Kythe could not have been more proud of her people, watching as they all travelled through the Gate, her eyes never left them. Every one of them strode forward, their roles in this situation defined, planned and cemented in their minds, they had a purpose here and not one of them had shied away from the task at hand. Whether they were hesitant or afraid was not clear, for each of them seemed to go forward with their heads held high, expressions full of concentration as they worked together.
As the wolf brushed against her side, before passing through the Gate, Kythe was jolted from her thoughts. She knew that scent, though she had not expected the young woman to answer the note now. Smiling softly to herself, Kythe reached out, just barely entwining her fingers with Isleen's fur as she moved to join the others. She had been relieved to hear that the young woman had survived DaeLuin's end, like so many others she had loved had, the girl was family in more ways than one, and Kythe had hoped to reconnect with her - though Revaliir required her attentions for the moment.
She would seek the woman out later, for now there was a job to do.
The thudding sound of arrows immediately sent Kythe's Honour Guard into action. Ry'at and Ju'xa threw their bodies in front of their Leader, the Au-Ra lowering their bodies into fighting stances, while L'lya and U'lia's hands began to glow as they called their magic forth to protect her. It was Mordekai, Kythe's ordinarily fussy, mother hen, of a Cleric who stepped in front of them all, staff held in front of him, casting a shield around his Mistress, his face devoid of his usual anxieties - instead the Elven man's face was almost dark… she knew these five would die for her, not that she intended to let them…
Kythe's emerald eyes flickered across the scene, searching for the archer, and when she spotted him she smiled - the expression causing her Guard to relax their stances without the need for her to say a word.
Closing the Gate behind them, Kythe stepped into the battlefield properly, her gaze fixing upon Valandil and Rynn as the pair set swathes of the insects on fire all at once. Kythe could not have been more proud of the young girl for all that she had achieved, Kythe had given her simple lessons to aid in her wish to fully transform, and here the girl was, in such a short period of time (by all accounts) fully transformed, fighting for Revaliir as one of Nosse's number.
The air was thick with the sound, smell and taste of magic, as they moved deeper into the battlefield they were awash with it. A flash caught the Minadrian woman's attention, and she realised that one of her members had cast a shield about her person. It did not take long for Kythe to pinpoint Attie, and she smiled at the girl, nodding her thanks to her. She had not yet had a chance to speak to the girl personally, there had been polite greetings but she had not had much chance to fully introduce herself and get to know the girl - she would rectify that once this was all over.
Once more Kythe's attention was drawn to the archer, and again she found herself smiling, despite the horrific nature of their meeting in this place. It had been a long time since she had seen Blaze, in a whole other world… yet seeing him here, with Hiro beside him… for one, blissfully nostalgic moment, Kythe had believed that her Rangers had returned to her, for Hiro had looked so like his father beside the Elven Ranger. Her heart broke a little at the fact that it was a dream, Sabishii was gone, as so many others were, but his son was here - and for that she was at least grateful.
As the two men moved to join her she chuckled, grinning at the Ranger as she nudged him in the ribs with her elbows.
"I know I'm old and it's been a while, but I've not gone senile just yet thank you, as if I had forgotten who you were Blaze," she chuckled, turning her gaze to Hiro.
"I am well, my love, though still just as tired as before, if not more so," she chuckled as she placed a hand on her ever growing belly.
While Kythe had a long way to go with her pregnancy, it was getting more apparent with each passing day - which inevitably meant that Mordekai would begin his mother hen routine again. Speaking of, she could see her Cleric eyeing her, then the sky with a look of concern. Smiling she nodded to him, her tanned skin shifted and giving way to black scales that would not be pierced by the insects stings. The man visibly relaxed, turning his attention to the other Guild members for the moment.
"You're both well met, we're here to eradicate as many as we can. If you can keep my healers and mages safe I would appreciate it, some of our number are going to see whether or not they can use the little bastards against one another in terms of an elixir to fix the sick. By the way, when this is over, I'm expecting to see your names on our roster," she said with a grin and wink before moving back through the battlefield to lend a hand where she could.
The sound of music, weaved with magic, caught her attention as she swept her sword through five rather courageous insects. She caught sight of the woman, raised a hand and punched the air in thanks to her.
This was what she had wanted this Guild to be, a beacon for others to flock to, for aid, companionship… whatever they required. To see so many not of their number joining their cause warmed her heart… more so with this woman, as she called up even older memories for the Minadrian Leader - millennia ago, when she had still be a youth herself (which was more years than she herself dared to try and count, ago), her brother Kavan had used music and magic as a weapon… he had been dead for so long that she barely thought of him these days, but still she missed him dearly.
