Heracles walks nearer to the woman on the beast. Heracles extends his long arm, his hand comes out of the cloak revealing to be clawed and hairy like a beast of sorts. "My name is Heracles Barog." He noticed how the beast was rather uncomfortable with his presence, maybe the woman couldn't see what matter of being he was but clearly the hippogryphon could smell nothing but wet dog right now. 


"Are you sure your beast is ok with me riding on its back?" Heracles asked, he wasn't very trusting of it. He had ridden many wargs in his time but they where used to his kind and usually built a bond of sorts with their owner.

Pursing her lips thoughtfully, the woman stared him down with a gaze as hard as enchanted iron. After a soft chuckling laugh, she bows her head," Very well, very well-" allowing her gaze to drift to the creature's burning embers of eyes, she extends a hand, leaning down from the massive armored beast,"- my name is Major Hakon Kilandre-Alveron, you are free to call me Major though. What is your name, if I may?"

As she leaned down, the great feathered and hooved beast stared down at him untrustingly, arching its neck whilst bristling its feathered 'mane'.

Heracles stood still motionless, his features completely concealed by the cloak and hood, he was a tall dark figure, with only his deep set yellow eyes like flames staring at the knight. He was suprised to see that who stood before him was no lad but rather a woman, not too young nor too old. "Pardon me lass… I am still getting use to telling humans apart… in all honesty you all look the same to me." Heracles said with utmost honesty.
"Now you must pardon me once more… for I usually don't do this. Normally I would point you to the direction you must go but I will instead lead ye to the city personally instead… mostly because ye happen to be in a dangerous area and as you can see the the sun is close to the west." Heracles said, and indeed the sun wasn't setting but it was past midday around six o'clock and soon the light would wane and strange creatures would begin to emerge from their deep dens to prey on unwary travelers. Plus Heracles would probably get paid for doing the services.

The rider pauses, slowly putting down their map and looking toward Heracles, the massive beast turning to start the bugbear down as well. There was a moment of long, tentative silence before the rider reached up and removed the winged helm- long blonde-white hair falling free as Hakon stared down Heracles with a look of a veteran quite unwilling to deal with more nonsense in this life," Greetings, sirrah- as you can see more clearly now I am no mere 'lad'." She pauses, allowing her harsh tone to sink into the furred creature before tilting her head curiously," I am a bit turned around- you wouldn't happen to know the way to the nearest city, would you?" she inquires.

A shadow covered the sun briefly, Heracles looked up only to see what he thought to be a giant bird and instinctively hid under a nearby overhang. He crouched hidding behind a piece of wall and peeked to look at what was going on, the light of the sun gleamed off the knightly figures shiny armor and behind them there was a large bird like beast saddled and all. Who was this? Some adventurer of sorts? 
Suddenly a something sparked inside Heracles. An adventurer? Maybe this was his chance to offer his services. Without thinking twice he go up and slowly walked to the head and stood on it, he didn't want to get too close he didn't know the clear intentions of this person. "Aye lad! Ye lost?" Heracles asked, he looked like some dark sentinel of the ruins, in a dark hood with his yellow eyes peaking through like to kindled flames.

As on queue of the bugbear's wistful wonderings, a large shape wheeled over head, briefly blocking out the sun before flashing with metallic light. In an instant, one could mistake the sight for a giant eagle- but upon closer examination- a squint of the eyes and slight lean forward. One could make out it was silvery-armored hippogryph with a rider atop, great brindled wings stretched wide as it rode the gentle breeze of the valley. Perhaps the bugbear could smell sweat, steel and feathers from this particular pair and yet… The armored duo drifted closer to him, closer to the earth- alighting upon the grass at a full gallop, slowing to a lope, a trot- then to a slow walk as the beast folded its great wingspan against its flank.

The rider idly took a map from leather saddlebags strapped across the beast's hindquarters. Hakon chewed her lip beneath her helm as she unfolded the map, reading it over- her armored finger idly tracing over the grid as she cursed under her breath. Quite lost. Very, very lost. That was their current status. Ah- Elenoir would have an earful for her, and Gods knew if that recruit in the next city over would still be around by the time she arrived. Nonetheless… The Veteran knight seemed quite oblivious in the moment to the bipedal creature watching from not too far away…

Heracles scaled the side of a hill, he no longer had his straw hat and scarf he replaced them with a simple black cloak that concealed what he looked like. Heracles came upon a stone head half buried in the dirt and climbed on top to rest, he was not far from his Clan, in fact he could see the cavernous hole only fifty feet away which lead into the dungeon of an old castle in there rested his entire Clan his father was still there probably in a corner disappointed with his son's choices. 

Heracles came untop the head to reflect often… he had done it even from an early age back when he trained to become the Warlord everyone wished him to be. Recently he hadn't had much luck finding jobs and he was beginning to doubt his course of action. He stared down at the grass as it got blown lightly by the breeze, a smell of moss and old came to his nose… it was a strange smell that old smell… it was that same smell that hit you when you entered an antique store or when you entered the house of an old individual who had never moved their furniture one inch. 


Times like these made him truely wonder if what he fought for was truely worthwhile… this place must of been part of some great empire of old… probably really strong! But alas it fell into ruins and now houses his kind and other more miserable creatures… the undesirables of society… if this was nature then him and his kind and any other creature dwelling here was like a maggot living in the carcass of a great beast. Heracles sighed and plucked a small daisy… nature was truely quick at reclaiming what was rightfully hers.
