Ashlynn was caught off guard by the mannerisms of this man. He was no ordinary man. He wasn’t from the Highlands at all. The more she looked at him the more he looked like some noble lord from a larger city.
She caught his look into her eyes as she heard a voice that clearly her father could not. Why? Why would he want someone like her? It was so alluring as she found herself holding her breath. Her soft dainty hand took his as he offered it. “Yes.”
The small half-elf wanted to be loved and taken care of. She didn’t know if this man was telling the truth but her blue eyes cut from his only for a second so Damien could pay Garrett the coin. Those blue eyes of his were stunning and terrifying for some reason. She couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something so much more to Damien.
“My name?” She said it almost in a whisper before she snapped out of her gaze. “It’s Ashlynn… Just Ashlynn.” She had no father anymore as far as she was concerned. She had no need for his family name. Ashlynn hoped that he choked on that silver fortune he had landed and died a slow death. She wanted to see her mother smack him for what he had done. “And… I’ll come with you.” She reaffirmed.

The path to the farm house was rough, even for Damien. As they passed what remained of the man’s fields, the demon could tell that he had not taken care of them at all. The man was taking what life had dealt him in the worst way possible. Still, the fact that he was selling a woman was perfect for him.
After all, she would be his. She would join the Faith.
As they neared the house, he used the word cunt. It was a despicable word, in Damien’s opinion. Uncivilized. He may have been using the women as mere fuel, but that did not mean he lacked respect for them. After all, what he offered in return was far more valuable.
As Damien entered the room, he felt her presence. The aura of magical power that she held was near deafening. The girl was far from useless. If anything, she could single handedly feed his insatiable hunger for weeks on end. The demon grabbed at his heart, which had started to race. He could have taken her right then and there, but that would have defeated the whole purpose.
No, he could wait…
Damien waved his hand, and took a soft bow. “Alas, it is true. He has offered you to me, in exchange for a healthy sum of coin.” He straightened himself out, his piercing blue eyes locked on to her own blue.
Girl. I mean no harm…. I offer you something more than this meager existence. He held out his hand. “My name is Damien. Would you like to come with me?”
I offer you a place where you can be free of this torment. I offer you the chance to be something more. If you would come with me, I would grant you a home where you are loved and cared for. You could become one of the precious chosen.. His voice echoed in her mind with a strange lull to it, near hypnotizing.
“Ah yes…your silver,” Damien stated, pulling out his coin pouch and handing it to the man. “Take your coin, good sir….” He turned his gaze to the woman. “Now…what is your name, my dear?” His voice was smooth and sultry.

The man fumbled his words a bit at the other man’s offer on his daughter. “Surely the wench isn’t worth that much.” However, that would be enough to pay for his farm for years. He could remarry and have a normal family. The possibilities with that much silver… “Sold.”
Garrett got up and led the man back to the small farmland. He could see that the fireplace and a few candles had been lit now. The dancing shadow of his daughter busying herself with housework was showing through the window. “Good the cunt came out of hiding.” This would be easier now.
He opened the door and immediately Ashlynn had a broom in her hand ready to beat him if he came too close to her. There was a scowl on her face. Her father was at least six foot three inches… so he was already much bigger than she is. “This is Ashlynn. You’ll find she is rather useless… Girl, what are you doing?”
“Cleaning the house after your rampage. If Mom was still here she would have-” He slammed her across the face.
“Don’t talk about Gianna. Now, this kind sir is going to give us the money we need for the farm but I told you to him.”
There was a look of shock on her face as she looked from her father to the man. “THAT WAS YOUR GRAND SCHEME?! To sell me?”
“Of course, men like small fragile women like yourself. I would have sold you to all the men in the tavern if I thought it would get my farm in order.” Her father’s words hurt but Ashlynn lowered the broom.
“The farm is a wreck because you let it wither. Just because Mom died doesn’t mean you can just go and do whatever you want!” Ashlynn’s voice was strong even after the slap which left the skin of her cheek red.
“You are mine. Don’t forget that. Now about that silver…”

It had been a stroke of luck that Damien had been in that bar. The demon had assumed his mortal guise, his piercing blue eyes gazing at the crowd that gathered around the drunk man in a fervor to bid for his daughter’s virgin body.
What disgusting creatures. As he stood up, the smell of alcohol washed over him. Not only was the father of this poor creature completely wasted, but many of the men involved in the bid seemed inebriated as well.
The demon removed the hood of his cloak, and brushed out his light brown hair with his fingers. His secondary arms were disguised once more as chains, casually wrapped around his body. It was inefficient, but most mortals would fear his true form.
All but you, my sweet Angels, he thought to himself with a sly smile. Only they knew his true form. Only they respected what he truly was. Desired it. Craved it. Begged for it….
“If the first one goes, I’ll pay for seconds! Hell, most of us wouldn’t mind a shot at ‘er!” one of the men in the back said, holding up his coin purse. “Ain’t that right!?” There were a few cheers all around, which only made the demon furious.
They know not what they are wasting…With an outward appearance of calm, the demon started towards the crowd. As he reached the man in the very back, Damien placed his hand on his shoulder.
Leave. There was a slight pulse of mana, and the man looked dazed for a moment before deciding it would be better to walk home. After all, why waste his time with some silly woman? The demon slid forward, and within moments the crowd had lessened, and the few that remained seemed more subdued, as if rethinking their life decisions.
“Ah yes, good sir,” Damien said with a suave voice. “I would like to take you up on this…offer of yours.” The demon produced his coin pouch. ‘Four thousand silver. That should suffice, correct?” His voice was smooth as silk, as if enticing the man. “Now, would you be a dear and show me to the lady?”

Things hadn’t been the same since her mother died three months ago. All of them had been happy. It wasn’t normal that a man like Garrett had taken a woman like Gianna. Not for the area, they were in. Gianna came from Sularia, a beautiful tanned elf from the oasis city of Rosenites while Garrett was a warrior from the Highlands. At least he used to be. They had settled down for a life of farming when Gianna became pregnant.
Now… All of that hard work was falling apart. “Where are you, you little cunt?” Her father’s voice boomed from downstairs. He had been getting more and more violent lately. Lucky for Ashlynn that she was used to Highland raids or at least she was taught what to do in the event that men stormed the house. Gianna had been smart enough to realize that Ashlynn’s life would be tough. She was a small woman of four feet and eleven inches but she had a curvaceous body. Gianna knew there was a chance for her to be coveted and so there had been a procedure put in place should their home be attacked.
Her father in his drunken rage had forgotten all about it. Ashlynn looked like her mother with her not only her skin but also her brown hair. The only thing that she appeared to have from her father was his striking blue eyes. Her heart was thumping fast though as she heard her father grow near. She was hiding inside something.
“I know how to make the money we need sweet little cunt,” her father’s voice seemed harmless for a moment. “WHERE ARE YOU?!” He was flipping stuff now. The rage subsided after a few more minutes as she heard the door slam. A deep breath escaped Ashlynn’s lips as she laid there hiding.
Meanwhile, Garrett was headed back to the local tavern. He slammed the door in with his drunken stagger and go up to the bar. “I got a beautiful daughter that home that doesn’t know a man’s touch. I’m willing to sell her first night to the highest bidder.” He turned to the whole tavern and put his arms up. “You won’t be disappointed!”
