The door swung closed swiftly behind her mother. Visits of this nature to her newly established shoppe always made Violet feel anxious, tense, and unbelievably foul. She never did understand the criticisms and judgements put forth by the older woman. Other parents merely worried and looked out for their young, Daisy insisted on chiding Violet about every conceivable thing under the stars. Like she was not aware that she was getting older without marrying, Violet knew this. She did not understand why her mother constantly brought up the topic as if it were the only thing in her life. Her mother was a herbalist, her father was a member of the King's guard, with 14 children. By the Lion there was no point in focusing on marrying Violet off just yet. She had started up her own shoppe away from her mother's, she had set out to start a life on her own, perhaps buy a house, travel, trade, she had not made her mind up just yet. The pestering from her mother was too much to bear.

Smoldering with frustration, she began to shake as she organized her work space. Slamming things about never proved useful, and yet she could barely help herself. Taking a deep breath and huffing loudly in the empty room, Violet stopped moving for a moment to compose herself. It was too late in the day to start another project. Taking pause, she grabbed her cloak from the hook near the door, picked up her staff, and locked the shoppe behind her as she left. It would be much better to wander the market place for a sweet treat instead of staying within a building and fuming for a few hours.

As she made her way through the streets, as she always did, Violet began to distract herself by looking at the various lions. They made her immensely happy as she traveled through Mamlak. It was such a great wonder to behold as the different depictions and artists paid tribute to the royalty of the city. She enjoyed boasting residence from one of the greatest cities in Canelux, where many different people and creatures from across the continent came to trade. It was particularly easy to get ingredients for many of her potions. On this day she was especially glad for the mild winter as she left her cloak lazily draped over her smaller shoulders. The wind was not proving too much of a problem, but it would likely grow colder as the long hours turned into evening.

Lianna strolled slowly along the streets of Mamlak,  her purple dress seemed muted compared to the surplus amounts of gold that adorned the locals. She was regretting the light chiffon fabric that rippled in the breeze; there was a slight chill in the air. Her arms wrapped together beneath her breasts to stave off the cold. Her golden aura blended in quite nicely though it was not made of anything substantial. Around her clung a light that glowed gold gently in the sunlight. Her blonde hair hung down her back in gentle waved. The buildings here fascinated her. Many sported carved lions guarding the entrances, or carved into railings. The people who milled about had tan faces and wore golden lions on chains around their necks. Many walked with staves with carvings Lianna didn't understand.  The culture of the city stood out so profoundly she couldn't help but marvel.

Lianna ran her fingers along one of the gold lions in the middle of the market area; she was here to find one of the shop owners. She had been told that there was a new apothecary, someone who was younger. If the owner were a youth, they would be more likely to assist Lianna, where the elder ones turned her down. She was traveling the world to petition assistance for her dying race. While a shop owner didn't seem likely to help, Lianna needed connections in the city before she could approach those of a higher class. Someone who had a newly opened shop and who had lived here their entire life would be of value to her. She needed information on the political state of the city along with an ally.

As she was looking at the intricate mane of a lion a loud crack resounded behind her. She turned just in time to see a balcony come crashing down onto a merchant's cart. Dust was flung into the air as bits of the sharp stone bit into Lianna's exposed flesh. As she ran forward, she noticed many people standing around watching the mayhem. A few people took a step forward, but Lianna pushed through them to see if there were any injured among the rubble. From what she could recall there had been voices coming from above. With a huff she moved a larger piece of rock, covering the leg of an unconscious young man.

Lianna placed two hands on the male's leg, and her aura's light glowed brightly, absorbing the powers of the sun. The light flowed from her aura onto the man's leg as the broken skin knit itself back together. She began to sweat despite the cold and continued to ministrate to the wounded. Two others were hurt, one more from the balcony and the woman the cart had belonged. If she worked quickly enough, they wouldn't be in any danger, but she knew she would be worn out from using so much magic. Out of the corner of her eye she saw another woman with blonde hair watching.

Truly the whole event had been relatively blasé, though she enjoyed the lions and art depicted on the street, Violet could not hope for more excitement more. It was all very boring, and more than once she wished for more vendors to be opened this time of the year. It was far more mild then usual, as it was winter, but that did not mean people could stand the scorch year round. The constant turn over from one merchant to another meant that sometimes Violet could purchase things she needed, things she wanted, while other times she had the worst time imaginable getting the most simple of ingredients. With the sun beating down on the city, people danced from shadow to shadow hoping to keep cool just a bit longer. For violet it was cooler, even if it felt like summer for people of all other lands.

As she was studying some Elder Berries, a loud crack rang out into the open air, causing Violet to wrench violently around to find the source of such an alarming noise. With wide blue eyes, she frantically searched the surrounding area, only to find that a balcony had loosened and fell upon unsuspecting people below. Violet stood, rooted in place as people gasped and watched with mouths open. It was such an unusual thing to witness first had, especially in Mamlak, that the locals had no idea how to process this information quickly. She was no great traveler or healer, just a simple girl from a simple trading town.

