Vendam was once an island located off of the Cameroon coast. As legend would have it, a devastating storm system created a massive wave that threatened to destroy the entire island, so the people of the island prayed to the Onnen gods of old, and the island was lifted to safety by an impossibly powerful magic that still stands to this day. As such, those who remained on the sky island to this day stand devoted to the old ways, perhaps in admiration for their ancestors, or fear that the island may one day fall if their faith wavers.

Vendam, the City of Heaven’s is a collection of smaller islands connected by various precarious bridge formations. There are a few ways to travel to Vendam, the most used being a smaller system of rock formations that lead down to the sea, where a floating dock was created to support trade with the main continent. Due to the wind magic, there is a constant swirl of puffy white clouds that circle the islands, and on some days can cause a mist to rise throughout the island system. While they don’t do much in for trade, the magic that keeps the city afloat brings scholars from all of Onnen who wish to unlock the secrets of the powerful wind that keeps the land afloat. Due to this, there is a bit of a clash between the locals and these scholars, as the locals do not wish to disturb the old God's magic.
