"Please say something!" Akira whined. Ever since she had returned home from the Ziggurat at the bottom of the ocean, Neera had not spoken a word. In fact, it felt more like she was chasing the puca as she pleaded. Where usually she would be something ridiculously cute, curled up in a pocket, the shifter now walked as a white tiger ahead of Akira. "Neera!"

A sigh came from the stubborn creature. "You left me at the inn, disappeared on me, only to do something so stupidly dangerous that you mother would churn in her grave! What could I possibly have to say?" The foxling pouted as she slowed to a stop. "I said sorry." Neera huffed and continued to lead the way to the temple. Tears welled in Akira's eyes, her feet pounding against the ground, carrying the child rapidly away.

That had been hours ago, and Akira was now hopelessly lost. Snowy hair cascaded down her back as her ears quivered nervously. Her red rimmed eyes looked up at anyone she saw. Finally, she came up to a tall, lanky man. "Excuse me, but you not see my puca, have you? Akira lost her." The child's usually rumpled clothing now appeared tattered, half ripped to shreds. To her chest, she clutched a toy white fox protectively. "We heading to Naota Temple, to meet god of dreams."

When, where, and why?

The people here were strange.  This land was strange.  He had never before seen people with turquoise colored tattoos before.  Yet he walked among them as if nothing was wrong.  This wasn't the first time he blended into a crowd.  He heard some of the natives speaking of some kind of train that allowed tourists to see inside this place from above.  So an outsider wouldn't be far out of the ordinary here amongst the natives.
His eyes slowly scanned the seemingly normal surroundings.  Though he spoke to no one he was listening intently to the conversations around him.  These people spoke the same language as him…so where was he?  Come to think of it…where was he from?  Why couldn't he remember?  Clearly something was wrong.  He knew his name, he knew this language and understand the basics of being around society.  So why couldn't he remember anything else?  However, something tugged at the back of his mind telling him that things like this happening to him were, unfortunately, normal.
This place seemed safe and nice.  Though before he had entered, the "Scar", he had seen the light of day arise across the land.  That was the first moment he felt "awake".  After that he had just walked forward.
He was stopped a few times by some citizens clearly warning him, easily seeing him as a tourist, to not venture out at night.  He would not reply to them, just keep walking.
Why would they warn him about the night?  He had clearly been traveling in the night, otherwise how could he have seen the sun rising that morning?  Could that possibly be related to why he couldn't remember what was going on?  Did he belong here and had just gone out at night and something happened?
There were so many questions, so many that he was now feeling distraught.  It clearly showed on his face as he walked out of the way of the people walking around and just stood staring at nothing.
What was he going to do?  Where was he going to go?  Why couldn't he remember anything?

Fiiizzzz

That sound!  He quickly looked down at his hands.  Something seemed to be seeping away…HIS MAGIC!  That was right!  He was a psionic!  Or more accurately he WAS.  He could feel this world rejecting his old power.  They fizzled away from him like sand slipping through his fingers.

"Great." He murmured to himself.

He felt so alone.  Even amongst the people…was there no one who knew him…did anyone have an answer for him?
