Running her thumb along Dala's wrist as she examined the burns more. By the look of it they and pattern it was most likely frictions burns. Looking into Dala's eyes as she explained that the burns were a reminder of the past. nodding slightly from the young girl's words as she herself still wore her robes to remind her of the past as well. Releasing her grip on Dala's wrist as Dala did not seem to wish to talk about the past. Pulling the sleeve back down and doing her best to try and smooth out the wrinkles from Dala's entanglement with it, Lixue would step back with a small smile as she viewed the dress and the wearer as a whole, especially with Dala's golden hair. Nodding once again as her student looked quite presentable now.
Picking up the tunic and brush off the dust before folding it. "
I know these are quite old and run down, but this would be perfect for training later so you don't have to ruin your new clothes". Of course, she would buy her student proper travelling clothes, but when the run combat drills it would be nice to have something to use without worrying ruining. "
What do you think"? As she turned to Dala she seemed as if she had something she wished to say, but not wanting to say it either within the orphanage or her impatience nature wanted to move on while speaking. Looking inquisitively at her student how started to already rebel by leaving without her teacher. "
Dala? Where are you going"? Feeling as if her first student might be more than she can handle, Lixue followed after her to see what she was doing.
Catching up to Dala, she suddenly looked back at her with an unexpected goal. Unsure of what to make of her student's words as she had just agreed to study magic now she wants to be royalty on top of it. While one can pursue one than one goal, unfortunately for Dala princesses are not made they are born. Though the girl did seem passionate about princesses by how she excitedly mistook Lixue for one, the priestess wondered on the why of the matter. Lixue's thirst for the reason would be quenched as Dala continued on about how she wanted to be a benevolent ruler. Unsure as to where Dala heard that princesses lead, but the title was irreverent if the young girl was going to start her own kingdom. Cao liked the idea, as there were plenty of people in need of help and just like her student she had promised to help others. Looking to Dala with a respect as not many would wish to help others given what the world has done to her. "
That's a very commendable goal, however, such a thing is quite the undertaking, not something that can be achieved as you are now. Even so as your teacher it is my duty to help my student reach their goals so, for now, focus on improving yourself to where your goals can be achieved". Continuing to focus on her student the Undead wondered on what the future held for her student and if her wish to help her fellow countrymen could coincide with creating a kingdom to where anyone even something like herself could be accepted.

"What?! I was only taking off my tunic." Dala said, "I know better than to take off my trousers in public!"
Finally, she was free from the trap known as a dress. The dress itself fit, although it was wrinkled from the commotion. She liked the blue color as it reminded her of the sky. The sky was cool. There were dragons in the sky. Some dragons were blue. Therefore the color blue was cool too. Dala looked up to Cao and noticed the concern that her new teacher held. Great. More questions. And it was about the burn marks around her wrists. Burn marks that were made by the chains of the past. However, Cao didn't ask how they came to be and instead asked why she didn't request for healing.
"These are mine." Dala said looking down at her wrists, "They're the one thing that the world is unable to take away. Reminders. I'm not gonna forget the past."
The child looked up to Cao, wondering if it would be wise to explain her goals for the future. She didn't know how the teacher would react. Would she laugh? Would she call it stupid? Then again, her ideals being ridiculed was nothing new. Dala decided that if they were to talk, they might as well go to the hotel while they walked. There was no point in just standing around. She began to head towards the hotel.
"I'm gonna be a powerful princess one day." Dala explained with passionate eyes, "I will rise up and become a leader. A leader has the power to help people. To bring them to a new state of living. I'm going to provide homes, food, and comfort for those that need it the most. Their gender won't matter. Their race won't matter. I don't care if they are orcs or lycans. All that matters is making a place where people can live better lives. A chance for those who were born without chances."
Her eyes were full of passion for her goals. It was though she was set aflame with the strong desire to help people. The desire was infectious and filled with a strength that couldn't be matched by sadness or hatred.
"Thats why I can't let these scars fade." She explained, "Not until I've achieved my goals in life. I can't let myself forget what it was like. I can't let myself fall into the pit of apathy that I've seen from many others."

As Cao held out Dala's gift she was unsure whether to be annoyed or concerned by the blase agreement to an eternity of dedication. The Priestess would have expected at least some hesitation at the thought of taking on a never ending quest that was the art of magic.
Perhaps I'm being too kind… Am I reassuring her too much that the dangers of magic seem irrelevant? As Lixue thought on how harsh she should be on Dala, the rest of her focus was intently on the gift hoping that Harvey had a better understanding of current fashion than herself.
Following every tear of the packaging that Dala made as it soon revealed it's contents and an excited Dala. Far too excited for Lixue as the young girl was already undressing herself to try on her new dress. "
Not use to dresses is not the issue, a young girl should not be undressing in public". Deciding to leave the scolding for later as the rest of the day was supposed to be a positive turning point in Dala's life. Making her way over to the tangled mess of cloth and human, "
Hold still I'll sort this out". Gently taking hold of Dala's arm Lixue would feel odd markings and abrasions on the girl's arm. Holding her curiosity at bay she would extract Dala's arms from the incorrect exits and turning the dress around before correctly pulling the dress past Dala's head.
Assisting Dala with putting her hands through the sleeves, Lixue would kneel down and tie the sash leaving a little bow with a slight excess of string tapering towards the ground. "
There, the dress fits very well considering it was off the shelf". Standing back up and walking around to face Dala, the Priestess would smooth out the sleeves then roll one up, revealing the burn mark around Dala's wrist. Looking to Dala with concern as smouldering anger formed at the pit of her stomach as the Priestess cursed whomever would do such a thing to a child. "
While I was healing the other children, why did you not join them? I would have healed these scars along with the others. Were you concerned about what I might do to your friends and want to be at the ready just in case"?

"Okay." Dala agreed to the deal.
If what Cao said was accurate, then Dala had some sort of magic. Magic was dangerous if not controlled well. This was something that the child had learned from other people a long long time ago. Her mind was already trying to figure out what future lessons that she might be taught. Perhaps something related to the naturalness of magic? Or maybe they would start with physical training to prepare for magic? Or maybe they would sit under a cold waterfall for a long period of time? Instead, Cao held out a package to the child. Dala's eyes grew wide with surprise as she hadn't been expecting anything like that.
Taking the package, she tore off the wrappings and opened it. Inside was a simple blue dress with a sash through the middle. There were also some white logn socks and a matching pair of blue shoes. New clothes! Dala was getting tired of her old ones, and this would make her look sorta like a powerful princess. She gave Cao a small smile, allowing her a few moments of genuine happiness.
"Thanks. I've been needing some new clothes." Dala said.
Carefully she placed the opened package on the ground, trying not to let it touch the dirty ground. Then she reached for her tunic and yanked it over her head. Reaching for the dress, she lifted the skirt part over her head and tried to worm her way into the sleeves and the head part of the dress. The child ended up getting stuck. Her right arm was where her left arm should have been and her left elbow was where the head was supposed to go.
"Uh, little help?" The child called out to Cao, "I'm not used to dresses."

