Adventuring was hard. So much harder than living in the halls of a deity. Adventures meant danger. Fear. Threats of death. But it also meant excitement, and revelation. She had already learned so much about herself during her short time adventuring; even tiny shards of memory from her past. She had learned a lot about the world around her too -some of which were not the best of things, but they were easily countered by the good of the realm. It had made a fantastic story. But it was hard.

Had her skin not lacked the pigment to do so, she was certain that she’d have dark circles circling the lilac of her eyes. But, as fortunate as it was that her skin was absent of such identifiers, her hair carried the brunt of her fatigue. The platinum locks which were usually braided and pulled away from her ears, now sprung up in all directions like a really tired hydra.

In the place that she considered her home under the watchful eye of Naota, she would have moved to one of the many crystals and taken advantage of the reflective surface. But here, she lacked that convenience. Sure, she could summon a mirror and try her best to fix it up, but what was the point. All that would do is waste some of her energy and give nature a fresh pallet of hair to destroy.

She shook her head against her all too vain thoughts and continued on, pulling her cloak tighter around herself. She had gone too far into her adventure to turn back; even if that was only for one longing second.

Zets'Ki Cradle was a place that she had only heard about in passing; though it seemed to hold high levels of wonder for any that tread the gravel streets. It was interesting that something that was as seemingly ordinary as the dark granite of the city would draw so much attention. Perhaps it was just a mystery that would only be answered once her own lilac eyes fell on the town. Upside: if it was something ordinary, than the birds nest that was her hair would be be a lot more acceptable.

She moved through another set of rock formations, her mind returning to the task at hand as her eyes locked on the movement of her feet. She hadn’t traveled through areas like this too often, and found herself less than sure footed on the moving stones that she found along the terrain.

She thanked the gods as she finally stood on flat ground. She had been dealing with an incline almost exclusively as she moved through the mountain range. She loved the town before she even laid eyes on it: simply because it meant rest was in the near future. But when she finally lifted her head took in the scenery, she was dumbfounded.

It was gorgeous in the most simple way; not relying on the minutia of it’s design for beauty, but rather elevating it with the natural beauty of the realm. The stained glass windows through hues of color across her face; summoning a smile. It was beautiful. It was touching. It was almost… familiar.

She felt the threads of her old self begin moving toward each other; threatening to reincarnate the memories she had lost. It was a feeling that she had become accustomed to over the past few months, but something about this one was different. It was intense. It was powerful. It was too much for her to handle.
Her knees buckled beneath her and she felt her bottom slam to the ground as her mind's eye searched for something that she couldn’t name, but had somehow met before.

The image of a smile returned to her. The sound of a laugh. High in pitch, like hers, but distinctly different. It was something she had seen so many times but everytime it cut off before she saw anything different. She heard her voice and saw the smile, but that was it. But this time, there was something different.

A single feather descended in front of the smile; lily white, full and fluffy.

Her eyes snapped open in shock. It was something small, and meaningless to the ordinary being. But it was something.

Nothing compared to coming home. It was cold, it was always cold, but in order to handle flying with the clouds, one had to be able to handle being in the cold. Cold did not bother half-celestials at all. Perhaps that was why they chose to live in such a place with such unfettered access to the skies.

Now, if there was anyone that needed to worry, it was those who came from the lower lands that did not have the cold weather resistance. More than one human or humanoid had frozen on the slopes trying to reach the Cradle, especially those who got caught unsuspecting in the frequent glaciem blizzards.

Now, Danwe had been away for a while, for good reason, but there was something satisfying about coming home, even if the welcome wasn't exactly going to be a welcoming one. As she flew on her massive black wings, she noticed a being in the snow ahead of her, struggling to the top of the rise that would over look Zets'Ki Cradle. She couldn't be certain, but she was a little worried that the poor creature was frozen or faltering.

So, she made her descent, her wings catching the wind and creating the tell-tale whooshing sound wings might make when flapping before she landed lightly on the snow, her boots barely indenting in the snow, her body was so light.

"Are you all right?" she asked, walking up to the light haired girl who stood there. She looked like she might have been a little more prepared than some in her trek, but she definitely looked a little haggard.

The wooshing of wings filled her ears. And for a brief moment, she thought it was nothing more than the sound of her own heart echoing in her ears; a delayed symptom of the meditative state in which she found her memories. Her eyes grew wide, however, when the presence of a winged entity proved just how wrong she had been. Before she knew it a lovely woman stood before her asking her a question.

What did she say? Something about taking a right? Oh!

Once the realization of what was being said set in, Lucielle would have loved to thank her new companion for the concern and maybe engage in some small talk; a skill that she had been working on in her free time. However, the massive black wings that adorned her new companion’s back were quite distracting; probably more so in the wake of her most recent memory trickle. What was it about her that drew the child of light’s attention so immediately and so completely? She had met so many different kinds of creatures and entities throughout her travels, but had never had this kind of reaction.

Those wings…

Finally, after what felt like forever, –but was probably really only a few seconds- Lucielle found her voice.

”I am well. Or, rather, I’m not unwell. Simply tired, I suppose.” It was rambly. Which didn’t happen too often with her; with the exception of her introduction to Lord Naota. And he was an exception to the rule; a spiritual big brother that could fluster her faster than anything else on Revaliir. Maybe this person had a similar link?

”I was just trying to make my way to the cradle. Something tells me that there is something important there,” she said, pausing for a moment, ”I am just not sure what that may be.”

She wanted to ask a million questions about the wings. And about where she came from. And if her companion thought that maybe they shared a lineage. Or if she might know where she did come from, if not. There were a million questions, but coming on that strong was a quick way to chase off a potential friend.

Calm down. One step at a time.

”Do you happen to be heading that way?”
