The nightlife in Jayou was something to behold; the flashing lights, the warm atmosphere, and the ships at constant sail, filled with delightful people, their money, and a shew of games that would make or break them. For Abaddon, this city was well known for other things aside from the mentioned- it was a great farming place for deals. Many that came here to win it big would call upon any force to help them, no matter the price. And from there, his employees would handle the rest of the task with little effort and collect.

It was on this night that Abaddon himself decided to venture into the masses, something he seldomly did in once every few years. His wings were hidden from sight, leaving him a tall and fit man with crimson eyes, but otherwise most would find him normal otherwise. Wearing an indigo robe that covered all but his torso, he looked foreign enough for some of the seedier crowds to try their hand in swindle him, thinking that he was an easy mark. One such gentleman had tried earlier to part him from his coin, but now that individual was short one finger from when he had come onto the boat. Aside from that, the demon had no issue with the rest of the patrons around. He merely wanted to walk among the mortals again and remind himself of the tiny glimpses of hope and beauty that the realm still carried. The evening sky was littered in a blanket of stars and the faint music that played on another boat only added to the serene sounds of the wilderness they were around.

It wasn’t long before he finished stargazing on the deck and came about the playing hall where the games were hosted. Although he wasn’t a skilled player himself, he did like to watch the others string their opponents along with their buffs and being weary of tells. At a particular table, he could practically feel the desperation of one of the players that were in too deep. He put on a brave face, but the fact remained that he was sorely losing as it was. The mountain of chips was evident of that. He was going to lose it all. Abaddon took no pleasure nor pity on him for he brought it onto himself and before long, he was sure that one of his employees would feel the inaudible call and tempted him with the deal of a lifetime.

For the time being, he took his leave and strolled for the open bar where a glass of cherry wine was brought to him. He sipped quietly at the glass as he continued to observe the room filled with sharks and guppies all around him.