Finding the humour and how their roles had reversed from their first encounter. However, seeing how serious the girl seemed to be about the request made Lixue internalize her assumption as she smiled at her possible apprentice. While she did not like the idea of a child travelling around with her as the Undead did not live the safest of lives. Yet Whoozy’s words popped into her mind noting that despite her age Dala was quite adept in dangerous situations.
Fighting with her conscious about taking a young girl into a dangerous situation with the possibility of mentoring a future hero, clashed in the Priestess mind as she did not want to force her through such trials she herself had to endure. Although she did wish to help the girl, and with such magic similarities who better to teach her and look after her than herself?
“
The only thing you shall owe is to the pursuit of magic, the cost of which is lifetimes of dedication. I will do my best to help guide you through your journey into magic, but I can only do so much as in the end, it is up to you how far you will go”. While she still had reservations about taking the girl with her, she could always direct her to another more experienced teacher if her own ability was lacking. Even if this is not exactly what she had planned, she could not say that it was an undesirable outcome as Lixue had done exactly what she had wanted, the Undead did not expect that it would be her who would be the girl’s mentor and caregiver.
Retrieving the package that housed her gift to Dala. “
I still promised you food, but since we are now teacher and student how about we make a celebration of your first steps into magic”. Handing the package to Dala that housed a simple blue dress with a sash through the middle with long white socks and matching navy blue shoes with nickel belting. “
I was planning on leaving this with you, but since we are going to be travelling together I thought it would be a good idea to give this to you now instead of later as a gift along with the celebration”.

Dala smiled after seeing how the kids affected Lixue. They always had a charm about them, a charm that she could never match. She knew that this moment brought Lixue happiness, which she deserved for healing them. If only she could learn their secrets. Wherever her friends went, they always knew how to bring a smile to people's faces. That was a talent Dala could only imagine. The child watched her friends return to the orphanage. One day. One day they would have an amazing home with people who loved them for who they were. She would make it happen. But for now, Dala had to focus on gathering knowledge and skills to be able to survive in the world. The child looked back to Lixue and waited patiently for her next words.
Lixue snapped back to reality and began to explain the magical potential test that Dala would be taking. The test wasn't dangerous nor was it going to be big or flashy, at least that was how she seemed to be describing it. The second that Lixue held out her palms, Dala quickly placed her hands atop without a drop of hesitation. If magic was something she could do, then Dala desperately wanted to know. She needed her skills at full command for what she planned in the future. Every advantage she had needed to be used. Dala could not afford to show fear or hesitation. If she wanted something, she needed to get it.
An unfamiliar jolt of energy ran through her body. It was strange yet powerful in an odd way. The magic Lixue was sending spread throughout her body but began to change. Lixue's magic was calm and inviting. But as the magic changed within the child, something changed with the magic as well. Instead of calm, it was fierce. As though the light itself was a divine sword instead of a healing touch. It could have been the fact it was untamed and unused. Or…perhaps it was something else. Dala had a feeling, in her heart that matched the magic. It had the uncontrollable nature of anger but was driven by love. Love for her friends, empathy for others, and….her love for her mother. Some sort of protective feeling, yet so much more. As light spread through the room, Dala's eyes began to glow with bits of light. The second that Lixue pulled away, the light from her eyes vanished.
Dala looked at her hands with confusion. The strange feeling was gone but the memory of it lingered. She'd never felt like that before. It was like a sleeping power had awakened and was eager to be used again. It was an itch, a new desire never felt before. Dala looked up to Lixue and listened as she talked about the pure light. Light? Was that what she had? She couldn't help but feel a little disappointed since she wanted something a bit different. Beggars couldn't be choosers. And Lixue mentioned how it was a once in a century moment. So that was a good thing.
"How much will I owe you for magic lessons?" Dala asked.
The child did not expect something for nothing. Helping without some sort of compensation was wrong. If Lixue was up to it, Dala was willing to pay. The child had ways of getting money through small and medium jobs. For now she wanted a straight answer from Lixue, Dala looked at Lixue with determined eyes. She had the eyes of somebody who wasn't going to take no for an answer and wouldn't stop until she succeed. Eyes of somebody who wasn't going to stop trying with all of her strength.

Surprised that Dala could write let alone jot down notes on her explanations as she was going rather fast. As Dala put away her journal and quill asking how the test will be performed, Lixue thought of how to explain it as simply as possible since Dala was no longer taking notes. The test was a rather simple one as Dala either had the ability or did not, everything the Priestess needed was right in front of her all she had to do was examine Dala's magical potential.
As Lixue was about to explain the process a shout from a woman caught everyone's attention. Unsure what to make of it as the rundown building did leave much to be desired, but perhaps it was not on the fault of the ones in charge, but those above. Holding off the explanation as Dala and her friends said their goodbyes. Turning away from their huddle to give the children some privacy, but to also hide the joy radiating off of herself upon seeing such a heartwarming sight. With the sounds of little footsteps, the Undead assumed the children would be on their way but to her shock, she was surrounded by bright smiles. As the children thanked her in unison, it felt almost as if her heart had begun beating again. Fighting against her own happiness as she could not let her emotions overpower her as she needed to keep her focus as her being would begin feed on the magic around her. Placing a hand over her mouth then wiping her eyes. "
Your very welcome, I'm glad I could help all of you".
Basking in her own joy as she could not remember the last time she had felt such bliss one last attack upon her heartstrings came with a gift. Kneeling down as Mursha offered her a blessing and a daisy. Gently taking the flower and pressing it to her chest. "
Thank you, but your smiles have already brought me happiness. I hope that one day all of us can smile together once more". If she was still among the living Lixue would be in tears, but thankfully her Undead being dulled her emotions.
With there, goodbyes sent Lixue stared at the flower while twirling it in between her fingers thinking about how to preserve it. Coming back to reality she noticed Dala looking at her. Turning away and clearing her throat. "
Sorry, we have gotten sidetracked". Returning to face Dala with her usual calm demeanour as she carefully places the daisy safely away. "
Now as to discovering your magical potential, it's not too difficult of a test. I already can see that you have a sizable amount of magic within you. Though sizable for a person who has never practised magic no one starts off casting spells on purpose". Holding out both of her hands' palms up towards Dala. "
When your ready place you hands atop mine to form the connection. I'm going to send a small amount of my own magic to act as a catalyst to create a reaction. Depending on your affinity certain types or types or reactions will happen. Do not worry nothing dangerous will occur on my watch, the minor reactions will be in lines with a temperature increase if fire or less if ice nothing harmful".
Giving Dala all the times she needs, as it is understandable that magic can be scary to the initiated. As Dala placed her hand atop Lixue, a surge of energy would jolt through her body. "
Don't worry this is normal with practise this amount of magic will be as natural as breathing". As Lixue's magic spread through Dala's body, the young girl would feel a chance as Preatsiess' magic changed into her own converting into something she had never felt before. Calm spread throughout Dala as it expanded flowing out until the room began to glow with radiant light. Releasing her hand from Dala's, Lixue studied the light looking for any signs of other forms of magic. As the light faded, utter shock spread across her face. "
I don't think I've ever seen such a pure light that even compared to mine before. This is a once in a century.. no millennia moment". Looking toward Dala with disbelieve, "
You have an affinity to light magic that rivals that of legendary figures". Lixue had many questions but did not want to interrogate the girl. The sheer likelihood of meeting such a person were next to none. Not to mention that any such person would be in the hands of an organization or family as she was.
Is this fate, was this the reason I was brought back to a world I no longer belonged? Whether it was fate or some other force that caused them to meet the decision to pursue magic was solely on Dala. Leaving her theories for later the Priestess' focus was solely on Dala. "
As I stated before your magical clarity is at the zenith of what a human could accomplish, and your affinity is light which means other types will be harder for you to learn, however, control is very much a necessity for healing as it is one of the most difficult practises to learn. Though it is your choice if you wish to pursue magic". She had promised Dala to check her magical ability, but not to teach her. Lixue's own words rattled around her head as both her past magical affinity and Dala's current ability held eerily similar properties.

