The crisis had been averted. Elven guards were able to rest easy once more as the ethereal rabbit had finally been called back to where it should be. Cole frowned slightly as he sheathed his large daggers. Many had come together to bring the situation to a final closing, but there was still the question of how to prevent it from happening again. The demon hunter coughed slightly as he turned to glance back at the city of Sidhiel. There were still more supplies that he needed to purchase, but it was unclear if the merchants would feel safe enough to return to their stores. Cole shook his head and turned to walk back to the settlement.

Evening had begun to settle over the island, and this triggered the lighting of the floating silver lanterns. The glow they gave off was calming. It was a much needed effect after such a day that they had all endured. Cole was able to gain access to the city once more and this time there seemed to be an easier time of it. The guards had seen the effort that Cole had put in to help keep the city safe from danger. Was it possible that he was hallucinating, or were some of the High-Elves actually giving him smiles? He would never be quite sure since they disappeared just as soon as they had appeared. Either way, Cole made his way towards Maeron. If anything, the port would still have some of the merchants on the dock still open for trade.

The giant looking gazebo always looked beautiful no matter what time of day it was. Cole could always appreciate the inlaid gold that had been worked into the structures. He moved away from the small cluster of couples that were enjoying the peace that had once again settled over the city. It was nice to see them happy, but it only made him feel lonely. The white haired hunter shook his head to rid himself of the thoughts. Moving over to a new trader he hadn’t seen before, Cole stood before the table with a curious gaze. There were some items that he could not recognize.

Lightly he traced a fingertip along the curves of a small statuette that caught his eye. It was an intricately carved silver diamond unicorn that seemed to almost have a spark to it. Whoever the artist was, they had a talent that made the little statuette seem as if there was life to the thing. The trader had an all-knowing smile upon her older face. She picked up the statuette carefully and placed it in his deeply tanned hand. Cole glanced up at her and knew instantly that it was for him to have. Without a second thought, the hunter pulled out a few coins to place on her table in return. No words had been exchanged, but he knew that he had been meant to come across the statuette.

The acquisition had not been planned, nor necessary. Either way, he was fairly pleased with the piece. Cole smiled as he placed it in his belt pouch and thought about showing it to Nymph when he was on his next visit trip.
