"Irritating," Raith replied with a chuckle. "However I've found that she pushes me in ways I never believed possible before. I've only been fueled by my hatred until I met Ria, who knew that loving someone could be such a strong motivator." He had always been ambitious, had always known exactly what he wanted from life - but there had been something about meeting his beloved that had changed all of that for him… he had never believed in the possibility of love for himself when he and Ria had first met he had intended to use her as a means to get close to his mother without her knowing… and then he had got to know the Half-Elf and found he could not live without her. 

The Deity raised an eyebrow and snorted. "Loathe though I am to admit it you're probably not wrong, I know very little of Ethan but what I do know of him is tragically close to my own history. Though I think I gain ground for coming out on top don't you?" He smirked, the expression upon his wicked beyond belief. 

Raith chuckled, he knew damn well that people could not understand how he and Ria had come to pass, let alone comprehend how they worked so well. "People often forget that without Light there cannot be Darkness, one compliments the other. My beloved is well aware of who and what I am, she is under no delusions that she can change my very nature, she may have influenced me in terms of staying my hand with murdering my own mother but that courtesy does not extend to the rest of the world. That and I am not obligated to be friends with my mother, I can ruin Kythe's life without killing her and it will be so much sweeter to destroy that which she holds dear and watch her suffer that instead. The problem with beings of the Light is that they are so blinded by their virtues that they cannot see the truth of the world, for those of us in the shadows who have known only suffering and hardship we know better - we can take goodness from parts of what the world has to offer, but we know better than to try and change the very nature of existence," he shrugged. "Alairia is my light amongst the darkness, she grounds me when my rage becomes a raging fire. Something I will need you to do I suspect, though in a different way."  

The man rolled his eyes, the people he surrounded himself didn't reach high enough, but he could reach the stars for them if he had to. "I've created a vast garden for Alairia, damned thing is a world within its own right - that door there, it leads out to the meadow, you're welcome to use it at any time, I know Ria will have no issues with you relaxing there, but we can design a room for you which suits you. The Watchtower will recognise you as my Champion and allow you passage without my presence; we can forge your rooms to your liking and link a door to wherever you wish," he listened as she mentioned Nemesis and smiled, interesting… he had yet to visit the other God, maybe he could use his Champion and her lover as an excuse to push that meeting forward… "No issue for me, so long as Ethan knows his place within my walls he is welcome to come and go as he pleases, I have no conflict with Nemesis so I have no qualms as to where your lover has his alliances."

She captured Ria and I before my ascension, she is the reason Ria is blind and I have sworn to tear her limb from limb when I next find her."