Dala could tell that Cao was different. If Cao had revealed that when first meeting her, then it might have made a difference in how the child saw her. But now things were different. Cao was not an enemy, her healing of her friends and general friendly attitude made that clear. The child did not return to her friends. She placed the mana potion back in her bag but her eyes remained on Cao in a concerned way. Despite everything, Dala genuinely had grown to care for Cao, even though they had only just met. If she was hurting then Dala would bite anybody who was hurting her. That was the way that the child rolled. She understood that her pain had to do with the healing from earlier so she made a mental note to not let Cao do that again, or at least to ensure she had a way to avoid the pain next time.
Cao put Dala's slight concerns about magic at ease when she explained what she was actually going to do. Dala reached into her bag and pulled out a small journal with a quill. She began to scribble down Cao's words as though they were coming from a professional teacher. To Dala, information was information. Whether it came from a professional wizard or a normal wizard didn't matter As long as it was true, the source wasn't important.
"I couldn't get that all down. So I just jotted down some short summary." Dala explained as she put away her journal and quill, "So how is this text going to go?"
Suddenly there was a shout from the owner of the orphanage. She was ordering all the children to come inside, as it was time for them to eat. The children let out a slight whine but they knew they couldn't or shouldn't disobey. Dala ran over to them and gave each of them a hug. Then the kids gathered around in a circle to create a group hug. Dala looked at each of them with a big smile.
"Remember, no matter what, we will be there for each other." She said, "And hopefully our lives will get better. Especially thanks to miss Cao. Don't forget to say thanks to her before you head in."
They released each other from the hug then the group of children rushed over to Cao. Each of them had a big smile and looked genuinely happy with what she had done for them. It would take time for them to get used to their healed body but it was clear that this was a new beginning for them. No longer was it a fight for most of them.
"Thank you miss Cao!" They said in unison.
The rest of them headed back into the orphanage, Mursha stayed behind. She was holding a little daisy in her hands. Mursha didn't seem to be the talkative type but she did speak this time.
"May you find happiness within yourself, miss Cao." Mursha said with a soft voice, holding up the daisy to Cao before running to join the others.
Dala didn't quite understand what Mursha meant but she assumed that it was a thank you. After watching everybody go inside, Dala looked up to Cao. Now that everything was settled with her friends, she was ready to learn this magic. She knew from what Cao said that it wouldn't be like hers. The child was hoping for fire magic. She had seen it before and was always impressed by it. The fire magic also made sense in Dala's mind. After all what other magic type was influenced by rage other than fire? None! Fire was one of the best magic types.

Overhearing the children's glee brought a smile to the Undeads charred face as she took in air slowly. While she no longer needed air the act alone helped her concentrate and slightly take her mind off the pain as flacks of blackening skin crumbled off her body revealing her eternal pale skin.
With most of her attention divided into speeding up her cursed form's own regeneration, she barely heard Dala's footsteps over the children's antics. "
Why aren't you with your friends"? Crossing and tucking her arms in and angling away from the young girl in a poor attempt at hiding her current injury as her clothing did nothing to hide the sides of her legs that were a mix of clear pale white and coal. "
Don't worry about me I'll be fine". Compacting herself more to try and hide what she truly is.
Foolish praying that Dala would not take note of her injuries and discovering that she was nothing but a monster in human form as She was well aware that the Young Girl was more than perceptive and intelligent enough to figure it out. Waiting for the inevitable questions about her body were beginning to show as the stress slowed her regeneration. However, the question never came, instead, Dala pulled out a vial filled with magical energy. Peering over her shoulder revealing the burns that still permeated the Priestess's face. Looking down at the vial as more and more of the burn chipped off. Looking back to Dala with a sullen smile, "
I appreciate your concern, but that will do nothing for me I'm afraid". Facing back away from the girl she hoped that she would just go back to her friends.
With a bit of silence exchanged, Dala spoke up with far less confidence than usual. "
No not at all I don’t expect you to know any spells, plus I doubt you’ll come across a healer with the ability to remake a body part by just casting as it is beyond most as the skill and energy requirement are too high. What you’d normally come across is ritual cast, while it has less of a skill and cost it is still quite high. There is now a monetary cost involved as instead of mana you’ll be using materials”. Cao stopped herself before continuing on as she was getting off topic and did not want to overwhelm the girl with information. “
Anyhow I’m getting off topic, what we will be doing is checking your magical affinity. Almost everything has magical energy flowing through them. Now, how much depends on the individual and by association those that have more are going to have an easier time at controlling and outputting magic. However this is not to say that those with less magic are unable to use magic, it will just be more difficult than someone who is more naturally gifted. Just like a muscle, your own magical reservoir can be increased with training, but everyone has a limit to where it cannot be increased anymore. There are ways to bypass your own natural limit, but those methods are dangerous and all require the lives of others”. While most would not mention the twisted arts, hiding the darker side of magic from a budding student can often lead to them blindly wandering into dangerous territory. “
Along with your affinity to magic, everyone has at least one or more types of magic that they are naturally drawn to. While we do not know why it is, many say it’s from birth while others think it has something to do with personality, however, along with how much magic one carries inside there will be a type usually one maybe two most of the time anymore is extremely rare. Though that is not to say more is better, like everything in magic and in life there is a cost. It may be easier for someone with more types to learn they tend to be rather volatile and have issues learning how to control and refine their craft”.
Taking a break as the Priestess caught herself going off topic again into magical theory instead of answering the question. Examining herself and brushing off the last of the remaining skin as she turned to Dala reminded her of the rare times she taught the attendants when she was not busy. However, unfortunately, the Priestesses’ teaching skills did not increase with age. “
In short, I'm going to grade your magical affinity based on typing, volume of magic and magical clarity”.