It was Isleen's screams that caused the woman to whip round, sword gripped in tightly in hand, her Honour Guard alert and by her side the second she moved. If something dared to try and take the girl from her, before she had been given the chance to reconnect with her, then it would pay… and not just with it's life, she would make anyone who hurt the girl suffer. It was only when she saw the raven-haired girl in her more human form that she realised what the screams had been - she recalled how badly transforming could hurt the hybrid.
Hurrying to her side, forgetting her companions following in her footsteps, Kythe moved to aid the girl, putting one hand over Isleen's, her touch soft as she smiled at the woman, pouring her own life force into the spell the girl performed.
"I'm glad you came."

[Sorry I’m late to the show]
“Miss,” a figure whispered before shoving a piece of crumpled paper into the half breed’s hand. Isleen looked down then back up and suddenly the person was gone. Her eyes, mismatched with one green and one blue at the moment, scanned the words quickly. Initially, she wanted to believe it was a mistake but when she read who had sent her the message, her shoulders slumped and her head hung forward. She ran her free hand through her wild locks, shaking her hair slightly so her fingers could get through the waves. Isleen did not care much about helping people much less the gods but when she received the letter from Kythe, the wolf couldn’t ignore it. Kythe was one of the few people Isleen respected and cared for. When the dark haired girl was young, she had sporadic glimpses of the future. The Minadrias helped the hybrid channel them. Isleen still had a lot to learn about the gift but these visions had not begun in this new land. The idea that the burden had been lifted from her shoulders was too sweet to consider. Instead, she merely thanked the gods for each day without them, because soon enough they’d be back.
The fact that Kiba, the man that raised Isleen as his own and was her father as far as anyone was concerned, also was part of the guild made the decision to go that much easier. Isleen finished her ale and asked for her own pen and parchment. She quickly wrote a note to be sent back to the guild, addressed to Kiba specifically, that she would be there. The wolf then wrote a second note to be left for her mate to find. Given their recent turmoil, the girl knew she too needed to work on her accountability to him. After everything had been arranged, she made her way to the guild hall, shifting to her raven wolf form before entering.
She hung out in the shadows as people filled, waiting to spot her family and packmates. The wolf noticed her father and his partner. Initially she considered trailing behind them but instead she sat put longer, deciding she felt more comfortable in the pack where she could watch things. Call it paranoia considering they were ‘among friends’ but just because her family trusted these people didn’t mean she did. The dark wolf’s head tilted, watching Kythe intently. isleen knew an alpha when she saw one - and this pack leader was not going to walk through the gate before everyone else did. With a huff, Isleen prowled forward, brushing against the Minadrian woman briefly, then pounced through.
Selfishly, the wolf also wanted to see this magical place that seemed far too beautiful to be real but any possible allure was distorted by the chaos. She walked with her head low and tail alert. The flames and roaring dragon put her on edge. She licked her muzzle and smacked her lips together. Insects, especially poisonous ones, would not do her stomach well but that didn’t stop the hybrid’s hunger from surfacing. She was still part vampire, after all. The wolf didn’t have much time to take everyone into account before the arch protection caused her to feel wildly uncomfortable. Her wolf did not want to be there any longer, practically useless in this form. Isleen made break for it, running through the chaos to try to find a clearing of sorts. The faster she forced herself to shift, the more it hurt. Isleen couldn’t stop her screams. Once transformed, her clothes were tattered and her hair was matted to her back with sweat. Her eyes fully dilated and her finger nails had grown out to jagged points. The various aspects of her race were at odds but a piece of her felt some relief.
The raven-haired girl began running back to the group and mentally reached out to a vein of magic that ran through the valley. To her surprise, there were ley lines everywhere. Magic crashed into her with fierce purity like a rushing river, refreshing yet powerful. Bright magical symbols shone upon her skin. Her movements didn’t stop despite her bare feet. Isleen made her way to a group of healers. The scent of decay helped suppress her hunger as she gazed upon so many with open wounds. She fell to her knees and began mumbling the strongest healing spell she could muster. To her surprise, a greater healing spell poured from her lips from somewhere down deep. Teu, her sister, had always been the healer of the pair.
“Just hold on,” she murmured, repeating the spell again s quickly as she could, moving her hands above every wound she could find.

