Kallistrate adjusted her black hood, the damp weather made her glad she had decided to wear it, there were other reasons as well of course. She still felt out of place in her clothing a black shirt and pants along with black leather boots, chosen to allow her to blend in with the crowd. But, Kallistrate was used to silks and jewelry. However, her simply braided hair and dark bruise decorating her left cheek, it was starting to swell and rather large taking up most of her face. She had other wounds as well but this one was most notice able upon casual inspection. She took a moment to steady herself before moving down the street, her hand resting on a wall as the world spun briefly, she was aware that was not a good thing, but not all together unheard of for some on with a blow to the head. Her ribs were aching as much her head, causing breathing to be as painful as thinking was at the moment.

She did her best to move down the street as a normal person might. She was fairly certain she wasn't being followed by this point, but she wasn't entirely sure. That fact along was what kept her moving forward. There something in her favor however, most people who were out at this time of night were more wrapped in in their own affairs and it was every easy to over a lone woman in the street. For most of them at least. She was also aware those who might notice her in the middle of the night might not have her best interests in mind. Not only that they might have followed her, she was the only one who made it out as far as she knew, she was counting on herself traveling faster than news did.

Kallostrate's vision was starting to swim however, that and the nausea forming in the pit of her stomach told her she clearly needed to find a doctor/healer sooner rather than later. In some corner of her mind she hoped it was simply the lack of sleep getting to her and nothing more serious. She had fled head long for most of the night, and the lack of rest certainly wasn't going to work in her favor. Regardless of what it was that was effecting her, she stumbled for a moment before catching herself and moving forward. She didn't manage to get much further however, a life time with out much need for psychical strain was working against her, the world spun for the last time and Kallistrate spilled ungracefully forward as her vision finally faded into nothing-ness.

Once again Arannis found himself walking through the night. He cloaked himself in minor illusions to dissuade pickpockets or other nightwalkers from approaching him, and simply enjoyed the night air. He admired the gardens, and listened to the gentle sounds of the water in the canals. It was another lovely night in the city. He kept working on his internal map, his goal to be able to transport himself anywhere in the city with but a thought. He did not get lost this night, as he had on his previous venture of this sort. It was a thoroughly unremarkable night, until he saw a woman laying in the street.

Arannis was going to ignore her and move on, until he noticed her dress. She was not wearing the usual garb of a street dweller of this town, it was suspicious seeing someone such as her laying in the street in the middle of the night. Arannis could never resist a mystery such as this, and so he approached her and cast spells of healing. He stood back and waited for her to wake.

Kallistrate for her part was not entirely aware of what was going on. She had been vaguely aware of the fact she was lying in the street, one of the last things she had been aware of was the damp of the ground beneath her cheek. Not that she was in favor of lying in the street as a general rule, however in this matter she wasn't given much of a choice in the matter. So, there she lay until Arannis came upon her. Whatever spell was in use was helpful, at least enough to allow her to come to. She jerked hard, clearly not expecting any one to be standing close to her.

Rather it was the effect of the spell or the injury she had already gotten, Kallistrate was a little groggy and she shook her head in an effort to clear it. "Who are you?" She asked in her semi balled position. Clearly she was not entirely trustful for various reasons of a strange figure standing near her and seemingly staring at her. In an effort to save herself from further pain she kept herself looking as small as possible as she waited for a reply.

The woman finally awoke and asked Arannis who he was. She was immediately suspicious of him. It was sensible. If she lived a simple life she'd not be in her current predicament. However, her response to the situation she found herself in was to huddle into a ball for safety. Arranis hoped she was capable of more than that lest this just end up being a waste of time.

“My name is Arannis Falone,” Arannis began in a calm tone, “I mean you no harm.” He moved further away as he spoke to give her a more comfortable amount of space.

Altruism was hard to come by, she was right to be suspicious of his motives. Arannis himself was certainly not doing this out of some selfless drive. Knowledge was power, and so he began to inquire more about who this woman was.

“What may I call you?” Arranis asked, “How did you end up in this state?”
It was likely she would lie, but even a lie would give him more insight into the mysterious woman. Arannis hoped she did not dance around the questions for too long. The night was slowly becoming more chilly. Hopefully she would be amiable to get indoors soon, for her own sake.

Kallistrate watched him as he spoke to her. He might not have her best intentions at heart, but he had not bothered to attack her on sight , however he had not yet and this would at least give her some slight advantage. She was sylvan and thus was not without her own defenses, however, she would prefer to avoid that situation if she could help it or at least managed to have a day or two to recover and collect her thoughts. There might have been healing spells, however her mental state over the entire thing was still some what muddled and she would have to go over her own memories to have a chance to recall what happened.