"Lu lu lah lah." Sophie began, experimenting with what she could do with her tongue.
It had been so long since the girl had been able to speak and having a full tongue in her mouth felt strange, yet she was grateful. She began jumping up and down with excitement, speaking all sorts of syllables and non-sense words. Sophie knew how to speak, she was just practicing. Gerald meanwhile was working on walking around. He was trying to practice but his muscles were weak in that leg from a lack of usage. Christie was touching her face, trying to understand that the ugly scar that was once so horrible was gone now. Brian was running around, having a look at all of them then began cheering with excitement. Mursha was quietly watching Gerald and stayed nearby in case he fell and needed help.
Dala was shocked at the sight of her friends being healed. She thought it would take a lot more to heal them. If that was all it took, why had it been so hard to safe up for healing them? The child closed her mouth and pretended as though she wasn't surprised. Her eyes scanned the area and she quickly spotted Cao's less than energetic state. While everybody else was distracted by their healed injuries, Dala walked over to Cao. The child knew little of healing or what to do when somebody drained their magic. Yet she was ready to assume responsibility for Cao. It was her fault that the woman was here. Therefore any consequences of her meeting the kids was to fall on her shoulders.
"Here." Dala said going through her satchel, "I think I have something that might help."
She pulled out a bottle filled with a blue liquid. It was a small mana potion that she had looted off of a dead soldier back during the war. Dala offered the potion towards Cao, hoping that it would help the woman. The child didn't trust many people. However, after healing her friends, there was a massive amount of trust. Cao may not have realized it but Dala letting her see the orphanage, or any of these kids, was a massive sign of trust. These were the kids she cared for the most. These were the ones that she sent money to and helped constantly. They were the closest she had to a family. And now Cao had helped them.
"So um…Is that what you're gonna test for?" Dala asked curiously.

Giving Gerald a light smile as he gathered up the other two in need of healing. As the other children readied themselves, Cao looked over to Dala to see that the rough and tumble girl was far more nervous than the ones about to receive the treatment. Turning back to face the three children as it would be better to show than tell as she'd doubted that she could say anything to put Dala at ease. "Gerald lets treat your injury first to show your younger friends that it is safe. Please seat yourself and extend your wounded leg". Once Gerald had seated himself the Priested would approach the young man and kneel near his mangled leg. Rolling up his pant leg she would look to Gerald as she touched his leg to more closely examine the danger, "
I apologize for the coldness of my touch, but I need to see how bad the damage is". Looking back to the boy's leg she would lightly squeeze around the limb to feel all of the damage. While healing such an injury was nothing to her, the process of resetting and mending the bone at such a rapid pace would be quite painful. If the boy was treated properly at the time the bones would have not mended in such a manner, however, due to their social status, no one cared to treat them properly. As she continued to examine Gerald's leg she thought on how to go about explaining that a curse could be beneficial to those not knowledgeable in magic. While those with knowledge of magic knew that dark magic was not evil, most see it as a such as many who wield such power tend to use it for their own selfish desires. "
Gerald, mending your leg will be quite painful, however, I can place a curse on you to temporarily remove all felling. Do not worry it is not my intent to curse you, but it is up to you if you do not trust me enough". Looking up to Gerald waiting for his answer, as he looked over to Dala who nodded while putting his concerns to rest. With a nod from Gerald, Cao got to work, "
Flesh of the host give yourself onto for your master is no longer he who is bound to you. Relinquish the will of the host and rend the sensation of touch from this mortals mind and body". With the incantation finished Gerald could no longer feeling her cold touch nor the air he took in or the beating of his heart. "
Gerald I know you cannot tell if you are breathing, but you are alive remain calm and try to breathe in and out slowly I will be done shortly, but notify me if you begin to panic". Not wasting any time, light shined from the Undead's hands. While using such magic hurt her being the level of the magic was not strong enough to cause physical damage. First, the Priestess reversed the purpose of her spell to rebreak the boy's leg. Then she would properly set the bones and mend Gerald's leg. Soon the light would fade and Cao would snap her fingers releasing the curse from Gerald. Standing up and reaching her hand out to the boy, "
Use me to balance as we check to see if everything is okay. I'm not sure how long it's been since you were injured so please take your time as walking may be difficult for you at first". Balancing Gerald the two of them would walk around for a bit and run a few tests to make sure it was correctly treated.
Satisfied that the bone was set correctly she would sit Gerald back down and turn briefly to look at Dala as she made her way over to Christie. "
Stay still for just a moment Christie, there is no need to worry". With a quick flash of light, Cao waved her hand across the young girl's face revealing a scarless Christie as her hand passed over her face. "
See not even the least bit painful, now go over to your friends while I tend to Sophie".
Calm making her way over to the Young Girl holding a wooden sword raising her hand with her palms out. "
You seem to have the advantage as I am unarmed, it appears I am at your mercy. would you accept my healing in return for my life"? Smiling and joking with the young girl to break the ice, Cao would wait for Sophie to prepare herself as her wound was the most severe. Normally regrowing a body part is next to impossible, but thankfully for the children, Cao was not just your everyday healer. "
I know you probably don't want to show a stranger something so painful, but please, I am here to help. I'll help you just as I did Gerald". Giving Sophie a soft and gentle smile she would wait as long as the girl needed as time was no issue for the Undead. Once Sophie was comfortable enough to open her mouth, the Priestess placed a sphere of light next to her to get a better view of the damage. Looking more closely, she saw tares and layers of scar tissue as it was not a clean cut. Gritting her teeth as she wished unspeakable things on the monster that would do such a thing to a poor girl. With a deep breath, she looked Sophie in the eyes, “
I can heal and regrow your tongue, I will place the same curse that I used on Gerald to make sure there will be no pain. However”. Turning to the rest of the children, “
I would recommend looking away as the sounds and formation of new flesh is not a pleasant thing to witness”. While Cao spoke the truth, her main reasoning behind not wanting the children to see was do to what the magic would do to herself. Not only will the spell cost be a sizable chunk of mana, but pain and suffering as well do to her unlife will be required to fully restore Sophie’s tongue. Letting the children prepare or leave if they wished, Cao would look to Sophie and await her approval. Casting the same spell, but also removing Sophie’s hearing as she did not want the possibility of her own torment to distract the girl. Preparing the spell, blinding light enveloped the young girl obscuring Sophie from even those who could take such powerful rays of light. Forcing more of her Qi into the spell on condensing it. Cao directed all of the magic on Sophie’s tongue while attempting to hold back the searing pain as the light burn the Undead’s flesh. Letting out a small whimper as she forced more magic into the spell while the intensity of the pain and damage increased.
I’ve got to hold on a bit more, get a bit more. I can endure, I must endure! This is the reason I exist pain and suffering is meaningless to me as unlike the living I can endure this pain! Reaching the required price both of magic and of flesh, the part of Sophie’s tongue that still remained began to stir as flesh poured out from it and began to form what had been lost. As the light died out and the pain subsided, Cao looked to see a newly formed tongue within the young girl’s mouth. With a smile, she snapped her fingers as she hid her hands while keeping her back to the children. As she focused on regeneration, the Priestess attempted to hide her pained voice, "
Well, what will your first words be Sophie. I bet everyone would love to hear your voice". Hoping that their friend would distract them enough of her body to heal Cao would remain quiet as she focused on herself.

