Warmth spread through Kythe's chest as she saw Rynn join the crowds; she had not seen the Draconic girl since their time together, she had taught her how to transform so that it hadn't caused her pain - she had promised it would be a slow process but Rynn had seemed eager regardless. Here was a place for Rynn to feel at home, to grow as she wanted in the safety and security of a place that would always welcome her with open arms - which was exactly what Kythe was looking to create for as many as required it.
Greeting the others as she made her way through the crowd, she put a hand on the girl's shoulder. "Now then, I'm glad you came," Kythe said softly, squeezing Rynn's shoulder as she smiled at her. "I wasn't sure whether you would answer my invitation or not. How are you finding us so far?" She asked.
She spoke with Rynn for a little while before taking her leave to greet some of the others, stopping only to dismiss Mordekai from her side - her Elven Cleric fussing over her for being too 'busy' despite the fact that she felt perfectly fine. Busy greeting the newcomers, and ensuring that the Au-Ra were comfortable having so many strangers in their home, Kythe had not seen her family arrive. Suddenly she felt arms about her waist and she smiled as Teu's scent filled her nostrils, the older woman closing her eyes contentedly as she leant back slightly, resting her head against her Granddaughters. "Well met my darlings," she replied, turning in Teu's arms to embrace the woman herself.
Enjoying the moment she opened her eyes to see the rest… though there was one she had not expected amongst their number. Her breath caught in her throat and she looked from him to Teu in disbelief, searching her Granddaughter's eyes for the truth in his presence. Kaya had mentioned seeing her brother, but had been guarded in saying anything - when pressed her daughter had found ways to avoid the subject, or in fact her mother, entirely. Kythe had known that Raith was in Revaliir; according to Kaya he had been the first to travel from Myna, but to see him with the others… and so tenderly helping Alairia from the cart, was a sight she had not expected.
Tears filled her eyes as she saw the two children standing beside him, Ria and Dae - she had not met them before, but she knew who they had to be…
Helping Ria and Cora from the cart, Raith sighed heavily, placing an arm around his lover's shoulders. His loathing towards his mother had… lessened, somewhat. Since Xyaban's attack he had begun to understand Kythe a little more, he doubted heavily that he would ever love the woman, he believed that they were far beyond such things now - but they might be able to reach a mutual understanding… and from what he knew of his mother she might come in useful in terms of destroying his enemy…
He felt Cora step back into his leg, her tiny body pressing into Ria's as she clung to the woman's clothes for reassurance. "Cora, Zion, that is Kythe, your Grandmother. You said you wished to meet her, why don't you go and say hello?"
"What if she doesn't like us…" Cora muttered, turning her large eyes onto her Uncle.
Raith sighed heavily and knelt down, putting a hand on Cora's shoulder. "Adults never give children much credit in what they know, however I am not so naive and I am aware that you are aware of how I feel about my mother. My hatred… well… dislike is a better word, for my mother is something that has been going on for a great many years, same as your mother's has. Your mother and I are angry at Kythe for our own reasons, some of which Luna and I will need to work through, however, what I do know of my mother is that she would not hate you two. Firstly you are her grandchildren, I think she's hardwired to kill for you on impulse. Secondly, and more importantly, that is not how my mother is… she will love you, I know that. Go on, go and say hello." Raith said, pushing the little girl towards his mother.
"By the Gods Raith, that sounded almost sincere." Kaya snorted as she moved past her brother to her lover.
"Circumstances have made me see the world in a slightly different light sister. Things have not improved entirely, but I am willing to hold my tongue, and my blades, at bay for the moment." He snarled in reply.
Kaya rolled her eyes, slipping her arms around Kiba's waist. "Your granddaughter has worked wonders on my brother, I must thank her at some point… you look wonderful by the way. When do I get five minutes alone with you to take it all off again?" She teased.
Cora and Zion shot forwards the moment Raith encouraged them to, both giggling as they grew their Dragon's wings to mimic those of Kythe. The woman laughed, opening her arms to the children and catching the pair as they clumsily flew into her embrace, tears flowing down her cheeks as she showered the giggling pair in kisses, her heart swelling at the sight of them. She had created this place to give a home and a family to those without one - she had never expected to regain her own in the process.
