Ernest raised one eyebrow. Was the goddess of death actually apologizing to her? It seemed very backward. She managed a half smile. "It's fine," she said. "I got this, at least." She lifted the piece of obsidian that she still had in one hand. That would be an incredible souvenir if she got out of here alive.

She felt a slight sympathy for the little lizard-man as he practically bawled his eyes out in front of Dalanesca. He had been incredibly stupid, yes, but was very, very remorseful. Her half smile widened slightly as Dalanesca bent down to console him. Perhaps the goddess wasn't all bad. She certainly seemed like she could be nice enough, when she wanted to be.

Right as Ernest was beginning to calm down again, three of the mummies wandered out of the pyramid. Dalanesca turned to them, and Ernest suddenly realized that she was expected to deal with one of them. She stared at the mummy that was now in the front for a second, then back at Dalanesca. A brief memory stirred in her head, from when Angela had died. Fire. Fire flickering up and down the blade of her knife. 

She reached into her bag and grabbed an arrow from who-knows-where, glad that the mummies walked so slowly. She couldn't shoot, but they were close enough now. She focused, and the arrow lit up in flames. Holding it for a second, she tossed it directly at the mummy.

It hit the thing directly in the chest, and it went up in flames. Ernest smirked, then turned back to Dalanesca, wiping all expression off her face as she looked back at the goddess.