Dala was not surprised when Cao became frustrated at her. Most didn't like to be lectured by a child but at least Cao didn't try to hit her. Not that she would be able to since her dodging skills were on point. Years of practice made her better at dodging, especially since the punishment for not succeeding was getting injured. She listened as Cao complained about how kids shouldn't have to worry about this kind of stuff and how they were forced into poor accommodations. Dala agreed with her in a way. This was not how kids were supposed to grow up. But just saying that its not right didn't change anything. Helping one child didn't save the thousands of others in desperate need.
And of all the children who needed saving, Dala wasn't the most desperate out of them. She had learned survival tactics. She had freed herself from the most torturous of places. Despite everything, including her appearance, she was doing fine. However, it seemed that Cao was ready to focus on the magic. She mentioned how she wouldn't teach her anything, and only promised to see if she had potential. This made the child slightly frustrated because Cao was correct. The woman only promised to see if she had potential, she didn't promise anything about teaching.
Suddenly, she offered to heal the older boy and the rest of her friends. Gerald looked up to her with a wide cheery smile. Sophie, Gerald, and Christie were the kids who needed healing. Brian and Mursha were fine, it was only their attitudes and bloodlines that singled them out from adoption. Mursha's half-orc nature made most disgusted towards her. Brian's in-ability to keep still and bad habit of getting into trouble made him a poor candidate in the eyes of Adeluna. Gerald nodded to Cao and gathered Sophie and Christie to receive the healing. Meanwhile Dala watched Cao closely, slightly nervous at what she would do. At one point, the child didn't want Cao to drain herself of energy. On the other point, she didn't know if draining energy was an aspect in magic. Dala had only heard of magic in passing conversations. This would be the first time she would get to see it properly.

As the two of them exited Whoozy's store Cao made sure to properly excuse herself with a slight bow as she left, making sure not to lose sight of Dala.
Following Dala, to an unknown destination, Cao could not help but notice the slow pace that Dala was taking. Confused as to why the Young Girl felt the need to take such a slow pace as she could keep up with any pace she could dish out and then some. However, once Dala spoke it was apparent that she either overheard the conversation between Whoozy, or she has been through such an event before. Remaining quiet for now, Cao listened to see if the words were directed towards her and not just a generalized response that had been developed over multiple similar encounters, for now, it seems as if they Priestess was in the clear, but found it odd how a child was lecturing her on the ways of the world. It was not as if she was wrong, as it is true that Orphans were the leftovers of society and that clawing through the almost impregnable barriers of class and social status is next to impossible. However, even if her attempts to help Dala were pointless she could not stand by and ignore Dala just because of poor odds.
Coming to a sudden stop Dala stared directly into Cao's lusterless steel eyes as she prepared her coup de grace for her argument against adoption and a somewhat normal life expectancy. As she brought up Whoozy, Cao realized that she had managed to overhear her conversation between herself and Whoozy. Unfortunately, Dala seemed to revert back to how she acted when they first met as whatever trust she might have given had been betrayed.
Ignoring Dala’s rude and ignorant attempt to establish a sort of dominance as payment for going behind her back, but even Cao’s patience had a limit. As she still wanted to help the priestess simply looked at the rundown building while her small companion whined about her perceived whining. Although the sign was partially damaged she could still make out that this ageing building was an orphanage. As Dala finished her assumptions, Cao looked back to her plainly as the girl’s words and the poor state of a building meant to house children soured her mood. “
Insulting? what’s insulting is thinking that I’d scold you about things a child should not have to worry about”. Pausing to point behind the orphanage. “
What’s insulting is that children are forced into such poor accommodations even with current events”! Bringing hand back to rub her eyes as she calmed herself as Dala was not the one responsible. Peeking through her hand back at Dala, “
I’m sorry as this is not your fault none of this is your fault”. Placing her hand back down as she took a deep breath, “
If you do not want to be adopted I will not force you as my wish to help you were in hopes to keep you out of danger and bring joy back into your life”. Clapping her hands together and giving Dala a light smile. “
However, I did promise you a meal and to test your magical affinity and I never break my promises. After that, you can do as you like as I cannot help you if you do not want my help”.
With an understanding reached Cao followed Dala as she knocked on the door it quickly swung open as a child younger than Dala with a large scar across her face as she leaped at Dala announcing her return. Soon after a group of children all with there own imperfections came to greet Dala. Keeping to herself Cao watched Dala dole out the money she had earned to the other children making sure to remind them to send it wisely while revealing more information about what ails each individual child further understand what Dala meant about how she or her friends will never be adopted.
Looking to Dala as she looked back at her, The priest looked back to the other children. Walking next to Dala and patting her head as she walked past. “
I never promised to teach anything I only promised to see if you had the potential. Though before we leave how about a demonstration"? Making her way to the older boy, “
Your name is Gerald correct …? Tell me, Gerald, would you like me to heal you and your friends”?

