As the participants of the ball danced their night away in another's embrace, Serci sat tucked away in a dim lighted corner of the cathedral. He let out a sigh of boredom, a dismal expression on his face. He watched from his corner as hundreds of happy faces danced past him, laughter in their eyes. In truth, he was jealous of the dance floor. Most of the guests arrived with a date or had found one already. Serci longed for the companionship of another. He was suggested to woo a lovely lady by members of Angela's clergy which he calmly dismissed. There was a time in his past where he would woo such strangers just to not be alone that particular night, but that was no longer his life. However, the loneliness did sting at him as much as the cold outside, as he watched Angela from afar with her husband. He tagged along at Angela's insistence of coming. He continually declined the offer but she was persistent in him wanting to come. She eventually pulled the champion card over him and he begrudgingly escorted her as guard more than a date.

Although he spent his time alone with a grieved expression, he was enjoying his self. To experience the cathedral was surreal with how the atmosphere enveloped you. The food was delicious and Angela's dishes were flying off the tables at an increased rate. He listened to the band play and gently tapped his foot along to the swaying of the violins. To be honest, this was his life before his championship to Angela. He would attend parties and impress the right people at the right time. He would shake hands with the right noble people. And he would sleep with the right women. Even now, with it being the first time he was in the cathedral, the scene was familiar. A party of nobles and warriors alike. He gave a small chuckle as watched a pair of dancers trip a few feet in front of him. Looking around cathedral filled with happy couples and the romantic first dates, he let out one final sigh as he got up from his tucked away table and walked his self across the floor where Angela stood.

"Angela. I thank you most heart felt for forcing me into the ball. However, looking around I think you are very well protected and I will be taking my leave back to the Awakening Gardens. Enjoy your night, my goddess." Politely, he gave a nod and dispersed into the crowd before he could hear her protest. He blended into the ocean of guests as he found his self nearing the exists. The ball was fun, to say the least, but he more important matters than to sulk alone in a corner. As he found his self almost at the doors, feeling the cold breeze against his skin, a particular large gentleman crashed into Serci's shoulder. He was quickly apologized to and his clothes dusted off. The man apologized once more but  the sounds never reached Serci's ears as his gaze was fixed strait ahead where the man had crashed into him. Across the dance floor, drowning in and out of the the crown stood the beautiful, short, brunette Rosemary-Raine.

He had developed quite the crush over the small angle, to much of his embarrassment. He tried to keep it away from conversation while he was with Angela. It was something he wished not to cross at this particular point, but now realizing why she was so adamant on him attending the ball, he smiled and silently thanked her. He moved across the dance floor, keeping a close eye where the crowd thinned out. His pace was slow as he gracefully weaved his way amongst the traffic. As he emerged on the other side of the floor, Rosemary stood off to his side, watching the crowd no different than he was not too long ago. He straitened out his silver overcoat. He grabbed the lapels and straitened the coat over his body, swishing his long blonde hair to one side and the other before parting it evenly, letting flow down to the middle of his back. He cleared his throat as he made a stride towards Rosemary unseen. He moved behind her, quietly. He let out his hand towards her, Rosemary still unaware of his presence behind her. He cleared his throat and waited for her to turn around. Velvet in his voice, a charming smile complementing his tone, "May I have this dance, My lady?"

Angela was like honey for all the people around her. Her aura was intoxicating and it showed from the number of people who had swarmed her for conversation. She was like a mantlepiece. So many stories and achievements to share. Even now people asked her about her triumph over Varaz and Komiteia. They stood there dazed and mesmerized as she spoke of her adventures.

“Oh, Dear Serci don’t be so stoic… If I really needed you for a bodyguard I would have said so.” Still, she pressed her lips to his forehead before he left. Many people had been curious about her champion so she began to answer questions about him. However, her real motive for inviting him had been the four-foot nine-inch tall woman that he had been crushing on as of late.

She stood there with her hair up in cascading chocolate curls. Her silver eyes danced around the dance as she followed the movement of people. Her dress was a flattering powder blue. It appeared to be made entirely of small feathers until it blossomed out at the end. Where there were larger peacock like ends. The top of the dress was more sweetheart and sleeves were handcrafted silver of elegant swirls and leaves. The back of the dress dipped down to her lower back. She stood there tapping her foot to the beat.

It was his hand at first that shocked her and she turned around and blushed. There had been an impression that Serci had made on her and it was clear from the look in those silver eyes. “Serci! I didn’t expect you to be here.” She gripped his hand a bit. “Mother told me to come but I have no idea why…” The sentence left her lips but for a moment she looked through him and chuckled. “But… I would like to dance.”

The half angel brought him out onto the dance floor and she blushed a bit more. “I guess.. It is a bit awkward that I am so small compared to you Serci… Has service to my mother been favorable?”

Serci followed the small angel to the dance floor where his familiar warm laugh echoed through the dance floor. "I guess it is a bit. But we can make do, Rosemary. Here, I'll take your shoulders and you can have my hips." He stated, his hands falling to her exposed shoulders, as he felt her cold hands wrap around his hips. Serci made sure his movements were slow as they danced their way around the cathedral. "Service to your mother has passed beyond my expectations. Some would laugh, saying devoting one's life to another is fruitless, but I find solace in my service to Angela." He said, with confidence. The noble in him seemed to make an appearance as he navigated conversation much better than their first encounter in the desert.

"Though, to be honest." He paused, as he gave Rosemary a little twirl, extending his arm all the way. He gave a small flourish as he closed the gap and continued, "I have taken a leave of absence from the gardens. I've taken it apon my self to visit the gods. I feel by training with the other dieties, I'll be able to improve on my weaknesses and better serve your mother. She leaves me by my self most of the time. I worry because she thinks I am not strong." He paused, locking up a sigh of worry. "Though, I believe that is another conversation for another day." If there were any signs of concern on his face, they were now gone, a pleasant smile on his face. The cathedral went silent as the band had stopped to take a short break.

"In fact, I just arrived back at the gardens a couple days ago from Lord Naota's. I even learned a new trick." He said, flashing a grimace. He parted from Rosemary to slide the Infinite Sands that took the shape of a white gold band with a dull green emerald stone off of his left hand. He held the ring down to Rosemary for her to observe. He reached down and grabbed Rosemary's hands as he placed the ring in her open palm. He easily covered both of her small hands with one of his as he concentrated on the ring. Warmth ran though his body as he concentrated on an image of his mind that he wanted the sands to take form. With a smile, he slowly lifted up his hands to reveal an orange chain with a golden Citrine pendent where the ring once was. He chuckled softly at her awed expression as he dangled the necklace between his finger, gesturing at her neck. "May I?"

Rosemary slowly complied, turning around and exposing her neck for him. He closed the space between them as he snaked his arm around her neck and fastened the necklace. As she turned around the band started playing and the lights feel onto her, illuminating her complete outfit. A conscience Serci would've wrapped her up and dance her around the floor but he stood awe struck at her beauty. He whispered under his breath. "Take my breath away." He slowly made his way up to her and resumed their dancing position. "You look stunning, Ms. Rosemary." He said, his words chocking slightly. Failing as he was, he tried to be on guard around Rosemary. He felt an attraction towards her that he knew deep down was against a set of moral codes for him. It was unprofessional and the admittance of guilt caused him to flinch in the slightest. Working past his own thoughts he pushed out a conversation to keep the flow going between the two.

"Tell me about you, Rosemary. What fills your wings with flight? What kinds of things give you passion?"
