Your silver boost was gone for reasons unknown. It's fixed now!

Author: Angela Rose, Posted: Wed Oct 21, 2015 8:44 AM, Post Subject: Hello I have questions!

there's a x3 boost to silver for the first month as well

Author: Angela Rose, Posted: Tue Oct 20, 2015 10:28 PM, Post Subject: Hello I have questions!

Its there for non magical characters :D The price of the spell + brooch and onward and so forth :)

Author: Leo, Posted: Tue Oct 20, 2015 9:46 PM, Post Subject: Hello I have questions!

Sorry for the double… I have even MOAR questions. LOL. Just gonna keep them all corralled in one place.

Spells vs. Magical Items… This is an example question, but Incognito costs 120 silver and doesn't have any limitations in its description. Changeling's Brooch is once per day for 200 silver. So what's the incentive to buy it, unless it's there for the non-magically inclined characters?

Is there any chance that eventually the posts in the forum could be arranged by newest posted, vs first posted? :3

@Jenna:

I still can't figure out the pattern yet, but here were my first three RP posts:

633 words / 2,982 characters without spaces (I don't remember but it was 100+ silver; first post bonus?)
1,831 words / 8,360 characters without spaces (journal entry – 102 silver)
934 words / 4,306 characters without spaces (52 silver)

Great! Thank you both, Lilly and Jenna :3

–Is there some sort of ratio on the silver reward from posting, or is it essentially a flat rate? Just curious because I posted two RP post of significantly different lengths, but the rewards were pretty similar.

It's a set rate, 1 silver per 100 characters if memory serves (and usually 4 to 5 characters per word on average).

–Can we perhaps make the links in our posts a little more discernible? Maybe it's just my eyes, but I can hardly tell when something's linked in the text. >.>;

It's on the list!

–On our profiles, the top (center) header says "All About {Username}", and then the bottom (left) column says, "The Real {Username}." Would it make more sense to say "All About {Character Name}" on the top header, since I think most people seem to be putting character profiles there, and their characters aren't always the same as their usernames? (Like me lol)

I'll mention this.

At the moment, because of the site launch and severe lacking in funds, the item rule is going to be glossed over a bit for a little while The blues will let us know when we have to adhere to dnd rules again, as in "if it's not in your pack, it's not usable." kind of affair.

Author: Leo, Posted: Sun Oct 18, 2015 12:20 PM, Post Subject: Hello I have questions!

Thanks so much, Brandon! That definitely helps scope my writing to what's acceptable here. The cloak's description, for example, does mention protection against the elements, but I'll try to be realistic if she scampers into any crazy blizzards anytime soon. X)

Hm, I'll take a crack at this =):

Yes, you can have your character rping in different areas at the same time. There's absolutely no problem with that.

For the item enforcement, we are relying on the writers to use their best judgment. Obviously while you might be able to fend off some of the cold weather with the cloak, the winter fur coat provides better protection and warmth. Also depends on how other variables are rped, such as the weather; if your character contending against blizzard like winds then she's better off with the latter.

If the horse just going to used for something like your example and it's briefly mentioned, then it should be okay. I would think that in that regard its considered a NPC. I would suggest to be on the safe side and buy one later down the road just in case if its a recurring thing.

Background story…with both the character profile and journal, you don't need to worry and can mention them as much as needed. As for rping, it won't really be a problem until their presence become frequent throughout threads then it might become an issue and from there you might need to either make new characters or purchase NPCs, depending on the circumstance.

As for the site questions, I'll have to get back to you about that. Perhaps it might be better for me to let one of the admins answer those.

The God-Moding and Powerplaying Guide is very helpful, thanks Jenna! I think I am coming up with situational-dependent questions as I go along, so they may be too specific to inspire an FAQ. However, I'm going to ask just in case:

–Is there a rule about being multiple places at once? Can I simultaneously have my character RPing at the Winking Mermaid and in the Jasumin Plains, for example?
–How strict is the item enforcement going to be in the future (I know right now is a grace period as things are set up); for example, if I buy a regular cloak for Núria to run around in, but then I mention it's warm enough to withstand a winter chill, does that mean I now need to buy the winter fur coat too, or do I have wiggle room to deem my cloak all-weather (within reason – she can still shiver, just not freeze to death)?
–On a related note, if I want to rent a horse from a tavern stable (or something) to ride to the next town in a post, do I need the horse for just one post (I'm not claiming ownership or anything)? Or do I treat it like an NPC?
–If I have NPCs in my character's backstory, how much mileage can I get out of them before someone throws a flag on the play? XD

Also, I have a couple of site-related questions…
–Is there some sort of ratio on the silver reward from posting, or is it essentially a flat rate? Just curious because I posted two RP post of significantly different lengths, but the rewards were pretty similar.
–Can we perhaps make the links in our posts a little more discernible? Maybe it's just my eyes, but I can hardly tell when something's linked in the text. >.>;

A character creation FAQ is definitely something I want to add. What do you think would be useful information? We have a god-moding and power-playing guide, does that explain power limits sufficiently?