Dala walked through the door and headed down the street, walking slow enough so that Cao could walk with her.
"I need you to understand something before we get there." Dala began, "Adoption is not an option for me. When people adopt, they are only doing because they cannot have children of their own. Orphans are like the leftovers given to people who cannot afford to buy real food. I know that sounds harsh but that is the truth. When people go to the orphanage, they are looking for the innocent wide-eyed perfect little kids from their imaginations. They don't understand that orphaned children have trauma and will be unable to be that perfect little girl or boy. However, they don't care. If there is an imperfect child, then that child gets returned and they find a new one. I know this because it happened to me when I tried to get new parents. It's happened to many others as well. And to be clear, I'm not explaining this to get your pity. It's simply the facts."
Her face was serious and devoid of any silliness. Every word that came out of her mouth held the weight and severity of how an adult would explain it. Despite the hard conversation, Dala kept walking, certain of where she was going.
"As for apprenticeship, its a difficult path." She continued to explain, "You have to compete with around 50 to 90 other kids who have parents. Those parents often have connections to those creating apprenticeships, so they are more likely to get those jobs. It also doesn't help that orphans have a reputation of being disgusting little street rats who steal, cheat and lie. With that kind of reputation, its a wonder that any orphan is able to get an apprenticeship. They also don't pay as much as the jobs I'm doing right now. My jobs are dangerous but in the end, I can get 60 silver or 70 silver per week. That very different from the 5 silver a week most kids get."
Suddenly the child stopped and turned around to look directly into Cao's eyes.
"As for Madam Whoozy, she is an old lady with an unstable job." Dala explained, "Her business is fine now but that's mainly because of the war. On a normal basis, she struggles competing against the other potion shops. Do you understand? I'm not willing to make myself a financial burden to an old lady. That would be wrong on every level."
Dala placed her hands on her hips, keeping an eye on Cao's expressions.
"Let me be clear, I'm not saying any of this to get your pity." Dala explained, "I'm merely explaining my situation to somebody who has no idea what its like. When we go in, I don't want you to be whining about how I should get myself some parents or get myself a job. That would be an insult to me and to everybody in the building."
The building that they had stopped in front of was the Adeluna orphanage. The sign was partially broken and a few of the windows were cracked and old. Dala turned towards the building and began to walk up to it, lightly knocking on the door. Suddenly the door swung open, inside was a short little girl, who was visibly younger than Dala, with a massive scar running down her face. The second that the little girl saw Dala, she smiled.
"Dala is here!" The little girl shouted before leaping into Dala's arms.
"Hey Christie." Dala greeted the girl.
Suddenly there was a group of other kids rushing to the door. There was a taller boy who appeared to be two years older than Dala but he was using a crutch to walk around. His left leg was twisted in an odd way that made walking difficult, though it seemed that it had been that way for a long time. There was a half orc girl who was holding an old ragged doll in arms. She had a quiet and soft demeanor, showing a shyness that made her less likely to talk. Another kid was seemingly perfectly fine, though it seemed that he was having a difficult time concentrating on any one thing. The last child to show up was a girl with a wooden sword, missing tooth, and she was unable to speak due to her lack of a tongue. It apparently had been cut off long ago. None of these children were perfect looking and every one of them seemed to have some sort of issue. Yet Dala didn't seem to care about any of that. Instead she greeted each of them with a smile and a warm hug. Despite some of the other kids being older than her, it seemed all of them respected and trusted Dala. After talking for a bit, she pulled out the coin that she had just earned and divided them up among the group. Each child got money.
"Now this is your allowance for a while." Dala said, "I don't want you using it on things like candy or anything. Keep it for food, medicine, blankets, and other stuff. Oh and Gerald, I brought you a knife. If those bullies try to take your crutch again, just stab them. You might get in trouble for a little while but the orphanage owner is too lazy to actually do anything about it. Sophie, don't forget to take the medicine I got you a while back. I know you don't think your tongue issue can be fixed but honestly, I've seen weirder healing than that. If we need to, I will help you get to an Angela temple to get it fixed. Brian, please do your best to concentrate. I know its not your fault but until we can figure out how to find out what's going on, you'll have to do your best. And Mursha, if anybody calls you evil because you are half-orc then you talk to Gerald. He will be able to take care of those jerks."
This was why Dala had poor clothes. This was why she refused to take low-paying apprenticeships. This was why she was so determined to find an alternative to the way that most orphans lived. There were other kids who depended on her. Other kids who needed her help and not just in Adeluna either. There were the Vilpamolan kids, Jayou kids, and many others. She couldn't take care of all the orphans but she did have her favored little groups who she thought needed the most help. Soon, she was done talking with the other kids and sent them back inside, before the orphanage owner got mad at them. Then she turned to Cao.
"Well, I guess we'd better get going." Dala said, "You promised to teach me some magic."

Whoozy's words did nothing to help Cao's concerns about Dala. Frankly, the Undead could not understand why the old woman could be so calm about a young girl facing off against such beasts. However, she was in no place to dispute Whoozy's claims as Cao herself had faced off against far greater threats around the same age as Dala. "
I'll think on it and inform you if I learn anything, but I'd doubt she tell me anything as I had to bribe her just to get her to stay within eyeshot".
With the tapping of footsteps growing louder the both Whoozy and Cao ended their conversation as Dala returned to the group looking annoyed as her search was met with failure. Acting the part of a forgetful old woman Whoozy Teased Dala as Cao could not help, but wonder why the young girl did not wish to stay with someone she had gotten along with so well. it was fairly obvious that Dala had been through horrors why does she wish to continue to suffer when a safer alternative was offered.
As Cao pondered on Dala, the two's transaction mentioning mandrakes and Railoch caught the Undead ear. Being a native of Parvpora she knew exactly how dangerous of a place it was. Giving Whoozy a harsh side glance as she could not believe that she would be okay with sending anyone especially a child to such a place.
Quickly hiding her expression as Dala motioned toward her as she mentioned one more stop before the hotel. "
I am though I am curious as to the last stop before the inn"? While she was fairly certain it had something to do with the ill gotten goods that had lead to their meeting, it was not her place to judge the mortal races as she hunted monsters not man.. even if sometimes it was hard to distinguish between the two.

"Hmm…well I think you'll find that there is more to her than meets the eye." Whoozy said with a soft smile, "I wouldn't say this for any other child but….well don't you find it odd how she was able to get something like a tiger's eye? Just food for thought. If you do find out more about her, please let me know. I'm quite curious about this child. I can't help but wonder what happened…."
Whoozy stopped talking the second she heard the footsteps of Dala down the stairs. Dala wasn't holding a chest and looked thoroughly annoyed. It was clear that the little girl had been unable to find anything.
"Whoozy I couldn't find it!" Dala said with a frown, "Please tell me it wasn't down here the entire time."
"Hmmm It seemed like it was." Whoozy said walking over to the counter and looking underneath it, "Oh there it is. I'm sorry Dala, soon I'll be forgetting everything if I keep this up."
"Yeah right! You just wanted to prank me!" Dala said with a huff.
"Hehe maybe a little." Whoozy admitted, "But you need to keep yourself well exercised."
"Look who's talking." Dala retorted back.
"Hmm maybe the eye isn't as valuable as I thought it was…" Whoozy said looking at the child.
"No! Don't do that!" Dala said with a quick look of panic, "I didn't mean it. I was just kidding!"
The old woman let out a laugh then shook her head.
"I'm just pulling your leg child." Whoozy said bringing out the silver from the chest underneath the counter, "I wouldn't scam one of the best gatherers I have. Now lets see, 200 silver. There you go. Oh and let me know if you happen across any mandrakes alright? You already know what those are right?"
"The screaming root things?" Dala asked, "I'll keep an eye out for them. I saw one when I was in Railoch but didn't have the time to grab it. If I see another I'll bring it for you."
"Thank you. Be good now and don't forget to say hello to the children for me." Whoozy said.
"I won't." Dala said with a small smile, "Bye miss Whoozy."
The child, now having far more silver than before, walked over to Lixue. Dala was unaware of the conversation that had passed between them and hadn't thought that they might be talking about her. Instead, she just assumed that Whoozy had told Lixue old stories about flying pigs or something else. After all, that was what old people were supposed to do, wasn't it?
"We have one more stop before the hotel." Dala said, "Are you ready to head out?"

