Sathm walked down the street, or more trying to move down the street without josling any of the groups of people enjoying the fine weather and the sights and sounds of the street. After all street vendors had appeared hoping to cash in on hungry people or those who would impulse buy some trinket or the other for whoever else might be with them. She had managed to find herself a spot on the street corner, not in the main traffic, the regulars had managed to lay claim to those spaces long ago. It did not matter to much to Sarria at least for the moment. She was interested in getting enough credits to get her out of town. That was the problem with travel it took more money than she tended to have on hand.

Therein was the problem. She may have ran afoul of the wrong group of people, although she would claim it was not her fault. After all, how was she supposed to know that rejecting the son of some high placed whatever would earn her a few well placed annoyances if not enemies. Although, she had to admit to herself the look on his face when the drink had hit it, had nearly been worth it even if in hindsight she might have over reacted just a little. Overreaction or no, she had the feeling there were people in town who might decide to make her life difficult if they were so inclined.

Keeping this in mind she was people watching among other things. She was looking for a mark of sorts. She wasn't a con artist exactly, or rather she was not a well practiced con artist. But, in this situation she was in need of someone who could either get her a ticket out of town or someone who might have enough resources to allow her to lay low at least for a little while, either one of these seemed like a good idea to her. All she would have to be was patient and someone would appear.

Or at least she hoped so. If not, well there were other nights that she could try to snag someone useful to her. The problem was finding someone who would be willing to be useful to her but without being so stupid that they were useless, it was a fine line that she was straddling. The other being finding someone who while being useful would not get her into a worse mess than she was already in.

It was rather refreshing to be in Wyllmochvar for Xunatar; for one thing, he didn’t have to worry so much about the high amounts of ignorance that came from the denizens of Canelux. While they were much like sheep that needed constant guiding from their deities, most of the civilizations in Parvpora were clearly more inclined to free thinking. With the exception of Kurayo because they were more so worshippers of the moon due to their afflictions and Abed though there was much more to their story. In any case, the devil was in his usual attire, silk robes of crimson and ebony and barren of any footwear though it seemed as though he was gliding over the ground itself gracefully.

His long white locks were tied into a ponytail and draped over in front of his shoulder and brilliant blue eyes gleamed over nothing in general as they watched his surroundings. It was busy as usual in the busy little city with its streets filled with citizens and vendors alike which provided plenty of potential fun to be had for him.

There just needed to be an instance of an opportunity to reveal itself to the devil.

One such presented itself as a homeless man was out begging for coin, though even from the distance between them, he could easily smell the strong stench of liquor beneath his breath. It didn’t take much effort to piece together where he would spend the donations at, and it wasn’t to feed his hunger neither. Xunatar, however, felt rather generous and approached the poor man and stretched out his hand to reveal a beautifully crafted ring. The man’s eyes lit up as he stared at the jewelry before looking to its owner for confirmation. “Go on friend, I always help a poor soul find their way to the best of my abilities”, he said so smoothly as he gave it away. Xunatar watched him thank him countless times before going off, likely to sell it and use the money as he seemed fit.

The ring itself was valuable but there was a curse behind it, one filled with horrors that awaited anyone that was bold enough to wear it. The man himself likely wouldn’t and would pawn it off, thus the promise to him was technically kept of Xunatar’s “good will”, but the true motives for giving it away was far sinister and it would return to him as it always had. With a satisfied smirk, he started to head off at his leisure, mentally laughing at the fun that the bearers would soon have.

Sathm of course was ignorant to any misfortune fate might have in store for her. Well, any more misfortune than had already befallen her. That was something she was no stranger too. For now, her concerns were more immediate, once her immediate personal needs had been met she would no doubt branch out to other things. For now, she was hopeful something might fall into her lap that would be of some use. Not that it was likely to happen, and being fairly pragmatic as she was Sathm didn't actually expect it to. But, she still held out some small sliver of hope that something would go her way.

