The day has finally come, Abed waits all year long to have their biggest festival. It is called The Festival of Colors and only occurs near the end of summer. There is lots of dancing, curry tasting, art competitions, color rain pit*, and… less savory activity beneath all the happiness. The Festival of Colors is also a festival of free love. It is the one time of the year that wars and rampages stop to give love and respect to everyone, however, there are those in the deepest shadows of Abed that do not abide by these rules.
*The color rain pit is where people group up to sling the colored sand at each other! This is the true heart of the festival where fun is to be had.
The Art Competition:This will be a writing competition with 3 judges. You will be telling us a story using the colors of the Abedian palette. Yes, you will be describing a story through art in writing. We’ll be judging it on your creativity with the colors, magic, and whatever else you have to offer us. This isn’t a story of dialogue but more so the portrait your character paints for us.

Judges get the Abedian Color for participation. You will only have one chance at entering but you can do so with multiple characters. This is a one post contest (Dazzle us!) there is no word limit but do know if you drag on and bore us, it does affect your score.
The winner of this contest gets not only 1,000 silver but also a spotlight with their post on our Twitter and Tumblr courtesy of Anton(Naota). If there is a tie or multiple people get the same score we’ll dish out the 1,000 to everyone who wins first place. You will also get a cool button made by Angela Rose that says you won!
The Murder Mystery:Beneath all the happiness we did say that danger is afoot! Bodies have begun to appear in alleyways and more people have been disappearing as they enjoy the intoxicating curry with its strange effects. Guards believe that the cult is involved but with no solid proof it is hard to press charges or execute those involved. Follow the clues we lay out and discover the end of this bloody tale. All participants will get rewards for reaching the end of this murderous tale!
Rules on Clues: You can do 1-5 in any order but you must do them before you can move on to 6. You can do any number of clues in your post. You could even write out all the way up to the lantern but you must do at least two posts since one is obtaining the lantern. This is going to be treated as DnD, you yourself know the outcome of this event but your character does not. This means no METAGAMING! I will release the conclusion of the event on the 5th of September.
Clues:
1. Bodies have been appearing in the alleyway. Guards suggest you start there.
2. There have been rumors of the curry being used as a lure to get people alone.
3. People have spotted strangers in black moving about the crowd near the bards. Could this be your killer?
4. There has been an insignia left by the palace, perhaps ask around about it?
5. You hear rumors that one of the ingredients for the hypnotic curry is used as bait, go check out the vendors and see what you learn about it.
6. You find an entrance underground thanks to following a victim… Where does it go? (Only proceed after you complete 1-5)
7. In the underground catacombs you find an altar for
Aegir with a fresh blood trail. Do you follow it deeper into the underground?
8. The catacombs get too dark and an old man pulls you off your path. He tells you it’s too dangerous to proceed in the dark and gifts you a lantern with the symbol for Lucina on it. Are the old Gods tied into this? (The darkness is magical and even better senses can’t see through it. You need the lantern to proceed. Contact Admins when you reach this far for the item.)
You are able to use the lantern to illuminate the area. Unfortunately this attracts a crazed cultist. You are left with two options kill them outright or interrogate them! Proceed to 10A if you interrogate them. If you don’t proceed to 10B.
10 A. You come into a room with a bunch of cultists with a victim bound up. There are mummified remains of three corpses on the side of the room. The cultists are chanting for life to be returned to them, are they the old gods?
10B. You find another cultist not far but she is shivering from your execution of her friend. She quietly gives up the information of what’s going on in the next room. She tells you the cult is trying to resurrect their fallen gods:
Malach, Concordia, and Aegir. She has a bad feeling about the ritual and flees before you can ask more questions.
Final Area: In the final room, there are many sacrifice victims lined up. There are three different pools being filled with blood to put the mummified bodies into. However, you still don’t know if the bodies are that of the Fallen Gods. Remember that the gods mysteriously vanished when the Parvpora tree fell so there is a chance all the killings were for nothing. Three high priests, for each of the gods, are up on pedestals preaching out the evil of the gods. These three gods were the worst of the worst. They killed many and destroyed much of Parvpora effectively shaping the continent that we know today.
However, what the cultist neglected to tell you is that the three bodies when brought back are going to be used to materialize their Trickster God Reyansh. Using a prophecy that might not even work, Reyansh is a trickster, they continue to sacrifice in hopes that he is not leading his own followers astray. The true evil of the Parvpora gods is at work. Will you burn down everything they are doing or sneak out and tell the guards what you found? (You can have your character learn this by listening to the high priests)
If you burn down everything in the room, you find out that the bodies are not that of the gods, the spirits of past priests come out to tell you so. They try to bribe you into punishing the cultists who failed their gods.
Alternatively, you can leave and hope they don’t kill the victims so you can get the guards.
Route 1: If you punish the cultists know you are not stopping all of them, you are just delaying the inevitable but it will be fun to kill them right?
Alternate Route 1: The guards listen to you and determine this is a matter for the king. When they go to storm the cultist’s catacombs they find them locked with screams of the victims filling the tunnel exits. There is nothing more you can do but wait to see the outcome. Three tricksters, high ranking trolls of
Reyansh, break out of the catacombs and cause trouble for all of the cultists wandering the streets. Divine justice or just the god being a jerk? You may never know.
