The dream-fiend was crafty and elusive, but Gale was undeterred. Slash after slash she and the infernal being exchanged swipes and near-misses. They were at a stalemate, when the bellowing roar of a great beast made her look in its direction. That moment of distraction was all the alp needed to lunge and leave a nasty gash across her leg. The dream-walker cried out in pain, but returned the favor by landing a powerful right hook into its belly. The searing flames burned into the shadowy fiend where the katars had made way through a wound, and the shrill scream told her she had landed a direct hit. With her injury, she would not be able to use the full extent of her current elemental state, or even her other. Seeing her mobility was affected, the wicked thing chittered and jeered in glee at her misfortune. Setting her lips into a hard line, the dream-walker had yet another card to play. If she couldn't reach it, then she would bring it towards her.

She held up her hand and in a twinkling of an eye, there was the sound of something descending from on high. From behind the alp, a large flaming ghostly wheel crashed to the ground and began moving on its own–barreling towards the imp at full throttle. This was Kasha, the burning chariot–her surprise attack she had planned should her enemy stay out her reach. The sound alerted the dream-fiend's attention, but no matter where it would run Kasha would not be far behind. As it had done towards her, Gale then sent a torrent of flame into the alp's path while it was preoccupied by Kasha. Cornered from the back and the front, it tried to vanish but was a moment too slow as the spectral wheel finally hit. The blades of the flaming wheel tore the imp into pieces, and combined with another blast of flame it was vanquished. As the last fragments of the fiend were sent to from whence it came, Gale could feel the heaviness in the air lift as its curse was broken. It had been a hard-fought battle, and she dropped on her uninjured leg kneeling. The gash on her leg was stinging and bleeding. She had no bandages or wrappings on hand to stop it from flowing, so she brought her bracelet and touched her blood to the stones.

Immediately her wounds began to recover, and she was beset by a great weariness. Putting her weapons away, she finally let herself rest as much as she desired. The fire and burning sage would keep any other fiends away.

"Be as swift as the wind, as silent as the forest, fierce like fire, and immovable like a mountain."