She noted a few people who might stand out on a day, let along wondering the street at night. That being said unless they noticed her she did not throw herself at them. That sort of thing was a mixed blessing, often times such people would prove to be helpful, and offer her something she could use or mindlessly drop something and not think about that could be pawned or the like. Not that she was proud of those moments, but some times she did what she had to and tried not to over think the situation too much.

Sathm herself had not witnessed the scene with the homeless man or no doubt she would be more suspect of what was about to unfold. She herself came across the man and his misaligned ring not long after the man himself had received it. Nonetheless she had come to possess it, she had traded it for a small bit of money she had on her, it wasn't a large amount but more than enough for him to eat or drink for the night and perhaps in the morning if he had so desired.

That left Sathm to turn it over in her hand and study it for a moment, before slipping it onto her finger, not that she normally wore many rings, but she really had no where else to store it and figured it was safer on her hand than stored anywhere else.

A funny thing about cursed jewelry was that by either that of fate itself or by continuous strokes of luck, they would always find a victim that would have them. The ring itself was passed onto the elderly beggar and it wouldn’t take long for a mortal’s curiosity to wander and take something that would fascinate them. Fortunately Xunatar hadn’t been too far away as he turned around to spot the man cough up the pretty piece of jewelry over to a seeming young woman in return for money. Truly he had came out of the deal far better than she had, and a smile crept from the corner of his mouth as he turned away as to not attract any attention as his appearance changed before anyone’s eyes.

His white locks darkened to a chestnut color and his shifted from blue to green as well as his pale skin turning sunkissed. Bring his hand to his stubbled face, he smiled once more and slowly took his leisure in approaching her, stopping many times as if he was checking out the stores and such.

It shouldn’t be too long now- the ring would begin its magic on its possessor. It would start with a feeling like someone was watching from the corner of your eye, but then as you turn, they would disappear. The effects would magnify the longer the ring was on their finger and not too far from that would be the infernal screams that would reach their mind. But only they would be able to hear them, though seeming insane by all those around them. As beautiful as it was, it was equally as dangerous. All he had to do was wait to see how she would deal with the effects. Oh this could prove to be his entertain of the day, much of it had truly bored him so.

Rather she was meant to have it or not, Sathm had ended up with the ring and had been careless or ignorant enough to slip it on her finger. Nor had she noticed anyone watching her as she took it, well any one beyond the normal glances a person would receive on a crowded street. As no one was activity doing anything to make her uneasy she went about her day as she normally would cursed ring in hand.

Before she had put it on she had take a look at it in the palm of her hand, no doubt wondering where it had come from and how it ended up here. She was normally curious about such things, and this was no exception. It was a lovely thing, although she had to wonder what to do with it, with no better idea she slipped it on her finger and started to go about her way, not expecting any negative effect.

It was about then she had the feeling she was being watched, Sathm looked over her shoulder expecting to see someone behind her although her eyes told her there was nothing there no matter how long she stared at the corner to see if some one might appear. It was about that time she began to hear things as well. Although she lacked the words to explain what she was hearing if she was asked she was sure they were not good and the thing would be to get as far away from them as possible. Putting her plan into action she started off at a headlong sprint down the street nearly running down people unlucky enough to get in her way as she hurled herself away from where she perceived the location of the sounds to be.

The rugged young man watched discreetly with an eagle’s eye upon the unbeknownst woman. There was no hard feelings against her nor was he singling her out; it was merely by the hand of fate that she would partake into the curse. He didn’t need to wait for long as he continue to distract himself and blend into the crowd by observing the wares and sells of the vendors. There was nothing to truly that could pry his attention for too long away from her; why he would be licking at his chops if he could in anticipation of the torment that was about to be unleashed on her. His eyes narrowed ever so slightly when she started to display some of the effects from the ring.

