Nope, no horseback. Face to face action is their style. :P
Thanks guys! :D

Go with a falchion, probably. A scimitar would work if you wanted a longer blade or a cavalry sword. Falchions, however, are a bit shorter, some even a bit knife-like (more reminiscent of bronze age blades like the kopesh). Interesting note, though, is that the name "falchion" is derived from the Latin for "sickle", and the kopesh is described as a sickle blade, which would suggest to me that they evolved in similar ways.

So, falchion would be the closest, IMO, unless you were looking for something longer that would be effective from horseback.

Meh, the Kopesh isn't really about being fancy. It's a weapon that both Nihr and Ramla have used before back when they were on Earth. They waged wars with that weapon and have a better grasp over it than other swords. For them it's about what's practical and what's familiar. :3

I'm actually keen to agree with you on that!  But I should consult our resident weapon expert to be sure…

The Falchion has a closer description to the Kopesh so I'll go with that one.
I don't think a Kopesh would be an exotic blade though in Revaliir? I think cultures inspired by the Egyptian/Arabian culture might use them?

Maybe go with a Falchion if you don't want to go exotic. I would say the Scimitar if you want exotic though.

I was wondering what kind of sword would be a good sub for a Kopesh weapon?
A Kopesh is a curved, Egyptian sword.

I could've sworn I saw one in the stores before but I guess I mistook it with something I saw on Pinterest. x-x
