Why did everything have to be so…pretty? Erebus had made it to this fabled island simply just because he could and to see if there was something there that would catch his thieving eye. So far all that he had spotted was pretty, pretty flowers. A never ending sea of them, all blooming and pretty looking and yet it annoyed him greatly. And why not, he was the most beautiful thing here, and it sickened his stomach to think that out of all that precious effort he put into ceasing the effects of Timedeath (by which, he barely did anything other than observed), this was his reward? A long groaning sound seeped from him as he crushed one of the delicate flowers beneath his boot and dig into it. What right did this place have to deserve to exist? Scuffing at the meaningless thought, he took hold of his scythe and with a clean motion, he spun about and removed as many little flowery heads as possible around him.
The action made him feel slightly better, that was until he noticed that on his white robes laid grass stains and dirt that shattered his perfect image. Oh no, this simply would not do, not at all for one like him. He had an image to obtain, even if the rest of the world didn’t see or care about it. An inhuman scream was let out from him as his eyes spotted something else- the blasted things regrew their heads. How…how was this even possible? If they could speak, they probably would have mocked him and his attempts. It was a disturbing thought that drove him over the edge. Out of pure frustrated, he started to carve out more and more of the flowers, littering the area with their bodies as his rage guided him on and he pressed forward in his assault.
That was until he ended up hitting striking at something that was thicker than even that of trees. At first he assumed it was some sort of vegetation that grew native here and backed away, but then the thing started to stir and rise upward. As it positioned itself, Erebus looked on with a cocked eyebrow and lowered his scythe. The beast unwinded itself, revealing quite a few number of heads as they all glared at him. It was a towering brute that looked like a hydra, but it had those annoying flowers on its heads. Its appearance irked him even further. “Don’t you darelook at me like that. You should feel honored to have me grace your lowly presence and this disgusting area”, he shouted back. The hydra responded in kind with a bellowing roar, one that forced Erebus into a defensive stance and pushed several feet away. Whatever this thing was, it was strong, ferocious and powerful. He looked at it again, smirking and a new idea rose from his brilliant mind. As one of the heads came down to take a bit from him, Erebus leaped up and land on its neck. While the others tried to pursue him, he ran down until he was at the base of the neck and straddled onto it.
“I am your master now! Obey me!” His legs squeezed tightly around it as he slapped the back of the beast and it tried to buck him off. Oh, it would learn soon enough that he would get what he wanted, one way or another as he hung on as much as he could as the earth trembled with its futile attempts of ridding itself of him. “Knock that off, and obey your master!”, he said again, slapping it even harder.
