I meant to ask how long has it been since Karith took to the skies. Since it's been a long time ago and that the technology has been lost to time would it be safe to assume that it has been a few centuries?

Grounded? Karith is still a floating city, so not sure what you mean by that. It would have been a long time for Karith taking to the skies, since the technology for making a whole island float alchemically has been lost in lore. If by spiritual you mean dabbling in necromancy/spiritual medium stuff, that's up to interpretation. It likely wouldn't be the province of the Shen Michi Yuren, but could be tradition for parts of the city population.

Not currently sure how far back it has been since Karith has been controlled by the Shen Michi Yuren or even when it took to the skies. Would it be safe to say that it has been quite some time since Karith was grounded and more reliant on the spiritual?

It is very unlikely that Karith was ever ruled by an emperor of any sort, given the political landscape of that continent. Most cities and nations on Parvpora were established by collectives or immigrants with a common cause.

As for languages, Adelunan would depend on how far back we are talking. Adelunan would be a fairly static language, but some words would definitely change based on time. People from different eras would still be able to understand each other, but there may be certain instances of lost communication if someone isn't familiar with the language's evolution.

Karith linguistics, on the other hand, would likely be very different. Karith clans are secretive, especially those who built the city. They probably used many ciphers/code languages/differences in order to communicate with members of their own clan and eventually designed their own "common Karithean." However, the original version of that common dialect probably went through many iterations.

Just thought of another question how much has the Adeluna and Karith language changed. Would others be able to understand Lixue or would it be sort of broken as words change.

I was curious about Karith's past before it took to the skies. While speaking with Cymbell he mentioned Karith being more spiritual than sciency, which gave birth to this character. My question is before Shen Michi Yuren took to power was Karith ruled by an Emperor?
