Hidden off in the mountains to the north of the city of Adeluna, the remnants of a civilization lost to time languish. Flowing ivy hangs upon the crumbling infrastructure that dots the mountain range: a pastoral mask to an otherwise haunting edifice.

Above the surface, everything about these ruins seems peaceful: a picturesque landscape suitable for picnics. Many people in the past have given their hearts to their loved ones in this place: usually on the same spot as a Prince of Adeluna once did. The trees growing into the structures make everything look like a contest between nature and civilization: beautiful and serene.

But beneath the green surface of foliage lies a much more sinister truth. Deep within the Ancense Ruins are tunnels filled to the brim with danger and treasure. Adventurers have travelled from all over Revaliir to try and find the long lost secrets and riches of the kingdom that came before Adeluna. Light is stricken from these catacombs, however, even from torches brought from outside. The only type of illumination that can survive in these tunnels is magical; and, even if you light your path, you’ll have to take care not to get lost in the maze. This place is a hotspot for dumping bodies because of the darkness, and also because of the creatures that are all too happy to gobble up the dead. Numerous ghost stories abound, even if few have lived to tell the tale.
