The dawn was just breaking when Amé and her small band of ragtag mercenaries finally left the warehouse they had been hired to clean out. It had been dark and just before midnight when they'd entered the place but the trouble that had awaited inside had been more of an infestation than she thought it was going to be given the small amount of coin she had been given for the job.

As they walked out into the already busy docks the Halfling at Amé's side smiled and looked up.

Alright, Boss, we're gonna go clean up, drink then sleep it all off. You get the pay and we'll meet you at some point along the way like we always do!

"Yeah I'll deal with the pay and probably stick out here for a bit. I'm never in the mood to drink and sleep after something like this."

But of course they all knew that which was why Girona suggested such a thing. Amé waited for them all to head off towards The Mermaid before she headed off to the nearest pier to watch the fishermen go to work.

It always fascinated her how early some people got up to start their day. And for very little coin too. Human life was so short and busy. The peasants in particular always seemed to be using every single hour of their life. Did they ever stop and reflect on their lives? Did they even have time?

The rising sun reflected nicely on the clear blue sea which rippled with the movement of the boats and ships. This was where she felt completely at peace.

Or it used to be. These days, something inside her would break that peace and beg to find the nearest group of trees. Why she could not be sure. Perhaps a memory was trying to pop out from before her accident? She was very clearly a barbarian in stature perhaps it was a feeling from that?

It was no use, she had to stand and leave her moment of Zen. That niggling feeling would not go away so perhaps a walk through the city itself might calm her nerves. 

It is very odd to see Silanus in a city, he usually stays in the wilderness, when he can do as he pleases. However, this particular day the psychotic man decided that a short walk inside this city would suit him just fine. Why? To buy some bread…. Silanus mostly eats what he hunts, but a strange need of bread got him… He had already bought and eaten it, but explore this place full of people can be a good way to entretain himself…

As the paranoic man walked, he began to feel more and more nervous; there were so many people there! Could one of those be interested in attacking him? Or worse, could they be one of those valkyries that… That stalk him? Silanus has killed dozens, if not, hundreds of men, women and sometimes even children… Maybe someone wants revenge for their loss? Who knows…

Few days ago, Silanus raided a small school of restoration magic, deep in the wilds… He murdered many novice mages, scholars and initiates and then burn the school… They did not give much of a fight, since restoration magic consists mostly in healing, not killing… But, someone survived, a youngling who got both parents killed by Silanus, and she wanted revenge so the boy hired two professional assassins to take care of Silanus… As Silanus walked around, the sneaky killers stalked him, waiting for the perfect moment to stab him in the back, apparently. 

While being followed, Silanus walked towards the mercenary Amé, and asked her: "Poor Silanus has a rat friend, named Squaget, and poor rat is hungry. Do you know a place Silanus could buy rat food?"

Amé apparently hadn't been paying much attention. Perhaps the calming effect was actually working? Whatever the case, the sound of a man's voice made her jump though as he continued to speak, she got her bearings. 

"A rat?" She blurted out in confusion while she waited for her mind to catch up and process what was actually being said. Okay now that was an interesting question to ask someone. Was it some sort of code? Her gaze shifted from the man to the surroundings behind him. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary at all so she frowned and actually considered the question.

"There isn't many who trade in animal feed around here from what I can see." She looked around a moment as if trying to confirm that. "But since we're talking about rats, that's not a problem. They eat similarly to us, do they not?"

She then rummaged around in her pack until she found a small pouch full of nuts and dried fruit she had collected herself from the forest. It was one of the new things she found herself doing every now and then instead of buying stuff like a normal person.

"Will this do? I picked it all myself but I don't actually enjoy eating it. Someone might as well instead."

Silanus looked at tje nuts and dried fruit Amé offered to him, however, his rat did not just look, it tried to quickly jump to the mercenary´s hands and eat the fruit, but the unlucky rat did not jump far enough to reach them, so it fell… Galea Squaget was the complete name of this rat, it was somehow a "friend" for Silanus, more than a pet, since all the other people he usually enjoyed being with were far away. The madman looked how the rat fell and said: "No, Galea! Ugh you rat alwa…" Silanus could not even finish speaking before an assassin came from the shadows and quickly ran to stab the target´s neck. Apparently, this killer was a female forest elf, a very young one. While running towards Silanus, the elf was screaming: "Die you misserable!" She stabbed Silanus´back, instead of his neck, and her dull, old iron knife broke when crashing against the strong stell of Silanus´armor…

Of course, it is not a very nice thing to see how some random fool wants to stab you in the back; this elf´s actions angered Silanus. With a swift movement he hit the assassin´s nose with his elbow and said: "Don´t you see Silanus is talking, you damned idiot? Can´t Silanus have atleast ONE day without having problems?!?" Silanus did a fast spin and slashed the murderer´s leg, cutting it completely, when the unfortunate elf fell to the ground Silanus stabbed her in the eye, thus causing an immediate death. Many people began to scream in fear when they saw how the outraged man killed her.

Two town guards raised their halberts and ran to see what happened there, that was before an electromancer shot a deadly bolt towards them, one of them died and the other one was just wounded, laying in the ground… Apparently, this electromancer was the other assassin´s companion, but that was not the only surprise… Three more murderers jumped to the field, one of them was a male dark skinned human archer, the other one was a female orc barbarian and the third one was a male humanoid reptilian creature, who had two short axes in his hands. Also, the electromancer was a male moon elf… Now, there were four assassins there, ready to attemp on Silanus´life.

Silanus raised his shield in a defensive way and said to Amé: "Silanus is willing to pay if you help him against those good-for-nothing wretches, 200 silver coins! Deal!?"