Moving onto the next vendor, the demon inspected what seemed like a decorative sabre that was better suited to hang from a wall than for actual combative uses. The point of that was literally it’s tip and blade not being sharp enough which he tested by running his finger along the edge up to the tip. This left him a bit unsatisfied, but the demeanor of the woman more than made up for it. He pondered for a moment as she started to flee before it became obvious that she didn’t know that it was the jewelry that was afflicting her. Nay, she seemed to be running from the voices and sights, hoping to escape them in a futile effort. It made the man snicker as he placed the sabre back down and started to chase after her.

As he ran, a very entertaining thought went past him and as he rushed by people, he sought out a suitable lackey to help with his ploy. Those green eyes eventually found a strong and able young man helping a store owner to set up shop for the day when he channeled some of his magic onto the man’s shoulder by brushing against it with his hand and slowed down. His latest victim soon found himself filled with a void of envy before Xunatar addressed him. “That ring on the woman that ran by looked…very valuable. Perhaps it should be yours.”

The boy’s eyes grew wide with a hunger for the mentioned item and soon took off to chase her down, his mind diminished to a single thought as he drew closer and closer to her- he had to get that ring. Xunatar would soon give chase as well, though his actions wouldn’t seem as malicious in anyone’s view. No, the boy was going to be a useful tool in this game of cat and mouse.

Sathm might have a different sort of view on those recent events, but, no one asked her thoughts on the matter nor did she really know what was going on nor the entertainment view she might be providing to some people. She was more concerned with evading whatever hallucinations her brain had cooked up next. She did know however that there was something strange going on and it would be in her best interest to remove herself from the marketplace in an effort to remove herself from the situation all together. Even if that meant nearly running down any unlucky to get in her way. The offending person would find themselves pushed out of the way fairly quickly in her efforts to escape.

She was aware there was someone behind her. While the rest of the world saw a boy about to do something no doubt stupid. Sathm was fairly sure the boy was going to remove her head and take anything she might have on her. In an effort to save herself she would push away from the boy when he got closed enough. She was not holding back and shoved as hard as she was able. Which, should she be aware of what was going on she would be aware it was not what one did to boys in the market place.

As it stood, she was not exactly in her right mind at the moment and so saw the near assaulting of children as something people did to children when they did not wish to die. It did remind her, her life might very well be under threat, to that end she backed away slowly not taking her way off from the offending boy before turning and making a bolt for it.

How long had it been since the woman had slipped the ring on? How did her mentality combat against the voices and the images haunting her? Would she cave and fall or would she somehow, someway be able to thrive? Such questions and more flooded Xunatar’s head as he followed along. The young man, filled with a newfound envy towards the cursed ring continued to give chase. What he would in order to get the ring was anyone’s guess really; envy was a particular nasty little sin that could drive the most innocent of people into doing heinous things and order to get what was coveted. Murder wasn’t unheard of in these cases, and he had no doubt that it might have slipped the boy’s mind once or twice. The demon wouldn’t have that, not with his plan set in motion. So far, it was working beautifully and it did steer boredom away for him, which was the most important part out of all of this for him.

She was desperate, he saw it in her running and pushing the boy away. The ring was doing excellently and he could taste the fear radiating off her in the air. It was so exquisite, bring such ecstasy to Xunatar. The crowds watched on, many unsure as to what to think about the ridiculous situation set out onto prying eyes. Some kept their snickers to themselves and others shook their heads and thought what was coming of this world these days.

It was evident that no one was going to save the poor woman from her pursuer, all saved for the disguised gentleman that was following the two. He spotted the boy getting close to her again in his pursuit, so he quickened his pace and soon caught him by the collar and threw him down onto the ground with haste. The man tried to get back up to his feet, but Xunatar pinned him down with a knee to his chest. His hand went onto his face and from the sleeve of his arm seeped a dark gas that engulfed him for a moment before dispersing. Soon he was startled with disturbing images of hunters corralling him and putting him through all sorts of torture in front of a cheering crowd. While he couldn’t see what the man was going through, it delighted him to see such worry and fear but he kept his face serious as watched his victim cowered away from sight once he lifted his knee off.

“Dear lady? Are you okay?”, he called out to the woman, hoping that she would be close by to hear him”
