As soon as it was polite to do so, Luna ducked from Sharifa's company. It was pleasant to finally talk to someone without wanting to play tricks or hide from the past. Tenebrae warbled at her, the first time he made his presence known, causing the pixie to giggle. "Okay, Tene. I hear ya loud and clear." The pixie made her way over to the laden tables and grinned at the display. There were succulent meats, sweet deserts, piles of fruits, vegetables and a plethora of other dishes from all over the world. Luna took a small selection, approached the open bar and retrieved a glass of mead.

She swiftly skirted the dancers and chose a tree to hide her food and carefully balance her drink it. The spot she chose was near the musicians where she could easily hear the music, watch the dancers, and not be heard if she ended up emotional. Tenebrae jumped up into the tree as Luna shifted back down into her six-inch form. She had to shoo the wyvern from the treats so she could carefully unwrap them to reveal the smoked meats and sweets. The meat was handed to Tenebrae who happily trotted off with it while Luna took a small piece of fudge she had procured.

Despite the fact her wings were glowing as she tucked them softly against her back, Luna settled onto the branch and leaned back as she watched the beautifully dressed people. There was someone that caught her eye as familiar, though she couldn't quite place why. The dark hair, elvish ears… It was those eyes, greedy eyes that drank in every detail around her that got Luna to thinking. But this was not DaeLuin, and that was no longer a problem. Now, that woman was just another woman who may very well become an ally.

”Well, well, well what do we have here? They gather and Celebrate, for what reason I wonder?”

Curiosity struck the pixie as he flew above, circling the venue that the humans and decided to open up for a dance. He had never seen them gather in such a joyous occasion before, as they usually came to the city to either trade or board the machines that allowed them to take to the sky. Swiftly he darted the air between man and woman, rising and lowering in altitudes as to not strike them. They could not see him, as he had cloaked his presence with a simple invisibility spell.

”Far more joyous than usual, a different look upon them.” He spoke, looking back over his shoulder, he turned back around to see that he was about to collide into the backside of the woman in front of him. uh oh! was the only thought that went through his mind as he bounced off of her. Soft! He fell down, losing his sense of direction before his green and blue wings caught the air again turning him right side up again. As he flew away he watched as the woman turned around, letting out a disturbed gasp before slapping the gentleman behind her.

Aven couldn’t hold back his laughter, barely able to keep himself in the air as he bent over holding his stomach. The woman didn’t even know the wiser that it was a small pixie that ran into her rear rather than the man grabbing at her. He moved over to a nearby table and just sat down as he continued to laugh at the situation. He wiped his eyes from the tears, finally being able to catch his breath. ”T-T-That, was a perfect ending to that.” He smiled and sat on the edge looking over the people. It was then he glimpsed a slight glow up in a tree.

He flew up to get a better look at the tree, and lo and behold he saw her! Another one of his kind! He was kind of happy that he wasn’t the only pixie amongst the crowd. He flew around the tree and pondered. An idea came to mind and he dug through his side bag and pulled out a simple metal mask, the only holes one could see through was the eyes. He slid it on and flew up to the branch above her. He wrapped his legs around it and dropped himself over the edge undoing his invisibility spell

”Why hello there, fancy meeting another here!,” he said as he hung upside down, his dark hair flowing down as his emerald eyes met hers. He heard another noise and turned his head to see, and saw the miniature wyvern. ”Uh oh!” he said and without realizing it he let go of the branch he was hanging on by and fell down. He had failed to realize that she had another creature there with her. His prismatic wings caught wind again and he flew up from falling. ”Now Now, I mean no harm just dropped by to say hello.” He did not realize the joke that he had made in that statement.

Lavender met emerald, her heart jumping into her throat as she sat there, dazed, the chocolate falling from her hand. Luna blinked as she tried to process the sudden appearance of another as she hid in the tree. Tenebrae, however, was quick with his warning hiss, quick to assume danger to her than she was. "Uh… Oh!" Whoever had the drop on her let go of the branch, elevation quickly dropping as she quickly scrambled to her hands and knees to gaze down at him. Wings caught him as he began to return to her level. The wyvern had closed the distance between them defensively with another hiss.

