powerful, but the fact that it was fire magic was just distasteful. That mage would have been better off studying something more elegant. Like ice magic. She considered going over to help him, poor choice in magic aside he was powerful and powerful people made wonderful companions, as it was obvious from his struggling movements that he had spent himself on that last attack, but on of the archers bumped into her. She narrowed her eyes, hissing as she rounded on the archer but they didn't even stop to apologize. How rude. By the time she turned to look for the mage again the big guy from before was already helping him along.

For all of a second. Some disgusting bug burst up through the ground, she realized later that it had been another ant, and the big fella was tossing the mage aside like a sack of potatoes before crawling around in the dirt like a dog. This behavior was strange enough to cause her to pause, but then her unasked question was answered. Fur began sprouting all over him as he grew into the form of a massive armored bear. The ant and the bear scuffled but the bear had the upper paw, tearing it apart with a satisfying cronching sound that Shyrus could hear from her spot twenty feet away. It was only when the bear began charging off through the tree, making an awful racket she had to add, that Shyrus realized she was all alone back there. She cursed, loudly, and rolled her eyes. Got distracted again. How was she going to find out how to best help these people if she was getting distracted and left behind? She wasn't. Best to get a move on, then.

She used magic to increase her agility, but her footwear didn't help. She must have stubbed her toe and tripped over roots a dozen times before she finally saw something going on up ahead of her. There was a massive blur, looking like a furry rock had been fired from a catapult and there was the bear shooting past her. There, ahead of her, were two big ass beetles. What was it with all the giant bugs in this damn place? With a grunt of disgust she decided there was only going to be one way to finish this quickly. Scales began to grow from her soft human skin, her face elongated, mouth filling with sharp fangs. As she grew, she tucked her coin purse and wand into her mouth in their accustomed spot so as not to lose them. She kept her wings tucked in close to her body, there was very little room between the trees for her true form as it was. Returned to her own dragon body she felt much better. Without thinking about anyone else that might be around she charged at the beetles, knocking trees askew as she ran up and slammed down her claws on the beetles. She expected to hear them squish beneath her, but the damn things held strong. Her eyes widened as she pushed down on them, shifting her weight, but it was no use.
Jadira

Jadira could understand now why they were retreating. Especially after seeing the amount of them that were left to retreat. She managed to use speed and some of her strength to slice off the head of a drone ant as she ran. Her agility spell that was still holding up helped with this. Jadira knew that her energy and strength would not last forever so she did her best to do what was only absolutely necessary in order to conserve it. Her eyes spotted the mage soldier she had seen earlier almost fall to the ground. Thankfully their leader managed to catch him and run with him. Jadira focused at the moment on making sure that the rest of the retreaters weren’t being hunted down by ants.

Suddenly a larger ant appeared from the ground. Lokir then pushed Hiro onto some other soldier and transformed into a bear. Jadira realized that Hiro and that other soldier would be moving too slowly. If only she had some way to heal Hiro or make it so he could at least run. But Jadira had no magical ability to do that sort of thing. Then she remembered the three greater healing potions that she had gotten a while back that still remained in her bag. The potions were expensive and Jadira was going to use it when fighting a stronger monster. However this was a more dire situation than just a monster battle. This was a war. Jadira silently cursed at herself for forgetting about such an important resource. Quickly, Jadira sprinted over to Hiro while taking a potion out of her bag on her back. She took the cork out of the bottle and handed the potion to Hiro.

“Drink healing potion!” She explained quickly.

At that moment they didn’t exactly have time to have proper conversation or use grand explanations. She just needed to get a message across quickly. Jadira then spotted two large beetles pop out of the ground ahead of them, blocking their way. Damn. Her mind raced to find some sort of strategy or plan in order to take them down. Then a bear charged at the beetles trying to destroy them quickly and the bear ended up being thrown back against a tree. It was obvious that these creatures were far stronger than Jadira. She didn’t have enough time or people to come up with a plan.

Jadira then realized that the bear, Lokir, would need a healing potion after a hit like that. She didn’t know if these potions would completely heal them or anything. They were greater healing potions but she also didn’t know how they worked. For all Jadira knew, they might have the power to completely heal the person or they might just only help a little. Still it was worth a shot. Jadira ran to him as fast as she could. By the time she was at him, he had already stood up. She held out a healing potion to him. If he was a bear it would be difficult for him to drink a healing potion at all. So she took off the lid and was half tempted to pour it into the bear’s mouth. But she didn’t really know if he would appreciate that.

“Health Potion” She explained simply.