Author: Leo, Posted: Sun Oct 18, 2015 6:42 AM, Post Subject: Hello I have questions!

Thank you ladies both so much! ^_^ Yes, this was very helpful. As I mentioned to Brittlez last night in the chat, "I have a fireball now Revaliir, hear me roar!" Mwahahaha.

The site is SO shiny and new, I think it still has the protective shrinkwrap plastic on it. O_O So I will try to be patient with all my questions, haha. I have lots of ideas too so far but I think you guys probably have a lot of them on some lengthy to-do list somewhere XD

Author: Nymeria, Posted: Sun Oct 18, 2015 4:00 AM, Post Subject: Hello I have questions!

-Waves- HI, I was an avatar, am now a god, and i'm trying to shake that mentality :D Weird for me. Anyway, prior site, like our lovely explained here, some of us oldies shifted over and that's the references you're getting. My journal touches on it, but the idea is moving onward. We're just trying to get settled :) I'm not "in the thick of it" Like Britt up there is, so if you have any RP Q's let me, or any of the cohorts, know and we can lend a hand so the blue's can get Rev up and running how she should be. -pets code- gooood code, good.

Author: Angela Rose, Posted: Sat Oct 17, 2015 9:54 PM, Post Subject: Hello I have questions!

2 of the Deities on the site were Avatars from DaeLuin. Where here an Avatar is a person the God is projecting onto. Like Foxglove to my Angela. Foxglove is Angela's eyes and ears when she is busy but she is Mortal.

The Triune are the last 3 from the major fall here in Revaliir. They can speak to the voice as well as in some context connected to each other more entwined then the rest of the conclave. I wouldn't think you would have to treat them differently. Really we're just IC Admins but with a twist. :) If that helps.

As for the DL -scrubs its on the wiki with help- It might have been overlooked when we were using place holders.

I would recommend the mage for you :)

Pretty much a short explanation. Timedeath and the void event on DL happened at the same time. When this happened people and mindsets crossed over. Like the Angela from DL fused with the Angela from Revaliir. Certain characters fell through the void/time portals into Revaliir. A page might have to be written up still about this.

Author: Leo, Posted: Sat Oct 17, 2015 6:52 PM, Post Subject: Hello I have questions!

Hi :)

So I'm new, obvi. Lovely site! I was wondering a couple of things:

–Limits on our characters' powers? Is there like a character creation FAQ that would help us understand what we should and shouldn't be able to do in character? I tried to dig around in the wiki but couldn't find anything specific. I'd like my character to be a Psychopomp, but if having some sort of abilities pertaining to shuttling between life and death is gonna step on the toes of whatever deity is in charge of those, that presents a problem. I'd like to know before I spend awhile on building a profile.
–What's in the newbie packs? If my character is a rogue/mage, which one do you recommend? I guess I'm torn between Warrior and Mage…
–"God's secondary characters can be avatars." (From the Deity Rules page) So at least two of the deities refer to themselves as an avatar, but gods can also have non-powerful avatars? How do we know the meaning of the word "avatar" (with the exception of context), then?
–What's the difference between a Triune and a Deity? Are they considered "higher powered" deities because they can talk to the Voice? What's the difference in their powers and how they show up in-character? Do we, the normal folks, treat them differently than a "normal" deity?
–With the exception of the description on each area's forum, is there an overall world FAQ/info page? Background/lore? A lot of the deities seem to be talking about some sort of transition/fall/portal from somewhere else? I've only been able to find this page so far.

A lot of this seems pretty similar to DaeLuin (coughcough one of the wiki pages still has DaeLuin names on it), so I'm just going forward assuming the rules are similar, does that work? XD Lol.

(EDIT: I found two more wiki pages that help a bit with my lore/background questions)

Thanks, sorry for all the newb questions ^^;
