As Xerxez carried her towards the table in the center of the room, Serafina did not fight him. She could have, had she wanted to - she may have forgiven him but there was a deep seeded fear that he would lash out at her again. However, she told herself that was something she would need to get over quickly. She told herself internally that she needed to try to trust him, as that was the only way that they would be able to move on from the rift that all of the culminating events had set between them.
When he placed her hand against his face, she caressed his cheek softly while he nuzzled her. He asked for her forgiveness, and of course she would grant it to him. She had never seen Xerxez like this before - asking for forgiveness and showing emotion, remorse, even. He showed her affection before looking up to her, and she looked down, meeting his gaze. She nodded in understanding, still not saying anything yet. She wasn’t quite sure what to say to him. She knew that his outbursts were slightly warranted - and after all, he was still a fairly new vaewolf by comparison. His emotions would fluctuate, and that included rage. He didn’t have control over that by any means. But he would need to learn that Nemesis was going to be a part of their lives together whether or not Xerxez wanted it to be like that.
He grasped her hand with his own, kissing each of her fingers as he did so. She noted the sad and pained look on his face, which caused a sort of pained expression of her own. As his lips hovered above hers, he begged her not to ever leave him, and her way of obliging was the bridge the gap between the two, their lips meeting in a soft kiss. At that moment, it felt as though the connection between the pair had broken, but the kiss they now shared proved it was stronger than it had been. “You need to know that following me anywhere will entail him being a part of our lives,” she said, trailing off. There was no point in saying Nemesis’s name out loud - Xerxez would know of who she spoke. “But that is no reason to say that we cannot make our own happiness - together,” she said, pressing her forehead against his, raising a hand to his cheek, stroking his face gently. “You and I will have a lifetime to share together. Perhaps it is time that we start enjoying it,,” she suggested.
A moment later, Serafina’s lips met those of Xerxez again, this time with a bit more fire and passion than the previous kiss they had shared. She pulled him towards her, reclining back on the table and using her brute strength to pull Xerxez down on top of her, holding him to her. He could turn the tables at any moment, but for the time being, she did not want to be the one in control - but she didn’t necessarily want Xerxez to be in control. For once, she wanted to share a moment between them that was neither dominant nor submissive - but one where they simply just were. They were together in their passion and that was what Serafina needed.
Her hands found their way around Xerxez’s neck and pulled his face down to hers, where her lips found his with a newfound sense of longing and need. This was a different kiss from the ones they usually shared. There was no sense of lustful forcefulness to it, but rather Serafina’s desire to be close to Xerxez permeated the air around them. It seemed that Serafina did not care that they were in a place that anyone could walk in on them, with what was likely to occur. She paused for a moment, pulling away from him. “You know, that elixir…” she trailed off. “Save it,” she whispered. “I want this to be real, I want this to be us… just us, and only us,” she whispered, before pulling him back down to her once more.