Finally, the shock wore off as her small hands grabbed his muzzle and pulled his attention to her. "Hush now, Tene." He pressed his forehead against her as she gazed over at the other pixie with a smile. "Forgive him? Tenebrae is not accustomed to others our size." He was wearing a metal mask, hiding his identity. Curiosity burned inside. Was he from Revaliir? Was he alone like she was? Was his face grotesquely scarred? It had been quite some time since she saw a pixie.

A song ended, another started up as Luna kept gazing at him, pondering all the possibilities. Finally, she patted Tenebrae's cheek, turning her eyes to him for a moment. "Return to your meal. Remember, this is a party. No one is out to harm us tonight." With a soft hum to her, and a disapproving snort in the male's direction, Tenebrae sulked to his smoked venison. Luna held out a hand to the stranger, a mischievous smile on her face. "Dance with me?"

Aven watched as this other pixie commanded the miniature wyvern with ease. He figured the small beast was protecting its friend or master as Aven had appeared randomly before both of them. He looked over the other pixie again and noticed the silver hair upon her scalp. Never before had he had seen a color such as that..not on anyone that he had come across. It was strange and mystical but also beautiful all the same. He was almost just entranced by that, but she spoke to him breaking it.

”Oh I blame him not. Rare is it to run into another of our kind. Especially on large gatherings such as this.” The words that he spoke were true, as he ran into very few of his own kind, and if they did meet it was usually one falling for each other’s traps. Her attention once again returned to her wyvern as she sent it off for it to finish its meal, which Aven himself had rudely interrupted. The wyvern was still not too happy about Aven as he snorted into his direction. Aven stuck out his tongue to the wyvern, which was still hidden by the mask that he wore.

The female pixie then returned her attention to him and he once again started into her lavender eyes. They mixed with her silver locks made for a beautiful sight, and he barely heard her question. He cleared his throat and blinked a few times to hide that he was staring a little. Her hand was held out to him and he cocked his head to the side a bit. It was a simple request of dance but he couldn’t help but be a little weary. Pixie’s were pixie’s after all, but at the same time, she also saw past that and asked him.

”It would be my honor m’lady”

He responded and took her hand in his, and he flew down onto the branch that she rested on. He couldn’t help but feel the gaze of the Wyvern as he landed. It then had occurred to him that he really did not know how to dance with another. His cheeks burned a little as the realization came and if it was for his mask he probably would have disappeared to hide his own embarrassment. ”I mean I would greatly have honored it….if I knew how,” his words got quieter near the end of his statement.

Would he take the offer, or assume she was up to no good like their race? Luna waited patiently as she let him make the decision to trust her or not. Yet, she couldn't help the broadening of her smile when he took her hand and set his feet upon the branch. He had used a title that most did not use to their kind, only hearing it when she was masquerading as a human. Somehow, it comforted her to hear it from him. The stranger's voice grew quieter as he admitted to not knowing how to dance at all, her expression softening to understanding. Not many pixies stopped to watch humans for hours on end without playing pranks and jokes like she did.

"It's easy, once you get the hang of it. I'll show you," she said softly, genuinely sincere. Gently, she guided one hand to rest at her hip while shifting her hand in his until they were clasped together in a formal ready position. Her free hand rested on his arm, just below the shoulder as she had seen many, many times before. Luna stared into those emerald eyes, locked in his gaze. While she was very tempted to yank the mask off and reveal his face to her, Luna began to lead him in a basic ballroom waltz.

One, two, three, and one, two, three. She would merely smile at him every time he stepped on her toes. It didn't matter to her that she was barefoot. This stranger was being shown something normal pixies don't care for, something they usually ridiculed fairies for. For some reason, teaching this pixie how to dance was important. Maybe it will change how people view pixies sometime in the future. "I've spent my life watching the giants, getting to know them. I dare say this is one of my favorite things I've learned. I'm Luna, by the way." Still, her bell-like voice was soft, almost as if she feared others overhearing their conversation. "Why do you hide behind a mask?"

