Sigurd averted his eyes at her reply, feeling his face becoming a little warm. He wondered why he felt embarrassed all of a sudden. Loving nature was nothing to be ashamed of, especially since she liked it too. Perhaps it was because of his rambling, he supposed. That was unlike him. Well, when it came to strangers, that is. He was usually that talkative to those closest to him. Did it mean he was getting too comfortable with her presence? Dang it. He was far too trusting, wasn’t he? He couldn’t even bring himself to see her as a threat. He just wasn’t a very cautious guy.

But never mind that. Her question was higher priority, and it reminded him of the actual danger he had forgotten he was in. Just because she didn’t seem to be a threat, it didn’t mean there wasn’t something else out there that wasn’t a threat. He still needed to be cautious, even if it wasn’t of her. He had actually been considering asking her the very same question, but the fact that she too was lost -even if she didn’t use those exact words- he held his tongue and figured it was useless to ask. And her pulling the question whether he knew a way out or not only proved his assumptions to be true.

So, he crossed his arms over his firm chest and shifted his weight to one leg, glanced down at the ground a few feet ahead of him, and began to think. “Hmm…” he hummed thoughtfully, raising a hand to cup his chin as many people did when in thought. “Have you tried climbing the trees to get a look at the sky?” He raised his gaze back up at her, and immediately doubted it. Though she may have tried, she seemed too small to pull off such a feat. And then he instantly felt silly for asking. If she had already done it then she would surely already know the way out, hence not needing to ask for his thoughts. If, she was successful, that is.
