Cedric was watching the slave auction quietly, he wasn't hurt by seeing slaves being treated like animals, he couldn't do anything about it, if he stepped in, he would likely get murdered. Cedric turned around and started walking around the streets, whistling, then, he saw a woman draw her sword and quickly enter an alley.
"There's never a dull moment in the world, is there?" Cedric playfully said to himself as he put on his mask and drew his crossbow, he saw a woman, by the dead end, with a man near her, with another woman who has a sword up his throat.
Cedric unfolded the crossbow's limbs and aimed his crossbow and said
"Hey, hey! What's goin' on here?"

Somewhere new, again. Well. Newish - everywhere felt familiar and yet given she didn't
remember any of it… How utterly infuriating could this be?! Why could she remember nothing of who or what she was?! Every time Shadow reached out for those tantalising bits of her own memories they ran away, little more than whispers at the edge of her fingertips. Even her name was a joke! Shadow. She'd chosen it purely because that was what she was 'a Shadow of her former self'. It had suited her and would serve it's purpose for the moment so why not?!
Running her now clean fingers through her hair Shadow sighed heavily and cast her gaze through the crowds of people; naturally she stopped when her emerald eyes fixed upon traders selling slaves. Something rose in her heart, something dark that clearly did not like this display - clearly didn't like slaves and slave traders, it was something she made a mental note of and pushed to one side for the moment as she tried to decide what she was going to
do about the dark, angry feeling now consuming her to the point of her hands closing into fists.
A sigh escaped her throat as the woman came to her senses - fighting all of these people would only get her into trouble, it wasn't worth it right now… she'd have needed allies for a start. Turning away she begged her sensitive ears to ignore the bids from the buyers and the whimpers from the poor souls being sold… she could do them no good today. It was a good thing she
had turned away in fact - for there was someone else whose need was more pressing.
As she passed the entrance of an alley she caught the gruff words of a man who clearly had nothing good in mind for his victim. Immediately the woman's head whipped around and her emerald gaze fixed upon the one who had spoken. His jest and the girl's clear panic was enough to make Shadow move - one thing she
had worked out about herself was she would never let anyone be hurt if she could help it… this girl included.
A snarl left her throat as she leapt down the alley and drew her sword, flicking it around with ease to rest the blade against the man's throat, her fingers pulling on his hair as she hissed in his ear.
"I suggest you reconsider that 'Your Highness' lest my blade here drink your blood and stain your royal clothes."

She went out of her way to get to the Vilpamolan Coast where the books said plenty of a pirate and an outlaw resided with all of their treasures and plunder. Zephyra could have cut through the Virens Forest, full of strange and magical creatures, but after the incident with Nyssa… just looking at the trees made her mind seize up and remember the horrifying scream of her friend and then the horrible pain of their psychic bond breaking. It had been the most traumatic experience of her young life and she was not soon, or likely not ever, going to forget it. So she had skirted the Ancense Mountains to get there without going through the forest.
When she arrived it looked dark and dingy and very frightening to a little girl like her. The books said the districts were divided up evenly among pirate lords that lorded from barricades in the southern side. The first thing she saw when she walked in was a slave auction that was going on in what loosely assembled to look like a marketplace. For a moment she stood mesmerized and watched as the people below bid on the tribesmen and woman in shackles as if they were nothing but cattle. But then she hurried on past it, hoping not to end up in a slave auction herself.
When she was walking down the alley there was a sudden scruffy voice that threatened her from behind. It was then that she realized she had turned down a dead end. When she turned around the man was scruffy and disheveled with black hair and a long black and gray flecked beard. His skin was tanned and leathery and very wrinkled. He had a patch over one eye. “Pretty thing you are. Bet you would fetch me a pretty penny in the auctions.”
He almost seemed to be salivating at the suggestion of money. Zephyra wore simple black breeches with tall black leather boots, a black and cold corset, a slightly transparent red long sleeve tunic, and a fur-lined cloak for the winter chill. Thankfully she did not boast jewelry or anything else that would make her more noticeable. But no matter, she had already attracted his attention.
“Please sir, I’m just here to explore. My mother is a Goddess. She would kill you.” It was more a warning than a threat. “And I’m the king of Vilpamolan!” He laughed heartily and then advanced on her. She brought up her hands and the red glow surfaced in her palms.
