He was an enchanting man really. The way he lit his pipe to the way he blew purple blue smoke from his mouth. "Well the desert is far away from here. It is on the opposite end of this continent." She took her fingers and put one on his chest and moved it to the other end. "It is in an oasis. That is where we come from. We are mostly women and for the most part that is unknown as to why. We are cursed some say."

She took a moment to dunk herself under the water and come back up. She had her back to him and brought her hair up and managed to tie it. There was almost like a story on her back tattooed in vibrant colors. "I was born within the first century of its life. I'm rather old but I would like to think of myself more like a fine wine than anything really." She moved one of her hands to a mark on her back. "This is the start…" She trailed her hand and moved it down to half way where the ink was rather fresh. "This is where we are now."

Turning to him. "The details are in elven on the glaive that I brought. I'm more like a history book if you choose to see me like that." She came back over to him so she could stroke the bear's soft fur. "My people are warriors. We are alchemists, healers, and scholars. We are the type of people who long who learn about everyone else but stay hidden within our desert."

Her wild eyes watched him peacefully. "Journeying around until we are called home is just one of the many joys of being a Rosenite. Though I would prefer not to ever  be called home unless I have to." She chuckled and swam away from him. She floated on the surface of the water and blew the thick hot fog around them away for a moment. "What about your people?"

Blaze had seen all manner of peoples on his travels, but Bryony was one of the most beautiful women he had ever seen. Her skin was tanned almost golden, and her eyes sparkled like a sea of diamonds and sapphires. She replied to him with a grin, before stabbing her weapon into the ground. Blaze was distracted looking at the markings when they were suddenly covered in her robes. In a moment she was in the water with him, washing her face.

Blaze flashed her a smile before reaching into his bag for his pipe, it was a foot long and already stuffed with tobacco. He lit it with a click of his fingers and took a long breath on it while he considered what Bryony said to him. “I once lived by a desert, but that was in a land far away.” He said in between breaths on the pipe. He exhaled a swirling cloud of purple blue smoke before speaking again. “I am new to this place Bryony. Could you tell me of the people of your desert?”

Glaube had fallen into a blissful slumber, she opened her big brown eyes for a few seconds to take in the woman; but went to sleep as soon as Blaze’s free hand stroked her head. What kind of woman was he encountering here? She was bold as brass, with a regal air to her, and her eyes swam like the sea. His face spread into a wide grin, he was looking forward to finding out.

Steady breaths. Clear your mind. Focus.

These were the things running through the Rosenites mind as she sat up on the high rock. The hot air did not bother her as she meditated. Her glaive was down below her leaning against the rock. Long black hair hung down her body. Towards the front it was elegantly decorated with gold beads that appeared to originate from Malmak.

Breathe.

Malmak was where her parents had journeyed from to join the free city of Sularia. She was their first and only child before they vanished.

Let go.

Born to die and to rise was what her elders had told Bryony in her youth. Now she was old and for the most part wise as she focused any anger she might have towards the world. DaeLuin had fallen, probably blown up, but that was alright to her. Here she could go to her old lover's grave and talk to him. It had been a time long before elves and Rosenites of the oasis mated or even held relations. They had been an oddity and frowned at but alas he died in war like many others.

Deep breath. Don't hate.

She was the leader of the order of oracles but mostly she was absentee as she found being confined to one place made her feel odd. Finally she opened her blue eyes that moved like the waters surrounding Apoy Island. Her deeply tanned skin shimmering with the sweat and dust of her travels.

Jumping down she grabbed her glaive and used it as a walking stick. Slowly she pulled down her robes and was about ready to toss them when she stumbled onto a scene of bear and man. Cocking an eyebrow the man turned his attention on her. She took his hand silently but gave him a smile in return. "Peace it shall be. They call me Bryony." She stabbed the hand crafted glaive into the ground. It had beautiful markings on it. It was finely carved from bone and hard wood. It had charms around the metal blade. Throwing her robes up onto the glaive she slid into the water.

"Don't mind me. I need to wash the travels off me." Being as old as she was seeing a man being 'vulnerable' did not really affect her much anymore. She cupped water and threw it up onto herself at first. The dirt and grime running off of her into the water. "You would think that the desert would not want to come with you when you leave it. The voice of the desert does not like new places or so the stories say."

Blaze spun flamboyantly, he thrust his hands before him and a huge scorching burst of flame issued from them. It was a powerful spell, and one that he had only just learned. His young face beamed as he produced the magical fire, hot as a dragon’s breath. He spun around again, and sent an equally impressive smog of flame. Coming to this island had been a great idea, the fire energy from the volcanoes made the casting easier somehow. The advice Blaze had received from the chief had been invaluable to him.

A while later, the elf was on his way to a nearby hot pool. Running around the path a few feet ahead of him was the bear cub Glaube. She was happy with her new friend Blaze, and was really enjoying the climate and food she found here. Blaze watched her roll across the path in front of him. She was growing quickly now, already she was bigger than a grown wolf; but she was still mostly legs and fluff.

Glaube had spent her morning practicing her ambushing skills, whilst Blaze had practiced his fire magic. Both of them were looking forward to the hot bath ahead. Upon arriving Blaze slipped off his equipment and clothes. He stretched his aching muscles and slipped into the lightly bubbling water. The Elf submerged himself to the neck and closed his eyes as the warmth comforted his aches. Glaube the bear cub found herself a shallow spot, and only her huge shaggy brown head could be seen above the waterline beside the elf.

Their piece was disturbed as someone arrived at the spring just behind them. Blaze spun to see a woman, he rubbed water into his Hazel eyes and gave her a polite smile. “Hello! I’m Blaze.” His eyes flickered to the pile of his weapons and clothes, neatly folded beside the pool. His face flushed a light red, but he held his cool. “You caught me at a vulnerable time.” He offered her his hand, wrinkled and wet as it was. “Let us remember this day we met in peace.”