Her reassuring words comforted him, he never really cared to learn to dance as he would usually be the one making fun of their cousin race at doing such things. Her hand guided his own to rest upon her hip and due to him expecting that he froze, and if she could see his face behind the mask it would have been bright red. Her other hand shift in his own to a more formal grasp. He had seen the human’s dance like this on the floor below the two, but at the same time he felt a slight embarrassment that he didn’t know where it came from.

They started to move in a small circle, her movements mimicking the human’s down below. He was not as comfortable with the dance and had two left feet, occasionally stepping on her foot as they moved.  Every time it happened, he was just greeted with a small smile on her face. Her understanding made it so that he wasn’t so tense, but the hand on her slender him still was making his face blush. Her gaze was still fixated onto his own eyes, and he calmed himself down and started to follow her lead more in their waltz.

He listened to her as she told him that she would spend her time watching the giants, all the while counting the beat of her steps in his head. He could not understand why they fascinated her, as he just found them, perfect victims, for the pranks he was so fond of. She then made a mention of his mask and he chuckled. ”The curiosity is swelling beneath you is it? I thought it would have been a fun little thing to wear. They sometimes were these during their dances do they not.” He made mention to the humans down below.

The masquerade masks that humans wore did not cover their whole face as he did. He stopped their dance and removed his hand from her waist and grabbed the edge of the mast pulling it over to the side of his head. She had introduced herself to him, and he felt it rude to continue to hide. ”Luna is a beautiful name, matches the hair you have. I am Aven.” he said finally introducing himself to her. ”if I am too be honest, I wore it to hide. Pixies are pixies…the tricksters of the Fae. If I hid perhaps one could not remember if we ever met again…if I happened to give in to our natural urge to play.”

It was finally her turn for a light blush to color her cheeks which extended across the length of her ear, nodding mutely to his question. The curiosity was killing her, burning inside, making it difficult to keep from just ripping it off the longer she stayed within arm's reach. "They do…" She turned her gaze to the humans for a moment, remembering her first masquerade ball. It was a beautiful green and gold affair with a green mask for her lavender petals to peer out. At first, the masks made no sense to the pixie, but as she walked through the crowds, the mischievous mystery behind it was found appealing. Her husband was a wallflower, trying to grow roots to the wall.

Aven's voice continued speaking, pulling her from the drifting thoughts. When she blinked and took in his face again, he had moved the mask until hit hung over his ear. "Thank you," Her blush deepened as she shyly glanced away. She was not named for her hair, for that was a trait that changed when she started playing with forms other than dragons. "Yes, we do have that trait, don't we?" Luna walked around Aven as she inspected him, deciding that for a pix, he was quite a fine specimen to gaze upon. "Like this?" She gave him a playful push from behind as she had stolen the mask off his head.

Spreading her wings, Luna gained some altitude, holding the mask behind her back. "If you want it back, you'll have to catch me first!" Peals of musical laughter filled the chilly night air. She flew into the leaves of the tree where she hid behind a clump of leaves. The pixie inspected the rather plain mask with a bit of intrigue before donning it on herself before peering out behind a leave to spy on Aven.

The blush the glazed over her face to her ears, gave her this adorable look. She was already a beautiful looking pixie by all accounts, realizing that he had been staring meh shifted his gaze to the foliage around. It was his first time that he had been this close to a woman by all accounts, even though he constantly bragged about his womanizing to the few individuals he knew. Their dance was stopped and she walked around him. He was curious about what she was looking for or even what she was doing. Was she checking him out herself? Did she notice his stare?