"Kallistrate" She would give her name in response to his. She debated on just how much to answer of his other question. Granted, he had not harmed her yet, that did not mean he was acting out of the goodness of her of her interest. However, if she did not give at least some information then she might well be left on the side of the road and left in a worse situation than she was in now.

"People tend to be angry when they don't get enough to eat. They also tend to take it out on the easiest people to blame. It can lead to interesting situations if one is not careful as it turns out." She tried to give some information with out going into exact details.

Her response to his question was detailed enough to avoid being rude, but vague enough to avoid giving any actual information. Arannis would have smiled had the situation not still been so tense. “It is a pleasure to meet you Kallistrate.” Their voices were the only sounds in the night over the gentle sounds of the nearby canal.

As they spoke, Arannis subtly stirred the shadows around the pair. To any outside observers, Arannis and Kallistrate were standing at alert, rather that in vulnerable positions along the ground. It was a minor illusion, but such tricks went far in avoiding unwanted attention.

The night continued to chill and the usual mist thickened as Arannis offered her a hand, “Can you stand? Will you need assistance finding an inn?” The sorcerer spoke in a neutral tone, he didn’t need to try too hard for her to accept his help. She seemed to still be on her guard, but it was likely she would end up a nameless corpse in a canal without some form of assistance.

She debated on rather or not to take his offer of assistance. She was aware of the fact left on her own it would likely to end well for her. On the other hand she would be trusting some one who she had just met was a risk as well. All things considered, Kallistrate didn't really have a choice in the matter, at least not yet. She would have to hope that she wouldn't be left on the side of the road. If she did not, she would be left anyway. She was fairly sure of that. And she had yet to be assaulted or  the like, which if that were to happen there wasn't much she could do in her present condition anyway.

"I can stand just fine." Which was more or less the case, her legs hadn't been injured and although she was sore and stiff she did not wish to appear to be completely helpless that would not end well for her either. So she stood up as smoothly as she could manage. "An inn? I suppose that would be for the best, it is better then spending the evening on the side of the road, no?" She was sure most things would be better than spending the night on the side of the road. The chances of that ending well was very low.

Kallistrate seemed to debate for a bit whether or not to accept Arannis’ help. Eventually, she insisted that she could stand on her own and slowly got to her feet unaided. She seemed a bit off balance, and Arannis suppressed a smirk at her refusal of the aid. However she did accept his offer to help her navigate to an inn.

“I know of an inn that is quiet, and relatively private.” Arannis said, “It should suit your needs I’d imagine.” Unfortunately, Arannis knew of only one inn in the city. He would need to explore more, to prepare should this kind of incident arise again. The innkeeper would be happy for the business, but Arannis did like the place quiet.

Arannis moved his hand horizontally across the air, and a shimmering translucent barrier materialized. The image in the barrier slowly solidified into the view of an inn. It was as if one were standing in the street before it. It was on the edge of the water, one could even smell the sea looking at it. It was an unremarkable three story building with a sign out front proudly proclaiming, “Romane’s Inn”.

Arannis stepped into the translucent image and seemed to merge with it. He appeared within the image, standing just before the door to the inn. He gestured for Kallistrate to follow.

Still not entirely sure of where she decided to collapse Kallistrate was aware of the fact that she at the moment had one life line, so to speak to where she was. Rather or not she entirely trusted him was not the point, at least not yet. She was certain it would not end well for if she were left to her own devices, clearly she did not have much of a choice at this point. She nodded when he mentioned an inn.

"I suspect it will. Although thankfully most inn keepers who are worth their inn know how to be ..discrete when they have the need to be." She failed to mention, or if they were paid to be. At the moment however,  Kallistrate lacked the coin to bride the local inn keeper into silence, she would simply have to rely on the fact that she didn't look all that interesting to any one who might be visiting an inn. If she were lucky, she would simply look travel worn and not like some one who ran afoul of some one before hand.

She would simply have to keep an eye on the inn, if she were lucky, she could find a seat that would allow her to get a good view of the inn and the comings and goings.

Leonidas popped a giant bubble cuasing a barrel of mead to fall from it. "There you go,barkeep" the tavern owner looked annoyed and confused at first but sighed and handed Leo some silver. Little mad at first Leo took the silver and left swinging a blue and silver staff over his shoulder.

"He nerve of that guy" Leo muttered. The blue and silver staff suddenly lost it's color and turned brown with a little blue orb appearing next to Leo. He notices this and greets the orb as Acciona. The little orb seemed to speak to Leo but no noise was made.  But Leo seemed like he heard it talking.

After a while Leo got an idea. "I know. We should flood the basement."  The orb kept on speaking to Leo "I know that you can't but I can. Remember, water barf?" The orb just seemed disappointed,no one needed to understand it to see that. But Leo went on with it anyways and headed down to the tavern's basement.
