Revaliir’s most infamous guild of assassins, known only as the Shadow, is rumored to have its home base located in Vilpamolan. Unlike the other guilds and academies scattered across the land, the Shadow does not have a publicly known base of operations. Its members live unknown in society, ranging from peasants to innkeepers to ambassadors. ‘Membership’ to the Shadow is only available through invitation - the guild watches the actions of those whom they feel would make a good asset, and at the right moment will send a representative to recruit them into the Shadow. On rare occasions, the Shadow will set forth a bounty when the reach of a contract exceeds their own limitations. For many, such bounties are a great way to get the Shadow to notice them.

Though the Shadow is rumored to be located in Vilpamolan, its reach extends far across Canelux and even to the far corners of Parvpora. Its members are stationed in cities across the world, ready to accept a contract at a moment's’ notice. In many of the larger cities, the guild uses a contact who is not actually a sanctioned member to gather contracts, thus keeping their identities still unknown to nearly everyone.

A man named Mikhail Volkov owns a tavern in Vilpamolan called the Black Dagger. While the Black Dagger accepts business from all patrons, rumor has it that the tavern is actually the base of operations for the Shadow - and that Mikhail is the head of the organization - the Lezviye - but it is warned against openly asking about the Shadow. When one enters the Black Dagger, a roaring fireplace is located to one side - with a large cauldron of burnt soot and ash sitting next to it. The rumor explains that if one wishes to speak with a member of the Shadow, they need to draw a line of ash across their own throat before they leave, and that one of the Shadow will find them.