Letting out a chuckle at the girl's fair questions. While unsure how to explain to the girl that even her home was unfamiliar to her as time had passed beyond her. Even if the Undead should not exist or live alongside the living at the very least she could turn her cursed existence into a positive for others. "
It's was closer". With a teasing smile, the Priestess let her words hang as she knew that her inquisitive companion would not accept such a simple answer. "
It's easier to travel to the closest city than my home as it's on a completely different continent". Leaving out the part about helping her find a home as she assumed that the young girl did not want to be taken in due to past events probably involving slavery as that was the first thought that can to the girl's mind when they had first met. Hiding her concerns with a smile as Lixue was unsure if she would be able to help Dala as her past has left quite a mark on her life.
As the Priestess was about to keep the conversation going about the dangers of gate magic slow steps grew louder signalling the return of Whoozy. With her glasses, the elderly woman determined the obvious as tigers tend to not have purple eyes. Unsure as to the uses for tiger eyes in alchemy and what the difference a purple eye would have on the concoction but the price for one eye was enough to convince Lixue that the eye had significant properties. With the price set, the Whoozy mentioned to acquire the payment, but Dala interfered chastising the older woman for attempting to do something that would endanger herself. Finding it odd that the older woman kept all her coin lock in a chest as her paranoia could backfire in many ways, but when she approached the look in her eye cleared up the Undead's confusion.
With Dala out of earshot, the sly woman had given the both of them time to speak as Whoozy also cared for the wellbeing of the street rat. Whoozy's question confirmed Lixue's concerns about being completely transparent with her plans as her Young Friend truly did not want to live under another's care. "
No, we've just met today in an abandoned village while I was looking for survivors and clearing out the town. She was in the cellar of a tavern stealing and was not too fond of me as she thought I was a slaver". Pausing the Undead showed her displeasure at being seen as a slaver, as her apparel and demeanour were nothing like a slaver! "
After explaining myself and some bribes I managed to convince her to come with me to the city, where I hoped to find a place for her". As she looked at the aged woman she frowned as she was unsure as to how she would succeed. "
As you two seemed close I was hoping that you would take her under your care as no doubt you both could benefit from each other, but by your words, it does not seem like she would take any offers. I'm not sure how to go about it now as I only have today to undo whatever caused her to mistrust others". Rubbing the side of her head as the concerns built up about the girl's future. "
I did offer to assess her magical ability and I'd be willing to teach her, but I'm often in dangerous situations which are no place for someone so young". While Dala's age seemed to be around the time Lixue was actively hunting down demons and the like. The difference between the two of them was that the Undead was trained and bred for such a task.

Dala didn't say much in response to Lixue comment about how they seemed to be close. It wasn't that the child disliked or distrusted the woman, it was more of that she didn't know how to explain it. Their relationship was a deep friendship that blossomed out of something really horrible. Explaining that to a somewhat stranger was more than what Dala was willing to do.
"…If you didn't know how to navigate this city, why did we come here?" Dala asked curiously, "There are other cities to go to. I'm sure that you would know at least one town or location you'd be familiar with."
She did not mean for her words to be sharp or harsh. Her curiosity was genuine. But they didn't have much time to discuss it before Madame Whoozy came back with her glasses. Dala handed the jar with the eye over to the elderly woman. Madame Whoozy took the jar and placed it on the counter to begin the inspection. After a few moments, the elderly woman walked over to Dala with a smile.
"This is a very rare item that you've brought me. There aren't many tigers with a purple eye. I'd say its at least 200 silver. Hold on a moment, I'll have to get the coin chest from upstairs." Madame Whoozy said.
"Whoozy! You know you can't go up or down the stairs while holding stuff!" The child exclaimed with a tired sigh, "Fine. I suppose that means I'll have to get it. But you have to keep it down here from now on. I know you might be scared of bandits but its unhealthy to expect you to drag it up and down the stairs."
With that, Dala entered into the backroom and could be heard charging up the steps. The elderly woman smiled and headed towards Lixue. The woman was frail looking but it was clear that she had a high amount of intelligence behind her soft eyes.
"Now that she's not in earshot. Lets talk." The elderly woman said, "I supposed you would have a few questions about Dala or about me. And I have some for you. I'll ask first since since I'm the frail old woman. How did you meet Dala? I can't imagine that she would have ever allowed herself to get adopted. Last time it was mentioned, she practically threw a fit…"

While finishing up her business the Undead could already feel the tugging of her young companion. Looking towards the young girl as she wanted to go to a woman known as Madame Woozy's, or for the very least that's what the Priestess assumed the owner's name to be. With precious little time to spare as with most children, patience is not a skill valued highly. Requesting a couple of towels some soap and a few washcloths for there future bath, Lixue would step away from Dala for a moment and close in on Harley as he was packing her requested items. "
Also if you have some nice clothes for children add those in as well". Keeping her voice light as she did not want Dala to overhear, Harley simple nodded looking over to Dala for a moment to get a rough estimate of the girl's size.
As Harley attempted to pick out Lixue's order as covertly as possible Lixue did her best to keep Dala from noticing her surprise. "
Oh, I almost forgot". Handing Dala thirty silver as payment for the girl's labour and secondly to distract her from noticing the Goliath picking out clothing obviously too small for the Priestess. Continuing to attempt to keep Dala's attention away from Harley the goliath would approach the two of them, "Here you are and thank you for your patronage". Handing off the bag to Lixue she would thank him and Dala for her patients.
With her business finished she would once again be led by the young girl even if it was slightly embarrassing to be lead by not only her charge but someone much younger than herself. Winding through the twist and turns, they would arrive at the shop Dala had previously spoken of. Still unsure if the owner was also named Whoosy or not the two of them entered, but the girl's manner of entry caught the Priestess by surprised. Catching the door before it slammed shut she would close it gently while looking to her young companion with an unimpressed expression. As she was about to chastise her an Elderly Woman spoke with a crude but apt description of Dala as she returns an equally crude descriptor. As the two embraced Lixue let Dala's action and remarks go as the two seemed to know each other quite well.
With a quick introduction and with similar pleasantries exchanged her young friend quickly got back to business removing a jar with a purple eye to which Madam Whoozy identified it as a Tiger's eye confusing the Priestess as she had never heard of a purple tiger eye, but to be fair there was quite a bit that she was unaware of. As Madam Whoozy left to get her glasses, Dala seemed almost boastful as she placed her hands on her hips and spoke about Madam Whoozy. "
It's understandable as you would not want your competition to know your secrets. She must be very skilled in her craft to show such confidence". Public disclosure was rare if not mock back in Karith as everyone was doing there best to get a step ahead of the competition. Her family had many secret rituals and tools that were kept a secret from others. Smile back at Dala as she spoke about the Madam highly, "
You two seem to be very close". While she wanted to delve deeper into the two's relationship, she doubted that the girl would answer questions from a complete stranger as she still has not even shared her name yet.
"
After we're done here we can have that bath and a nice meal. I'll be relying on your knowledge of the city once again, and I have not forgotten that I will help you discover your magical affinity". Keeping the conversation light as she did not want to push the young girl away as no doubt questioning her would drive her away. Hedging her bets on Madam Whoozy the Undead would continue conversing with Dala about her favourite food as she waited for the alchemist's return.