Then she attempted to give it to the bear by shoving the bottle into the bear’s mouth. At least a little of the potion would get into him. Hopefully he wouldn’t choke…. Jadira didn’t think about that. Her attention was caught by the sudden appearance of a dragon. Jadira did her best to not freak out. She had always wanted to see a dragon. They were famous in legends and seeing one in person was a dream come true for her. Her face however, was serious as ever, even though she was thrilled and excited on the inside. Luckily, the soldiers knew enough to get out of a dragon’s way when it came charging towards them. Trees were being knocked down and people were moving back away from the dragon. However the dragon started holding down the two beetles. There was now a space, with the trees knocked down and the beetles being pressed into the ground, for people to get through and to escape.

“The beetles are held down! Get past them!” She shouted as loud as she could to the other soldiers.

The soldiers did not need to be told twice. They started to run through the small but open spaces. Jadira ran towards the dragon and did her best to fight off the remaining drone ants. There weren’t that many but no doubt there would be more coming. She pierced a drone ant’s chest with her blade. After removing her sword from it’s body Jadira spotted a soldier that had tripped and fallen. She helped up the soldier who had fallen. He was able to stand and run with the others, fortunately. Jadira continued running with the others while doing her best to keep them safe. Some had already gotten past the held down beetles. They were all so close now.

Hiro started to fall, he was caught by Lord Lokir who held him on his shoulder.  He was being a burden to the God at the moment, but he would have helped anyone else the same way who was hurt.  It was just frustrating to be injured like this.

"i-I'm sorry to weigh you down.  Thank you, m'lord," he said, gratefully as the God assisted him.  He listened to the conversation between Lokir and the soldier who believed they shouldn't retreat because they were "winning."  They were losing forces, people were getting hurt.  This was no victory.  They weren't winning.  The God nearly tossed Hiro toward the soldier, who barely managed to get hold of him, before charging off, shapeshifting into a bear force, and charging into combat.  A woman came over to them and shoved a bottle of foul tasting liquid into his mouth.  A healing potion.  Hiro accepted the explanation, and quickly drank the potion, feeling strength reinvigorate and return to his body.  His back didn't hurt nearly as much as before, and the bleeding wounds on his body started to close up.

"Thank you, ma'am!" Hiro said, with more strength this time.  He managed to stand up on his own feet now and was able to move on his own without any assistance.  Hiro followed the retreating forces, when a number of giant beetles emerged from the ground.  Chaos broke out as a white-scaled dragon emerged from the allied forces, and started holding the giant beetles at bay.  Hiro could feel a deep, powerful icy aura within this dragon, it appeared to be an ice dragon of some kind.  Hiro had been learning to use other elements besides fire magic, but water and ice were escaping him, since he was a being of fire, it would be hard for him to learn an opposing element, but not impossible.  It would take a lot of effort to learn water-ice magic.

A group of soldier ants started to emerge from behind the giant beetles, and moved toward their escape route.  Hiro growled and moved to the forefront, channeling magic into his hands, he swung his arms about in sweeping motions, and then thrust them forward, unleashing a blast of sharp, slashing winds, cutting through the insectoid forces, further opening a path for escape.

"This way!  While there's still a chance!"  Hiro called out, beckoning the forces to continue their escape.

[OOC: Wanna start wrapping up event threads now that it's over! If any of you want a follow up with Lokir at the end of the event, let me know :) Also, the picture of Jadira shoving a bottle into a large bear's mouth is hilarious and awesome to me!]

When Lokir got a hold of Hiro and heard the younger man speak Lokir chuckled. ”Trust me, you're not, and stop calling me lord, how many times do I have to tell people to call me Lokir!” It wasn't too long after this that Lokir was forced to shove Hiro into another soldier and take care of the giant ant that had appeared.

They continued for a bit before Lokir was knocked aside by the beetles, underestimating their strength and still not accustomed to not having his divine Strength either. The impact with the tree hurt, a lot, but by the time Lokir was getting his feet again he wasn't alone, the female elf that was part of his group had come to his side. Lokir hadn't met her before this day, but she was courageous and quick thinking, that much he had learned. Now she was here next to him, showing no fear about his current form with a healing potion for him to drink. When he didn't take it right away, since he wanted her to save it for others, she shoved it into his mouth instead, making him blink, she was a bold one!

Lokir managed to get his tongue around the neck of the bottle as he titled his head back to let the potion run down his throat. It was a strong one and quickly he felt the potion take affect, his pain lowered and then he could feel his ribs move back into place. They didn't totally heal, but they were no longer moving around in him when he moved, which was nice.

Before he could change back to human and thank Jadira properly a dragon, a damn dragon, appeared as if out of nowhere and started charging the beetles. Lokir glanced to Jadira, nope, she didn't seem to know where the big beast had come from either, so at least he wasn't alone in that. Jadira got moving just as Lokir did, and Lokir took a moment to shift back to human again as he ran, which was really awkward and he nearly fell as his legs changed, but long years of practice helped him stay upright.

