Akira was most curious by nature. While the people of Sularia were supremely nice and took care of her every need, the fox still found a nose for trouble. It was the promise of riches that peaked her interest. Gems and jewels, precious metals, everything an adventurer might want to line their pockets. The fox was not an adventurer, she wasn't even old enough to truly be on her own. But the shiny!

So the white and silver fox had managed to sneak in their boat and travel behind softly, following them. For the most part, she had been successful in staying undetected. The entrance they had chosen seemed to be a major crack in the earth, opening wide enough for men to enter single file. The raiding party had made it there by nightfall, and wanted to rest. So they made camp.

Quiet as a mouse, Akira waited for them to crash for the night. When they did, she slipped inside with ease. Each soft footstep seemed to echo ten times louder. Her ears quivered as the darkness quickly swallowed her. While she didn't mind the darkness of the night, even on the new moon nights, this was a completely different void. It ate the light, she couldn't see two inches in front of her.

A tiny hand trailed against the wall, fear beginning to swell in her tiny chest as her heart beat harder against its cage. Why did she come here again? The sound of something leathery slapping the air above her, screeching made the fox scream and run deeper into the caves, heedless of the excess danger she called to herself as she had now lost all sense of direction.

It was dark and there was a very small narrow space to walk and she saw something brownish and very small so she yelled and said "anyone there" and she did not get any response so she kept going closer to the fox.

Blind, darkness ate the light. Lost. Scared! Why oh why did she think this was a good idea? Soon enough, she tripped over an invisible bump, and Akira sprawled forward. Tears welled up in her golden orbs as she picked herself up and thrust her hand against the wall. Running became her only answer until…

She didn't care that her hands were rubbed raw from the cavern walls. All Akira knew is the wall ended quite suddenly. It turned! Carefully feeling her way in, yet still in a panic, Akira pushed her way into a small space. Deeper, deeper. Something was behind her now, she could hear the footsteps, tiny pebbles dislodged from their resting spot. Run, hide.

Then the words came, booming in the silent void around her, mingling with the sound of her own breathing. Anyone there? Me… Safe? Is this woman safe? Akira stopped, and peered into the space behind her. At some point, she realized her eyes had adjusted somewhat to the utter curtain, and could see a vague shape of a woman. Or at least, someone much older than herself.

"Who you?" she whispered, afraid that this woman, or what she hoped was a woman, would be more harm than good.