Dala lead Lixue through the crowd and became increasingly annoyed by the people asking them so many questions. Why were they interested? But it was the last question, the one involving her "big sis" and whether or not she was single, that annoyed the child the most.
"Go and take your pervert thoughts somewhere else!" She shouted at the guy who asked.
She continued heading through the crowd until they managed to get to Harley's Haberdashery which was neutral to all parties. As they entered, Dala first noticed the little bell that was meant to tell when a costumer was in. She had been to the store before but the bell always attracted her attention. The shop owner came up to them and business began. Dala brought out the monster parts to show to him and watched as he inspected them. After they received the money, the child decided that she wanted to go to another shop and began pulling on Lixue's sleeve to get her attention.
"We need to go to Madame Whoozy's Potions. I have a few more things to sell." Dala explained.
Dala didn't mind Lixue keeping the money for the monster parts, after all she was the one to get them anyway. But the child needed money too. There were many things to take care of before they left the city. Dala lead Lixue through the crowd and stopped at a shop with a potion symbol above it. The words
Madame Whoozy's Potions were scribbled underneath the sign. The child pushed the door open, slamming it and walked into the store without a second thought. The top of the walls were covered in ivy that had been creeping through the wooden planks. In the center of the store was three small fireplaces that were surrounded by stone to keep the fire under control. On each fireplace was a cauldron with some sort of bubbling liquid in each. One of the cauldrons had a deep green steam coming from the black pot. In the very back of the room was a long counter with glass cases in the wall. The glass cases had a variety of potions and ingredients that were clearly very valuable. On the left of the room was a series of shelves with books, scrolls, and little bags. On the right were a couple of pots with dirt and plants growing inside of them. A door in the very back of the room, behind the counter, suddenly opened revealing an elderly woman.
"Look…it's my favorite street rat." The elderly woman said.
"Hello bag of bones." Dala retorted.
They both smiled and the elderly woman opened her arms to give the child an embrace. Surprisingly, Dala accepted the hug and slowly pulled back. The elderly woman was hunched over and had wild gray hair tied up in a bun. She was very thin and her clothes were a mixture of green, blue, and purple.
"This is Madame Whoozy." Dala explained, "Madam Whoozy, this is Lixue."
"Its a pleasure to meet you." Madame Whoozy said to Lixue before turning back to Dala, "So what brings you here?"
Dala pulled out a jar that had a purple eyeball inside of it. The jar was clearly cheap but it was able to keep the eyeball safe and in good condition. Madame Whoozy took the jar and inspected it closely.
"A tiger eye." The elderly woman said, "Very impressive. I'll need to get my glasses to have a better look at it, if you don't mind."
Madame Whoozy returned the jar and headed towards the door that she had entered from to get her glasses. The child turned to Lixue with her hands on her hips.
"Madame Whoozy has the best potions around." Dala declared, "Her ingredients are the best and she always writes whats in the potion on the back of the container. That's pretty rare you know?! Most people won't bother or will keep the ingredients secret."

Nodding as she listened to her Young Charge relieved that she was familiar with the town. Unsure as to where Vilpamolan was, but by the Girl's rough demeanour Lixue assumed that it was not a place for children to be. Her companion continued on mentioning areas focused around catering to adventures and with how large Adeluna there was no doubt there were many guilds and many suppliers catering to the guilds, even with the Girl's stipulation of trading with only girls.
Holding back a chuckle at the very much childlike request as the Priestess was glad that even with all the girl must have been through she is still a child at heart. "
Don't worry if we have to trade with boys, as we're going to find a decent inn to wash up anyway. I am doubtful cooties can stand up to soap". Smile at the girl as she allowed her to take the lead uncertain as to the paths her young friend was taking as they did not seem to be the direct route.
Twisting and turning through the crowded cities seamlessly flowing through the crowds as Dala made sure to keep from any of the dregs of society from taking advantage of the Priestess she was escorting. Even with the roundabout path the two of them arrived at the guild district. Large intricately designed guild halls dotted the streets with many shops ranging from smiths to fletchers surrounded the halls plying their trade. Instead of the common folk crowding the streets, adventures wearing all kinds of armour and enchanted knickknacks lined the streets sharing their stories or fighting over guild pride.
As Dala escorted Lixue, plenty of adventures or members of the guild's staff approached the two of them either asking them about joining the guild, if they were part of a guild or if Dala's "big sister" was single. "
No, just here to sell some items, No we're not sisters". Brushing off the annoying people as politely as possible as they attempted to sell their wares within the guild district. A majority of the shops only sold to members of individual guilds, but they did manage to find a shop called Harley's Haberdashery that was neutral to all guilds.
As the two of them entered the store, the girls were greeted to a homely but crowded store that sold everything and anything. Hearing the bell chime a deep voice of a man greeted them. "Hello welcome to my store, is there anything you'd like". Looking to the owner of the voice surprised Lixue as what she saw was a massive man at least over seven feet with stone grey skin with a face and body that looked as if it were chiselled from stone. He wore a nice red velvet and blue doublet with black pants and leather shoes showing that the man was doing well for himself. "
Yes actually, but first we have a few items for sale". Motion Dala to take the void beast parts out of her bag she would help to line the items along an open table. "
Void beasts parts eh, can't offer much from them ever since this invasion these items are commonplace now". Looking at the items he picked up a rhino horn. "
This is pretty rare still surprised you two were able to take such a thing out to bad you did not bring the carapace as I know a few armour smiths looking from some… I'll give you 25 silver for the rhino horn and 1 per chomper tooth and 5 per void crystal". Doing some quick math in her head, the total equalled out to 224 silver thanks to the sheer about of teeth chompers had. "
That seems fair". While she did not know the actual value of such things 224 was more than what she needed to pay for everything she needed to help her Young Friend.

Dala eyed the guard with suspicion, as she wondered if he would get upset over something as small as entering the town with a magical portal. Eldritch beasts weren't able to use magic anyway so she didn't understand why the guard had such precautions about magic use. But instead of retorting or insulting the man, the child simply looked away instead. She also felt a burst of irritation when Lixue mentioned how she didn't want to risk Dala's safety. Choosing to ignore that irritating comment, she instead focused on the familiar streets of Adeluna. Dala lived in Vilpamolan for a long time but she had visited the streets of Adeluna. However, she had a careful eye on everything. There was no telling when her past might creep up….though she knew where it most likely would be.
"You don't have to apologize." Dala said, "They're the fucking idiots who forgot that the beasts can't use magic. Honestly, its safer to go places through magic than through the gates."
Suddenly Lixue asked about where to sell monster parts. The child thought for a moment before answering.
"If we were in Vilpamolan, I'd be able to tell you right away." She admitted, "But I do know how they divide the market. We will want to head to the area that goes in adventuring supplies and materials. Those are usually the guys who like monster parts. And if they aren't willing to sell anything then we can go to the mage part of the markets to sell the monster parts. But I would prefer to trade with girls, the guys might have cooties."
Despite everything, she was still a child. Dala took Lixue's hand and began to direct her through the crowd, avoiding certain areas that she knew would have more pickpockets than other areas.
