I'm hardcore and use a plain-text editor. 😎

Just note that if you end up with bugs in your code that make the post unreadable, you can contact a mod or admin for help. I've edited posts for people in the past when there are major code issues.

Mel - thanks for sharing that information… I generally use google docs, but sometimes it's a bit frustrating. :P

If I may make a suggestion. It's a temporarily solution for your problem if you like.
But try using the website called Litlift.com
It's a not an RP-site but a tool for all types of writers.
You can create character profiles (simple ones with no fancy graphics), chapters, drafts, books, etc…
There's a built in previewer and a spelling check, etc…

It's easy to use, and can also be used on mobile. I use it all the time for website where there aren't save buttons for drafts orr previewers.
AND you can save all your work and even categorize stuff to help organize your posts. :3

All good, glad to hear it's something in progress

We're in the process of trying to switch text editors for that purpose. The one we are eyeing has a built in preview button, though there are some fatal bugs that have to be corrected before it can be pushed. I don't have an ETA on it, unfortunately, but we are trying to address it.

perhaps I'm just missing it but I really did like being able to preview my post prior to setting it just so I could ensure my coding was good to go
