The streets were covered in muck. Of all the places Dala had been, Vilpamolan was the dirtiest. But it was also one of the safest places one could go if they wanted to avoid people. The city was dangerous but a person could hide out there for a long time without being caught. There was no doubt in Dala's mind that the people who wanted revenge after her would be searching orphanages and other safer place for kids. That is what made this town so useful. Dala kept her hand on her sheathed dagger at all times and held her satchel close to her body. But she kept her eyes straight ahead and pretended not to notice the people around her. Even a display of a little confidence often kept people off her back.

As she walked, Dala passed a little orphan who was begging for money. The little boy had big puppy dog eyes and a pout that could even make the most cold hearted person take another look at him. Dala stopped for a moment and walked up to the little boy. He wasn't that much younger than her. But she already knew who he was as she had been living here for a while now. She handed two silver coins to him and then sat next to him, listening to what he had to say.

"Hi Dala!" The boy said, "There isn't much news I'm afraid. No word or sight of those people you told me to look out for….So are you going to visit us at the orphanage? We miss your visits and you're the only one who wants to play with us."

"Aren't there other kids to play with in Vilpamolan?" Dala asked.

"Yeah but they suck at tag and hide and seek." The boy explained.

"….Maybe." Dala said, "Anyway if you hear anything let me know."

"Okay!" The boy exclaimed.

Dala kept walking down the path, heading to the tavern. She was a child but this was Vilpamolan. They didn't exactly have rules about who could and who couldn't enter the taverns. The only thing that they wanted was money so if a child wanted a beer, then the child would get a beer. But that is not what Dala had come for, instead she had came for some help. This place wasn't the best to find help but she knew that she couldn't go to the underworld on her own. Dala took a seat at a table in the tavern and ordered a glass of water. She paid for it then looked around the tavern. There were some who stared at the child but most already were familiar with the kid and didn't mind her. They believed she had nothing of value and stealing a few coins wasn't worth potentially getting bit in the leg or having two little fingers jammed into their eye sockets.

"Who might I be looking for, Yvette?" Dala thought to her friend inside her mind.

"Somebody who won't mind going to the underworld. Somebody who is already headed that way. First try the whole pity act. If that doesn't work then drop the act and be yourself." The spirit said back to her.

"Got it." Dala mentally replied.

A waitress handed Dala her water. Before drinking, she inspected it, trying to see if it had been poisoned. Reaching into her bag, she pulled out a basic antidote potion and poured a drop of it into her water. Any poison in the drink would react to the antidote potion but there was no reaction. So she felt conformable sipping on her water as she kept her eye out for anybody who might be willing to help her.