Luckily for everyone, another person sprang into action the moment chaos ensued. This blonde girl raced forward, pushing people aside, and that was enough to make Violet move forward as well. "Please!" She cried out as she placed her hand on the shoulders of others, "move aside! Let her work!" As the dust began to clear, Violet could see that the girl had placed her hands on the leg of an unconscious man caught beneath some of the rubble. Pushing more of the bystanders away, Violet shooed them until they meandered about their original path. "Good. Now go." She said one final time to break up the onlookers.

Blue eyes watched the shinning light emitted from the girl's hands. "By the lion?" She gasped the words as she watched in awe. Never in her life had Violet witnessed something as beautiful as this, and now that she was witnessing it first hand, she could not look away. Then it was over and the man woke with a start. His cries of surprise drowned out the pitiful sobs of anguish from the other two injured. It was only in this moment that Violet sprang into action.

Kneeling next to the woman that laid beside the cart, she began to pull healing herbs from her pockets and placed them on one of the woman's worst injuries. Wrapping cloth around these, the woman cried out at the careless fingers that worked on her. Violet was no healer, she was a-

Without a second thought she pulled two vials from her bag. "Here!" She demanded as she guided the woman to drink up. Rejuvenation potions were her specialty. Uncorking the other, she guided it to the lips of the man that had been on the balcony when it fell. Hopefully they would be right as rain within a few more moments. For now she began to move some of the debris away from the injured.

Lianna was glad to see someone else run forward to help while too many people would only get in her way one was acceptable. The blonde woman administered some kind of potion to the remaining two injured victims. The man she had been healing was alert again, and she placed a hand on his chest when he tried to rise. The flesh around his wound was healed, but if he strained it too much, it would reopen.

"Sir, you need to rest. Was this your home? I can help you back inside to bed so you can recover completely." she asked as she put her shoulder under his armpit to leverage him up. He nodded groggily and she deposited him inside the lower portion of his home. When she returned to the accident, the two left were standing on their own. It looked like the other woman knew her way around a potion. Lianna approached her to thank her.

"Thank you for helping out, if I'd have had to heal all three I probably would be asleep by now," she admitted as she wiped dust and sweat from her brow. Despite the label of Glaciem, it was warm and humid in this strange city. With a sigh she looked over herself, noting that her hair looked more white than blonde. Her golden aura flashed magenta as she blushed. There were dozens of people standing around gawking at the incident. She had made a spectacle of herself and she was covered head to toe in dust. The woman who had helped her was dressed like the others standing around so she assumed she was a local.

"Is there a place I could go to clean up?" she asked as she gestured to her no longer purple chiffon dress. "I'm Lianna by the way."

Lianna's aura changed to saffron yellow, signaling the weariness she felt after spending so much energy on healing. She would need to sit and eat something if she wasn't going to nap. Her shoulders slumped and she looked around for a place to escape to, but the people pressed in closer and began to ask her questions. This hadn't been what she had planned upon entering the city. She had wanted to stay quiet and find some allies before coming out politically. It would make her final goal more difficult if these people began whispering about her abilities before she had a chance to explain them. Not to mention she was the last of her kind and surprised always helped her gain sympathy. At the moment she couldn't even bring herself to be upset about it. Exhaustion seeped deep into her bones and she looked at the helpful woman pleadingly while swaying on her feet.

While Lianna was still tending to the wounded, and Violet was done administering the potions, she rose to her feet and began to talk to address the crowd. Standing there with their mouths agape, she told them to either help or move on. Most of them began to wander away, but a few stayed to help clean up the rubble and debris. Turning just in time to catch the other blonde woman help the injured man up, Violet move over to assist them but by the time she was near they had already gone inside and it appeared the other woman was capable of managing. For the moment she began to assist with the clearing of the rubble and checking over any other injuries anyone else might have. When Lianna expressed her gratitude at the assistance, Violet smiled softly at her in amusement. "There is no need to thank me. I am just glad I carry potions with me at all time." She reached down to the belt pouch and withdrew a bright blue potion. "I am sure you need this now, especially if using magic drains you so." Holding out the small vial for Lianna to take, she waited before returning to help. Now only a few people were left to pick up the splintered wood and crumbled stone.

"Yes, if you would like privacy follow me." She nodded to the people helping with the rest of the disaster before guiding the illuminated woman to her shoppe. It was clear she was not from Mamlak, considering how she reacted to the injured so quickly. If she were from the city she would know of the different places to clean up, or she would make her way home instead. Leading Lianna through the streets, past foreign vendors, she unlocked the door to her apothecary shoppe and guided Lianna into the building. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Lianna." Violet said as she removed the cloth from the large front window to let light into the shop. "My name is Violet Mentis. This is my Apothecary Shop. A bucket of water is over there, let me get you a cloth." She gestured towards the back where the water was set.

With a careful eye, Violet watched the glowing woman. She had never met anyone that had a glowing property to her. It was strange and kept Violet on her toes. Gripping her staff tightly, she began to play with the engravings on the surface of it for only a moment. It was not that strange to see foreign people within Mamlak considering how much trading they did with other creatures, but this person was not the typical elf or orc, she was more exotic than most. "What brings you to Mamlak?" Violet asked innocently as she began to unpack some of the newer ingredients she had bought before the accident that had caught her attention.
