A group of people were occupying a small hill at the edge of the forest. The evening was cold, the charms that hung on trees were humming softly. Dancing lights fluttered about, trying to lure anyone to act their vengeance upon. One person was taking notes; scribbling on the paper while Nihr told her what to write. Two others busying themselves with preparing the picnic area, a table with a buffet of all sorts of food. The area decorated with hanging lanterns straight from Ataiyo, a couple of blankets to wrap around yourself if one got chilly. And yet another person was setting up the telescope to aim at Kurayo. Nihr was standing a bit further ahead, gazing down at the city. Humming to himself with hands clasped behind his back as he waited for the preparations to be done.

Despite the doom and gloom vibe this city gave off with its 'get-off-our-island-strangers-or-I'll-slit-your-throat' treatment, for those with a soft spot of the macabre this was actually a lovely place to live in. And with the darkness shrouding the island, it was just like home. "Everything is set, Master." One of the servants spoke. Nihr continued to hum as he nodded at her before taking another glance at Kurayo. Tuning into the shadows that were spread about Kurayo, he searched for a target. The servants were used to his hobby now. But now it was pretty much routine, when night fell the telescope goes up the hill as does the picnic table and the blankets. Odder yet although they never complained, the servants were always allowed to eat and use the blankets for themselves because Nihr would never touch it. He would just be plastered behind that scope and watch people.

His humming stopped when he found them. Quite a pair they were, one a familiar face and the other the daughter of a deity. Perhaps Ramla did well to keep Holly close to them. He turned around and aimed the telescope around until he found them again and then simply watched. He tuned out of the shadows, preferring the element of surprise and try to guess what the two were up to. It keeps the mind sharp!

"Subjects are male and female, let's call them…ehm." He stood straight while he pondered. His eyes grew bright and he grinned, "Let's call them Brandon and Brittany." he said as his eye took its place against the scope.

After watching the pair head for the abandoned section of Kurayo (more like wrecked) he quickly understood the situation. It's not everyday where 'tourists' decide to visit an area that's dark and secluded and just screams ambush when you're on an island that already despises your very scent… Hunters. Nihr had heard about the rumors of vampires who were nothing but trouble. The peace here is fragile though, the citizens can't just turn on their own kin like that. "So they brought in hunters, did they now? This is going to be interesting." He said with a smirk.

The pair had just entered the ruins, the girl seemed to go ahead without him. Nihr sighed, "Only a woman would think she can handle a situation on her own…" And right on cue an explosion happened. "Ooooh." He said with excitement as he looked up from the telescope to see if he could spot the attack from afar before returning. "Down the dead zone they go." he said with a crooked grin. He looked through the telescope again but alas they were underground. In a dead zone. So even if he wanted to he couldn't access his powers there, not even for distant viewing.  So he took a chair and a snack and waited.

Nihr was staring at the stars with a plate of biscuits in his lap, munching on them as he waited for any change near that abandoned district. And that's when he felt it, Holly's signature. No similar signature….MOM! He jumped off his seat, dropping the plate and biscuits onto the grass and clung to the telescope again as he watched the paladins storm the district. Paladins… Nihr's hatred for Paladins and 'followers' of the Light' (or any other divine creature that demanded Blind Faith) ran deeper than the roots of the World Tree. He stayed there in silence and observed the Goddess and her army of shiny knights.

"Hmm…So Angela knows how not to rely on magic to survive. A warrior, hah…Ramla's going to have a field day." He snickered to himself. He knew how jealous the woman was of her but he also knew that she would appreciate a woman who knows how to fight with the sword. They may or may not realize it….or be in complete denial. But these two look more like one another than they think. Humble beginnings, survivors, fighters for 'the greater good'. "They surpassed themselves, one thanks to a Tree and one thanks to Me!" He laughed as he retreated from the telescope. Moving away and closer to the edge of the hill to admire the city.

"And I know exactly where to hit them to break them…" his voice darkened….