The soft strumming of the strings of a lyre reverberated through the air as the Abedi woman wove her magic within the protection of the mages. Though there was not much she could offer when it came to destroying the swarms, Naija could keep them at bay and ensure the others gathered here were protected from contracting the insects' madness. Swirling currents of air acted as a shielding wind around those taking up arms while she would change songs to apply a spell of archprotection upon them. The minstrel's fingers moved nonstop, yet she had no intention of allowing herself to be weary. A beautiful bird of many colors sat perched upon her shoulder, a rainbow phoenix whom she came to call a friend. Parvati was more than just a companion, she was Naija's eyes and ears while the woman focused the entirety of her being on her music. Every now and then the people who were fighting back against the moonstruck plague would feel their spirits lift and the fatigue in their bodies ease as the enchanted sound washed over them, with the bard's melodious voice putting words to the song.
O blessed moonlight cast by the Sisters
Have mercy upon the withering world
O exalted Celestials who hear our wishes
Withdraw the judgment thou hast unfurled
Stay thy hand of wrath and fury
Withhold thy ire and incense
Hear our cries of supplication and pity
Grant our people a second chance
Why hath thy hearts have turned against us?
What sins have we transgressed?
What laws hath we violated?
Which acts hath earned your unkindness?
Pray tell sweet Sisters, Canelux and Parvpora
How hath we displeased you to call down misfortune?
We plead our innocence and our honor
And lay them both upon the altar
Forgive our foolishness, Sisters green and white
Halt this ghastly lunatic blight
Grant Revaliir untainted light
Clear and sacred, shining bright.

A blast of flame erupted from the youth's fingertips as he pointed his armored hand at a group of purple insects that were buzzing around. The flames incinerated the infernal bugs, reducing them to cinders. This seemed like it'd be pretty easy, except there were so
many bugs buzzing all over the place. If they got too close, even though the lad had worn his best armor, they could probably find some place to crawl through heavy armor and attack the vulnerable flesh underneath. So he had to be careful. Everyone had to be careful.
It hadn't been long since Hiro and Blaze reunited in a volcano. Blaze saved Hiro from losing his mind, and now they were going to watch each other's back. They chanced upon a flyer warning about insects from the moons, and a guild hall. Now they were fighting the insects and helping Kythe out.
"Sure thing, Uncle, I won't let them touch me." Hiro unleashed a flamethrower-like wave of flame from his hand.
"Hah, he was always telling me I had to be faster than him!" He leaped into battle alongside Blaze shooting fire from his fingertips. His sword was not of much use at the moment, considering these were small insects.
"Oh! Hiya, Aunt Kythe! I've met her before. She was friends with my father. Maybe I should have mentioned it earlier, Blaze." Hiro saluted toward Kythe.
"Hope you've been doing well."

Thud
Thud
Thud
Three arrows pinned three of the insects to the wall nearest the gate. Blaze offered a wry grin towards the woman that had summoned the gate, and her impressive guild. They’d met before, but an awful long time ago – in a very distant land. Blaze never forgot a face; he knew instantly when he saw her who she had been. During that time, he had been laying low probably hiding in the shine of fire teaching Sabishii’s students how to fight.
As two dragons roared overhead Blaze turned to his nephew, Hiro with whom he had travelled the valley.
“Kill as many as you can but stay safe and stay close.” Blaze instructed Hiro. Not that he needed it, the young man was as remarkable as his father had been. But as his adopted Uncle Blaze it was difficult not to coddle him.
“And keep up, your dad was too slow!” He joked as they weighed into the skirmish.
It had only been a few days since Blaze had fallen through a crack in the sky into this strange world. In that time, he had stumbled across Hiro as if it was a divine act. The young man had needed him, and he had fallen into the world. They had held each other, and together found a tavern. They rested up, exchanging stories and sharing a fair few drinks. Then on his way to the alley for a piss he had spotted the notice about the epidemic, the creatures the moons (This world had two moons!) and a guild being rallied by a woman he had admired if only from a distance.
As one of the insects flew close by Kythe Blaze saw his opportunity and took it. With two arrows fired from his ancient bow he pinned the bug by its wings to the ground in front of her. Gracefully he moved across the field to her (making sure Hiro was keeping up of course.)
“Can we use them to make an elixir? Something to aid the sick?” He gestured to the trapped creature as he spoke, then offered her his tattooed hand to shake.
“I’m Blaze, that’s Hiro. We are here to help.”
Author: Attie, Posted: Sun Sep 29, 2019 7:06 PM, Post Subject: We Answer The Call (Event/Guild/Open)
Attie had her gameface on. She was ready for anything these bug jerks threw at her. For she had been preparing for this moment ever since she heard about these dastardly beings. Holding up a large strange brown puffy outfit, she inspected it for any holes or weaknesses. After finding none, she put the outfit on. The first three layers were all cloth, the second layer was cotton mixed with never melting icicles to keep her outfit cool, and the last layer was a thick leather.
