"It sounds like you never got the chance to decide for yourself what you wanted." He commented.

Jared was unaware of this group of Oracles or how they worked. He didn't live in Arri and even if it concerned the outside world, he never had a reason to interact with them. And yet the story of being shunned by parents resonated with him. The oracles had a heavy duty that they never saw the appreciation for. They were feared yet relied on. They were lucky to have Bryony to take up the role of parenting. Even Jared couldn't imagine what it'd be like if he didn't have his father caring for him and for a few years, his sibling. He stared into the distance, thinking about all of this when she suddenly asked for his name.

"Jared Aeron." He said with a smile, "Its a pleasure to meet you."

Now that they were properly acquainted, he could actually grow closer. The water from the sky hit the balcony and made little puddles that reflected the lights peering through city windows. The storms outside always made him feel comfortable in a way. As though the cold rain and the thunder in the skies were made to protect creatures like him from the light. A rainy day to him was like a fresh spring day to a human.

"Are you allowed to leave Arri?" He asked.

Jared could only guess about the constraints of her life. He didn't know if an oracle was allowed to leave the city or if they were made to stay, in the case of emergencies. The fact they were made to be oracles and raised into that position appeared like both a security and a curse. Jared knew nothing about security, as his life was fraught with danger. But at the same time, he had all the freedom the world could offer.