”Move move move!” Lokir shouted as he got himself moving faster, catching up to and then assisting another soldier who was falling behind. As he passed by the dragon Lokir shoved the soldier forward and he went on ahead, and Lokit took a moment to call up to the dragon. ”Come to the fort in that direction! Get in the air if you can our war machines can cover us once we get within range!” He informed, doing all he could he continued on towards the fort. ~Fuck me I wish I had more magical ability than I do!~ He cursed in his own mind watching Hiro take out a few insects with some magical blades.

The fort in sight Lokir started to yell commands to those inside once he was within earshot. ”Open the gates and load the weapons, we have giant beetles behind us!” He ordered and after a moments thought added. ”There is a dragon with us as well, so watch your fire if you can!” He saw people scrambling to move to follow the orders and the gate started to open for them.

Lokir stayed at the entrance to make sure all of his people, including the dragon if it had gotten away, was with them and inside. As the insects got closer the war machines inside the fort started to open up. ”Fire at will!” Lokir called and then went to help with the operation of one of the weapons.

[Figure I'll finish up my involvement in this a month late, sorry guys]

Shyrus hissed her frustration, loosing a roar and blasting the beetle beneath her left claws with her icy breath. She was vaguely aware of shouting and movement behind and to the side of her, though she kept her attention focused on the two beetles that resisted her. As the left beetle's carapace froze it became brittle and finally there was a satisfying crack as it began to give beneath her. So focused was she on the beetle to the left her attention slipped from the other, which upon rearing up on it's hind legs was able to shake her loose. A shout, from the bear man creature told her to flee, a thought that was unpleasant though perhaps necessary. If all the others were turning tail and running then what sense did it make for her to remain? It ground at her, though, the thought of leaving a battle unfinished. Maybe if she just finished off these two then she would be able to accept the battle as being over. She backed up, wings vibrating with a desire to be in the air, tail swishing to and fro with agitation. As she gave ground the uninjured beetle moved to put itself between her and the other, protecting it. That showed an uncomfortable level of intelligence and empathy for a bug. She hissed at it, feinting forward with a lunge that she hoped would send the beetle skittering backwards, but instead it held it's ground. It was brave, and why not when it had just held her off? There was nothing left but to attack, she supposed.

She drew in air, filling her lungs and preparing to unleash the full strength of her breath attack upon the beetle standing before her when it lunged forward. She coughed out a half formed ice blast, more cold air than furious force of destruction, digging up clumps of earth as she scrabbled backwards. The beetle didn't press forwards, however, instead standing it's ground once more. She hissed, realizing it had just successfully punked her. It was going to suffer, she swore it. Instead of charging forward to attack it head on, an attack she was sure she could succeed in as it seemed to be focused on protecting it's companion, she instead spun in place. Using her claws to find purchase on the bark of the trees, she began to climb the nearest until she could open her wings fully. A few powerful beats later and she was in the air. She climbed quickly, circling the area the beetle had been in, forming a quick plan to deal with it.

The problem with taking to the air when attacking an opponent on the ground, in a forest, was that there were far too many trees in the way. It obscured the prey, made it difficult to reach it even if you could find it. She could have used magic, or her breath, to freeze and wither the greenery leaving nothing but bare branches, dead and easy to break through, but that seemed unnecessary. The beetles were doing one thing, and that was attacking the humans and other creatures that had attacked them. The human forces had fled, and apparently they were heading towards a fortress. Looking in the direction of their flight she could see the fortress and the killing ground around it. The beetles, and any other insect forces, would have to go that way if they hoped to hunt down their soft and meaty prey. A few humanoid insects were already appearing from the trees. Shyrus' tongue darted out, tasting the air in anticipation.

She didn't have to wait long. After the humanoid insects began charging it wasn't long until the giant insects appeared, and there with them were the two beetles, obvious because of the frost still covering the injured beetle's back. Shyrus immediately dove, straight down, wings snapping open at the last moment to halt her downward descent and then began beating them hard to regain altitude. She had snatched up the uninjured beetle in her claws, and it's weight made climbing through the air much harder than she had expected. She heard the sound of war machines being fired, the crash of boulders and other ammunition landing in the field, the screams of dying insects. She focused only on the one beneath her, though. Her aim would need to be right, but if she got it… She chuckled to herself as she reached a height she deemed suitable and dropped the beetle, hoping it would land true and crush it's friend. Without waiting to see the result, and having grown bored of this little war, she opened a portal to Adeluna and flew through.
