As the participants of the ball danced their night away in another's embrace, Serci sat tucked away in a dim lighted corner of the cathedral. He let out a sigh of boredom, a dismal expression on his face. He watched from his corner as hundreds of happy faces danced past him, laughter in their eyes. In truth, he was jealous of the dance floor. Most of the guests arrived with a date or had found one already. Serci longed for the companionship of another. He was suggested to woo a lovely lady by members of Angela's clergy which he calmly dismissed. There was a time in his past where he would woo such strangers just to not be alone that particular night, but that was no longer his life. However, the loneliness did sting at him as much as the cold outside, as he watched Angela from afar with her husband. He tagged along at Angela's insistence of coming. He continually declined the offer but she was persistent in him wanting to come. She eventually pulled the champion card over him and he begrudgingly escorted her as guard more than a date.
Although he spent his time alone with a grieved expression, he was enjoying his self. To experience the cathedral was surreal with how the atmosphere enveloped you. The food was delicious and Angela's dishes were flying off the tables at an increased rate. He listened to the band play and gently tapped his foot along to the swaying of the violins. To be honest, this was his life before his championship to Angela. He would attend parties and impress the right people at the right time. He would shake hands with the right noble people. And he would sleep with the right women. Even now, with it being the first time he was in the cathedral, the scene was familiar. A party of nobles and warriors alike. He gave a small chuckle as watched a pair of dancers trip a few feet in front of him. Looking around cathedral filled with happy couples and the romantic first dates, he let out one final sigh as he got up from his tucked away table and walked his self across the floor where Angela stood.
"Angela. I thank you most heart felt for forcing me into the ball. However, looking around I think you are very well protected and I will be taking my leave back to the Awakening Gardens. Enjoy your night, my goddess." Politely, he gave a nod and dispersed into the crowd before he could hear her protest. He blended into the ocean of guests as he found his self nearing the exists. The ball was fun, to say the least, but he more important matters than to sulk alone in a corner. As he found his self almost at the doors, feeling the cold breeze against his skin, a particular large gentleman crashed into Serci's shoulder. He was quickly apologized to and his clothes dusted off. The man apologized once more but the sounds never reached Serci's ears as his gaze was fixed strait ahead where the man had crashed into him. Across the dance floor, drowning in and out of the the crown stood the beautiful, short, brunette Rosemary-Raine.
He had developed quite the crush over the small angle, to much of his embarrassment. He tried to keep it away from conversation while he was with Angela. It was something he wished not to cross at this particular point, but now realizing why she was so adamant on him attending the ball, he smiled and silently thanked her. He moved across the dance floor, keeping a close eye where the crowd thinned out. His pace was slow as he gracefully weaved his way amongst the traffic. As he emerged on the other side of the floor, Rosemary stood off to his side, watching the crowd no different than he was not too long ago. He straitened out his silver overcoat. He grabbed the lapels and straitened the coat over his body, swishing his long blonde hair to one side and the other before parting it evenly, letting flow down to the middle of his back. He cleared his throat as he made a stride towards Rosemary unseen. He moved behind her, quietly. He let out his hand towards her, Rosemary still unaware of his presence behind her. He cleared his throat and waited for her to turn around. Velvet in his voice, a charming smile complementing his tone, "May I have this dance, My lady?"