His thoughts were abruptly ended as he was gently pushed from behind, and the side of his head felt ever so lighter. ”Hey!! That’s mine!” he spoke as he patted the empty spot and turned around quickly to see she had taken flight. She teased him saying he had to catch her in order to get the mask back. ”Oh I will catch you!” his wings spread the blue green mixed membrane shimmering in the candle light and he dived down beneath the limb. Her laughter filled the air and it brought a small smile to his face.

Having fun with another..is different

He thought as he activated his invisibility spell again. He was not pleased about it, but taking stuff for that he wanted was one of his specialties. He flew around the tree to make sure she was around the outside before heading back into the branches. The flint of her wings is what gave her away and he flew on over landing softly upon the branch she was on. She was checking around to see where he had gone, giving him a perfect opportunity to sneak up on her.

His bare feet moved quietly as he got closer and closer behind her, his invisibility spell fading off. When he was close enough he poked her on both sides of her waist, before grabbing the mask gently off of her. ”Your it!,” He laughed and fell back off the branch and farted and weaves through the tree.

Where had he gone? Surely, there must be some indication of where he was. A leaf waving from an unnatural breeze, or even a trick of the light as he darted past her vision. But he wasn’t there. Maybe it had been far too long since she spent time with others of her kind that she’s forgotten what it was like? Just when she was about to settle back behind her leaf, something poked into both sides of her waist.

Luna jumped with a surprised shriek as the mask was gently lifted off her face, revealing a very shocked expression before she burst into uncontrollable giggles. It took her a minute to settle the giggle fit, giving him a head start to flit away. Finally, she was off, her glowing wings a dead giveaway. She would have to be creative to catch him unawares. Aven had fallen off the branch, so she darted up for an aerial view.

When she finally spotted him, Luna folded her wings for a dive. It didn’t matter what he did to try and get away, she had the advantage of speed now. As such, when the distance between them finally disappeared, Luna had misjudged everything. The pixies collided as she was unable to slow herself from the dive, tumbling through the air until they crashlanded on a thick branch. Luna gave a soft moan as she pushed herself up.

What was below her, however, was not bark, but Aven himself. He was warm and handsome as she stared into his eyes. She blinked with sudden realization, her entire face flushing profusely as she spread her wings to lift herself off of him. ”Sorry!” Luna had touched back down onto the branch, holding herself as she could not bring herself to even look at him presently. ”Um… I got berries over there… And some mead… It’s a drink they make of honey…”

Aven looked behind him after he controlled his laughter to see that Luna was no longer on the branch where he had left her. She had left the perch he looked around and didn’t see where she was, did she have the ability to go invisible like him? I mean it wouldn’t surprise him it made pulling tricks on the larger races far easier. He stopped and hovered in place pulling the mask back over his ear. ”Oh where oh where did you go?,”

It did not occur to the pixie to check up, and when he finally got around to it it was too late. She was coming at him with extremely fast speed, so much that he doubted she could stop. No no no no no no! was all he could think and he tried to get his wings moving to evade her but the inevitable had happened. Her body crashed into his, both of them losing the sense of flight as they crashed down onto one of the larger tree limbs.

As they hit the solid surface, his mask came loose and slid across the branch. Thankfully nothing had broken, just sore from the two impacts. ”Errrgh, stuck that landing,” he groaned and that’s when he realized he was pinned down by something. He moved his hand and felt a soft fabric and that’s when his eyes shot open and his emerald eyes meet once again with her lavender ones. Once they both had realized the situation they were in she lifted herself off of him with her wings apologizing.

His face was bright red, and hotter than anything. While having a beautiful lady over him wasn’t the worst thing in the world it still was embarrassing as anything. He got on his own feet as she landed back down. Her gaze was completely my away from his as she offered some of the refreshments she had gotten from the tables of food and stuff. ”Yeah! That…that would be nice,” he fumbled over his own words accepting her offer. His face was still red but cooling off as they flew over to the initial spot they met.

There was a small awkwardness in the air, his eyes darting around, trying to figure out what to say to break the silence. Inside his head he was screaming as he did not know why he was in such an embarrassed state.