This outfit covered from her neck down to her ankles. She then pulled on three layers of socks on both feet then stuck her feet in boots. Lastly, she put on two layers of clothe gloves and one layer of leather gloves. Attie then pulled on a thick leather helmet onto her head. It squished her cheeks a bit but otherwise fit well. Her glasses were built into the helmet to allow her to see while still protecting her from any potential stings. Attie's backpack had to have adjusted straps to fit on her back. Her outfit was complete and she looked like a giant puffy potato.
The outfit made her waddle a bit when she walked and made a swishing noise everytime she went somewhere but Attie didn't mind terribly. If it was safe, the noise didn't matter. The only drawback was that she couldn't use her hands for magic due to the heavy layers of gloves. Instead she had to use a wand which would make her magic slightly weaker than if she used her hands. But she had been practicing with the wand and it would do for what she needed. She began to waddle over to the rest of the group who were all listening to the grand speech that Kythe was making. After the speech, she opened up a gate to the valley and Attie waddled through the gate to get to the valley.
The insects were already rampant and there was a dragon flying in the air, trying to burn all of the bugs. Holding up her wand, Attie muttered a few incantations. A bright light erupted from her wand and began to swirl around the people who were near her. The light would create a forcefield around the people that would protect against projectiles and medium sized attacks. It wouldn't protect against things like a giant axe but would hopefully protect against stings. Attie also used her magic to send a magical forcefield to Kythe and Rnn. However, this would mean that she was relying on them to do most of the killing as her focus was on the spell. Her armor would hopefully protect against the stings as she made it thicker than the measure of their stingers.

After hearing Kythe’s speech, Rnn felt herself motivated to help. She was, though, unsure of what exactly she could do to help. Most of her capabilities were as a tactician, but that was only the case when it was with her old group. It would take time to learn the strengths and weaknesses of her fellow guild members, and time was something she didn’t have. No, she would have to work by striking down as many of the insects as possible.
Short term, she could use her dragon form. That would protect her from insect stings, or at least she hoped it would.
Rynn moved through the gate, and once she was through, immediately took to the skies, soaring high into the sky on her black dragon wings. As always, she took a few moments to enjoy the feeling of the wind rushing past, as not to take her heritage for granted. Her silver eyes flickered red, and flames scoured her body, leaving jet black scales in their wake. Her body grew larger, a draconic tail sweeping through the air suddenly.
She let out a roar, trying to make herself a target. The least she could do was draw their attention. To her surprise, though, they seemed mostly uninterested in her. Frustrated, she let out a second roar, and rushed to meet them. Whatever the reason, Rynn would work on killing as many as she could, and simply hope that someone else would take care of capturing some for research.

Another crisis, so soon after Angela's illness and Dalanesca's demise… but they were ready, this was what Kythe had brought them together for, to answer the call of those who might not be as strong as they were, or those who just needed aid.
As soon as word had reached her of the strange sickness plaguing the Valley of Vada, Kythe had sent out word to all of her people, calling them back to Mélamar, gathering their forces and strength in one place. The Au-Ra, now clad in new clothes they had fashioned from linen and leather, mingled with the others who had come to pledge their loyalty to the Guild. They grew day by day, new members finding their way to the Hall via invitation or from the notices Kythe and the others had placed in the Taverns across Revaliir.
Once everyone had gathered in the main hall, Kythe held up a hand to get their attention.
"Alright, there have been reports of an illness spreading through the Valley of Vada, strange insects have been spotted and seem to be the cause of it. We're going to do what we can for those who live in the Valley. Healers, Clerics; we need you to tend to those who have been directly affected by the insects, deal with their symptoms and see if you can find a way to reverse it, there may also be some who have been injured because of those who are sick - from what the reports are saying the stings can create hallucinations, so expect some very frightened and uncooperative people. Mages; I want you to keep everyone protected, shield them from the insects and deter them as best you can, keep our people safe while we aid those in need. The rest of you, I want us to eradicate as many of the insects as possible, but not all of them. I think we need to capture some so we can study them, see what they are and find a cure for the illness they are spreading.
Alright, everyone ready? Mages get your shields ready to protect the group, everyone stay close to your assigned groups, don't stray out of the protection our Mages supply. Let's go."Kythe held her hands out before her and summoned a Gate, she watched as her people moved through it, smiling as Kaya and Kiba trotted past her in their wolven forms, the Minadrian woman happy to see her adopted son and her daughter so happy together. Once all were through, Kythe strode through herself, glancing upwards at the sudden blast of flames and smiling as she realised that it was Valandil looking to burn as many of the nasty insects from the sky as he could. Closing the Gate behind herself the woman nodded to her people. It was time for Nosse to go to work once more.
