The two clergymen watched as the riders came up close to the barrier of light, one of them using an ice spell to destroy some of the bug and give them a clear path. The man entered the safe zone and spoke that he had some of his own infected. Jonah nodded in to the affirmative that they were followers of Light as he spoke. ”Bring them in, we can get them comfortable and safe until Lady Glory returns.” Jonah said and ushered to them for to come in.

In the mean time Adam placed his hands together and looked to be in prayer for a moment before opening his eyes and moving to help in any way he could. ”I have let the Goddess know of your arrival, she won’t be long at what she is doing and will come back here.” He informed Zanar.

The area suddenly became a brighter as a ball of pure light was, within an eye blink, floating within the safe area. ”I’m already here.” Sirona’s voice could be heard coming from the ball of light, both clergymen were a bit wide eyed at the sight. Sirona’s usually form shifted from the ball of light and she stood there as her normal self, wings and armour and all. Her brilliant blue eyes looking over the scene for a moment before seeing the look on her clergymen’s faces. ”So, turns out I can turn into a pure light form and move at the speed of light as well. It’s been coming in handy since I figured that out.” She chuckled and turned her attention to Zanar and her eyes narrowed for a moment before she figured out what the sense was she felt upon arriving here. ”Ah, I see, welcome, I am Sirona, it’s a pleasure to meet you at last.” Sirona gave Zanar a slight bow befitting their respective stations and his seniority as a fellow Deity.

”Uh, Lady Glory, his men are infected as well.”

”Yes! I’ll take of that right away.” Turning from Zanar, being careful of her wings not to hit anyone, Sirona went to wherever the men were. Standing over one of them she placed her hands out over him, palms down. Closing her eyes Sirona’s hands lit up with light and that wrapped around the infected man as well. Zanar would be able to sense that Sirona’s light was flowing through him and purging the bugs’ toxin from his blood and body. After a few moments her light faded and she moved to the others in turn.

After she was done she turned back to Zanar. ”They’ll need to rest for a time, they are welcome to stay here in that time if you wish. I have set up other safe zones like this,” She gestured to the mage’s staff in the middle of the light field. ”I charge the crystal with my powers and it creates an area where the insects are unable to enter. How are things for you, Zanar? Have you heard anything as to why this is happening?”

It worried the deity that there was naught but silence. Silence not from the cries of panic as those that traveled through the valley, but rather the silence from the assailants themselves. He heard nothing, nor did he feel nothing from them, they were attacking as if they were dead. It was strange to him, as he could always hear the thoughts of the animals around, but these insects were not even influenced by his sphere. Their sting was deadly and tainted, his clergy had tried to heal those that were stung with antivenoms from other creatures but nothing had taken effect.

Zanar had already taken action to help the people of Veda though, as these insects were unnatural and breaking the balance of the world by even existing. Even though he may not be able to heal those that are afflicted by their stings, he could help by trying to keep them at bay. He had assembled most of his clergy and rangers to come to veda. He had them working in at a minimum of three-man teams, two to protect and one to carry various numbers of cages that he would have them place down. Even though these were unnatural pests, one of the best ways to get rid of a swarm is to bring in predators regardless.

Risks were involved with what he was doing, as even if he increased the members of each team insects would still slip through the cracks of the defense, luckily though it seemed another member of the conclave had been erecting zones for people to seek haven into. Zones of light, he had felt the ascension of another but did not expect them to bring action so soon. It did impress the god. So he rode out with some of his followers in tow, he wanted to have a meeting with this other deity and see what else they could do to end the suffering.

The resounding buzz of wings was picked up by the shifters ears as they got closer to one of the consecrated zones. Waiting for a moment to strike now? Strange, what is controlling them…if anything He thought approaching the zone. Their attention turned onto the god when he got closer and started to swarm away from the zone and after him and those behind. Holding out his hand, Zanar waited for them to get closer before frying out a cone of freezing before him. The swarm dropped dead onto the ground. ”Do not touch them, who knows if their stinger will still release the toxin while they are dead.” he ordered.

”Release the cages around the area, and watch yourselves.”

Dismounting his horse, he entered the safe zone and looked at the two men who were before him. They looked like clergy members, he didn’t know for sure as he had yet to meet the new deity. ”Followers of the light, if I am not mistaken? I have a few of my own that have been afflicted with their tainted sting, if you could look after them I'd appreciate it.” He could not feel the new deity here at the moment.

Small safe zones were being created within Veda as time went on now that the bugs had started to spread their deadly disease. The Goddess of Light and Strength was using her magic to keep the bug away from herself by using holy light to keep them at bay. She would drop down from the sky now and then and jam a magical staff into the ground and infuse it with her power. Charged to full the staff created a zone of safety that was thirty by thirty feet, not large to be sure, but she was able to create more of them in and around the Veda area.

After Sirona would create the safe area she would open a gate back to her Cathedral and some of her clergy would come through. They would bring tents and cots and food to help anyone that might see the shining beacon that was the staff. Medical help would also be available for any who had been stung by the bugs, if nothing else they could be comfortable. Sirona had found out that she could cure those stung if she got to them in time, cleanse them with the purity of her Light focused through her healing magic.

Currently at this particular ‘camp’ Sirona had five of her clergy looking after seven patients who had seen the light of the staff and followed it. They were still in the earliest stages of the disease so they had time and Sirona had been informed by her clergy that she was needed here soon. She would be there but she was also trying to establish other safe areas and get back to the ones she had created to heal people there as well.

”That is most disturbing.” One of the male clergy spoke looking out beyond the invisible wall of light created by the staff to see the mass of bug swarming on the other side looking in at them.

”Take heart, Jonah, the Light will protect us, Sirona would not leave us if she did not believe we were safe.”

”Ah, you’re right, Adam, she will protect us.” Jonah agreed as he looked back out towards the bugs again, his eyes narrowed. ”Ah, there, I think there are more people coming this way!”
